My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 940 940: Arrival Of The Allied Forces

Sometime later, Nyx regained consciousness after hearing Selvariel’s strained breathing, the sound intense enough to pull her out of her comfortable rest.

Selvariel was leaning against Yuan’s chest, breathing heavily, her body covered in sweat, giving her an alluring and exhausted appearance.

“Oh, you’ve woken up, Mother-in-law Nyx. How was the nap? Was it comfortable?” Yuan asked with a teasing smile, his gaze lingering on her graceful figure.

“It was the best rest I’ve had in my entire life. Also, you don’t need to call me with such honorifics—just call me Nyx. After all, I’m no longer just your mother-in-law… I’m also your wife now.” Nyx said softly, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.

“Alright. I’ll call you Nyx—but only when we’re alone.” Yuan replied with a gentle smile before pulling her into his embrace.

He studied her features closely, noticing how much she resembled Emma—the daughter she had given birth to.

Just like Emma, she had a pair of sharp fangs, though slightly longer, giving her a more mature and striking appearance. Her features carried both elegance and danger.

“Your fangs are more pronounced compared to Emma’s… they give you a rather striking presence,” Yuan remarked while observing her.

Nyx raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you having second thoughts after noticing them? Do they make you uncomfortable?”

“Not at all. They suit you… I like them.” Yuan replied with a soft smile before leaning in closer.

Nyx smiled in response, feeling relieved that he didn’t find them unpleasant, which made her genuinely happy.

“Now then, let’s head to the bath and freshen up, shall we?” Yuan said as he got off the bed and opened the bathroom door, a faint mischievous smile on his lips.

Both Nyx and Selvariel let out a soft sigh before following him inside. Soon, the sound of water filled the room as they began to clean themselves.

“What kind of cultivation technique should I give to my new wives? I can’t just hand them something random and call it a day.” Yuan pondered seriously as he lay on the bed.

Nyx and Selvariel looked at him with puzzled expressions as he appeared deep in thought, but neither of them dared to interrupt him.

In their eyes, Yuan wasn’t someone who became serious without reason. His silence carried meaning.

Thus, they chose to remain quiet and wait.

After searching through the vast collection of cultivation techniques stored within his system, Yuan finally found techniques that suited them.

Divine Light Immortal Sutra—a Divine Grade cultivation technique perfectly suited for Selvariel, whose angelic bloodline naturally resonated with the element of light.

It was the ideal technique for her. With her natural affinity toward light, her cultivation speed would reach unimaginable heights.

The second technique he selected was the Nine Nether Poison Art—an extremely powerful Ancient Grade cultivation technique with nine stages, accompanied by multiple offensive techniques.

This made it a rare and complete technique, combining both cultivation and combat into a single path.

‘These techniques are perfect for them… with such profound methods, they will one day shake the heavens.’ Yuan thought, a sense of anticipation rising within him.

Suddenly, the techniques materialized in his hands, appearing out of nowhere, leaving Nyx and Selvariel visibly surprised.

“Since you are now my wives, it’s time for you both to step onto the path of cultivation.” Yuan paused briefly as he placed the techniques on the bed.

“I’ve selected cultivation techniques that suit your nature. Once you understand them, you can begin your cultivation.”

He picked up one of the techniques and handed it to Nyx. “This is the Nine Nether Poison Art—a perfect match for you.”

“Thank you, Yuan,” Nyx said with a bright smile as she accepted the technique, excitement clearly visible in her eyes.

‘Finally… I can begin my cultivation journey and stand alongside my daughter and our husband…’ She thought inwardly, unable to hide her anticipation.

He then turned toward Selvariel with a gentle smile, lifting the other technique in his hand.

“This is the cultivation technique I’ve chosen for you, Selvariel.” Yuan handed it to her with a calm and steady motion.

“This is a highly suitable technique—the Divine Light Immortal Sutra, a rare and powerful method that will greatly enhance your strength.”

Yuan’s words echoed in Selvariel’s mind as her gaze lingered on the technique for a few moments before she finally accepted it.

The moment she held it, she felt an immediate connection, as if the technique had been created specifically for her.

“Divine Light Immortal Sutra… what a profound name…” Her soft voice slipped from her lips as her fingers gently traced the surface of the technique, a faint smile forming.

“As the name suggests, it is related to light. Unfortunately, I don’t know all its intricacies. You will have to explore and understand it on your own.” Yuan replied with a slight smile.

“Well, the two of you should begin immediately. Sit in a meditative posture and study the technique. Once you memorize it, start your cultivation.”

After saying this, Yuan deactivated the sound-concealing formation and stepped out of the room.

Both Nyx and Selvariel needed peace and quiet to comprehend their techniques and begin their cultivation journey.

His presence might distract them, so it was better to leave them alone.

“Well, I should check on the situation in the empire. The allied forces have probably arrived by now.” He muttered to himself before exiting the Secret Realm.

All his wives and the others were immersed in cultivation, and he had no intention of disturbing them.

The moment he stepped out of the Secret Realm, he could already sense the heavy tension in the air as the bright moon cast its pale light across the land.

Even at night, the distinct sounds of soldiers training echoed in the distance. With his heightened senses, he could hear their shouts clearly.

“It seems the situation is getting worse… everyone is preparing for the inevitable war,” Yuan muttered, letting out a soft breath.

“What a hassle… no matter where I go, something like this always happens. Am I cursed with bad luck or something?”

“Forget it. I should go find Emperor Rhex… or should I say, my brother-in-law…” He shook his head lightly and located Emperor Rhex using his Divine Sense.

At that moment, the Emperor was preparing to receive the army of the Vampire Kingdom. His wife stood beside him, and both of them looked deeply concerned.

Empress Varia, in particular, seemed even more troubled, clearly struggling to manage the overwhelming situation.

Yuan appeared behind them silently, without making a single sound. His presence was completely concealed, as though he did not exist at all.

“There is no need to be overly concerned about the situation at the border. Let fate decide the outcome,” Yuan said calmly as he stood beside them.

“What the—?!” Both Emperor Rhex and Empress Varia were startled upon hearing Yuan’s sudden voice.

“W-When did you get here? I didn’t sense your presence at all!” Emperor Rhex exclaimed, placing a hand over his chest to steady his racing heart.

‘This is unbelievable! He appeared like a ghost, and I couldn’t sense him at all! Just how powerful is he?!’ Emperor Rhex thought in shock.

“I just arrived a moment ago,” Yuan replied casually.

A heavy silence followed as Emperor Rhex gazed into the distance and let out a quiet sigh.

“Unfortunately, I cannot leave the fate of my people to chance. As their Emperor, I must do everything within my power to protect them.” Emperor Rhex said after a moment, his voice carrying a heavy burden.

Yuan understood Rhex’s inner turmoil—his sense of responsibility and unwavering dedication to his people.

It was only natural for him to think this way. However, from Yuan’s perspective, Rhex was pushing himself too far and neglecting his own well-being.

“You should understand that an exhausted warrior cannot fight a war. You are severely worn out from your duties, and it is taking a toll on your body. You need proper rest.” Yuan advised calmly.

He was merely advising him after observing the condition of his body and mind. Whether he chose to rest or not was entirely Emperor Rhex’s decision.

“Yuan is right, dear. You really need proper rest to recover,” Empress Varia said with a worried expression. “Look at the dark circles under your eyes… they’re visible even from a distance.”

“You haven’t slept for nearly two days. If you continue like this, I don’t know what will happen to you.”

Hearing her words, Emperor Rhex let out a slow breath. He glanced at his wife and sighed deeply.

‘Of course I know I’m exhausted… I can barely keep my eyes open at this point. But my presence is required here. I cannot rest until the armies of the allied nations arrive.’ He thought, clenching his fists as he forced himself to endure.

“Sigh… You’re far too stubborn…” Empress Varia murmured softly. She knew all too well how unyielding her husband could be.

Thus, she chose not to press the matter any further. She understood that once he had made up his mind, no amount of persuasion would change it.

Booooo!!!

Some time later, the deep sound of a horn echoed from the main entrance of the imperial city—it was a signal from the guards.

“They’ve arrived. The allied forces have reached our gates.” Emperor Rhex said, a trace of relief appearing on his face.

Yuan immediately extended his Divine Sense and observed the situation outside the city gates.

Hundreds of soldiers from the allied nations stood in formation, clad in heavy armor. Each battalion bore different styles of armor and weaponry, reflecting the diversity of their respective kingdoms.

“Open the gates!! The allied forces have arrived!!” One of the Vampire Counts shouted toward the guards, his voice echoing across the entire vicinity.
