Chapter 871: A Huge Uproar In The Lawless City
Chapter 871: A Huge Uproar In The Lawless City
“Lady Nyx, since you’ve resigned from the Green Viper Organization as its leader, wouldn’t it affect the reputation of the organization as well as its operations?” Valeria asked politely, a small smile on her face.
“Of course not. I have been preparing for this moment for a very long time now. I’ve calculated everything.” Nyx responded with a confident smile, her expression calm yet assured.
However, Yuan and the others weren’t completely convinced by her words. After all, the Green Viper Organization was one of the four largest criminal organizations in the Lawless City.
Managing such a massive organization wasn’t an easy task. If the new leader wasn’t capable, then the entire organization could fall apart.
Furthermore, the Red Dragon Syndicate would surely find countless ways to take down the Green Viper Organization—especially considering their leader, Cassius, was now dead, killed by none other than Emma, Nyx’s daughter.
Seeing the uncertain expressions on Yuan and the others’ faces, Nyx gave everyone a reassuring smile before speaking.
“There’s no need to worry about my organization. I’ve appointed a very talented and capable person as the new leader. She’ll handle everything from now on.”
“Is that so… as expected of someone as capable as you, Lady Nyx,” Vanessa said with a nod and a smile. “By the way, what do you think about destroying the entire Red Dragon Syndicate? Wouldn’t that be very beneficial for your organization?”
“I don’t think so,” Nyx paused for a brief moment before continuing, “If we destroy the entire Red Dragon Syndicate, it would break the balance and throw the whole city into chaos. Furthermore, I doubt the other two organizations would allow that to happen.”
“After all, no one is foolish enough to let a war break out between them and give another organization the chance to profit from the situation.” She explained with a sharp glint in her eyes.
Later, Mireya showed Nyx her bedroom, which was located right next to Miss Zara’s room.
Nyx had never been to the Elven Palace before, so she was quite fascinated by the elven architecture and the palace’s magnificence.
After checking the room Mireya had prepared for her, she took a small tour around the palace and absolutely loved it. The entire palace was a masterpiece—every nook and cranny was beautiful beyond words.

Back in the Lawless City, a rumor was spreading rapidly, leaving countless people speechless upon hearing it.
It quickly became the newest sensation throughout the entire Lawless City. Every large and small organization was discussing the rumor, as many found it simply unbelievable.
“How is this even possible? There’s no way the leader of the Green Viper Organization would resign after such a big incident!”
“C-Could it be that she was scared of the Red Dragon Organization? Especially Lord Commander Ragnar?”
“That’s indeed a possibility. However, I highly doubt it. After all, Lord Commander Ragnar’s strength was far below Lord Cassius’s.”
“There’s no way she would just run away. There must be a reason behind such an action.”
People’s murmurs quickly filled every nook and cranny of the Lawless City—everyone and their mother was talking about it.
Many couldn’t help but wonder what the reason could be behind Nyx’s sudden departure from the Lawless City. Was it something related to her long-lost daughter, whom she had reunited with only recently?
All kinds of thoughts spread through the city, some positive and others negative. Some even began claiming that Nyx had fled out of fear of the Red Dragon Syndicate.
Meanwhile, Darius, the leader of the Sky Eagle Syndicate, was left in complete shock after hearing the news about Nyx’s resignation from the Green Viper Organization.
He simply couldn’t believe that someone like Nyx would step down from such a powerful position out of nowhere. After all, she had spent countless years building that organization from the ground up.
She had fought countless battles against rival organizations and killed thousands to turn the Green Viper Organization into one of the largest and most powerful forces on the entire Beast Continent.
“Damn it!” Darius slammed his fist against the table, leaving a deep imprint of his palm on the wood. “I’m the leader of the largest information network on the entire continent… and yet, I don’t even know where Nyx went. This is a huge slap in the face!”
“People will laugh at me for my incompetence… this is a massive headache.” He sighed deeply, frustration and curiosity filling his heart as he wondered why Nyx had decided to resign so suddenly.
Later, he ordered a few of his most trusted and skilled men to investigate the eastern district and uncover any information about the disappearance of the leader of the Green Viper Organization.
There were already countless people asking about Nyx’s whereabouts, and many were offering hundreds of thousands of gold coins just to learn where she had gone.
Aside from Cassius, who had openly pursued her, there were many other suitors who had once admired Nyx from afar. But because of Cassius, none had ever dared to approach her.
Now that Cassius was no longer in this world to stand in their way, those very men began to stir once again. After all, Cassius had been the one who mercilessly killed anyone bold enough to get close to Nyx, and many had met their end by his hand.
Since Cassius was gone and no one remained to block them, suitors flocked to the Sky Eagle Syndicate to learn Nyx’s whereabouts.
Unfortunately, even Darius didn’t know where she had gone; it was as if Nyx had been swallowed by the earth, leaving no trace behind.
Seeing the crowd of hopeful suitors outside his headquarters, Darius let out a dry laugh, closed the window, and returned to his seat.
“A bunch of fools think they have a chance to win Nyx’s heart… what a load of crap. Hmph!” he snorted coldly and resumed his work.
Meanwhile, at the Red Dragon Syndicate, Ragnar grew even angrier after learning that Nyx had handed leadership of the Green Viper Organization to someone else and vanished from the Lawless City.
“Where the hell did that bitch go?! After what she did to us, she runs away like a coward?!” He smashed his wine glass to the floor in rage, eyes burning red.
“What a disgrace! I never thought the leader of the Green Viper Organization would be such a coward—running away to save her skin!” he spat through clenched teeth.
With a hard glare, he picked up another glass and muttered, gritting his teeth, “Run where you like, but one day I’ll find you and kill you all.”
“I’ll make sure I personally end you both and avenge that fool! Only then will he find peace…” With that, he downed the wine in one gulp and smashed the glass.

Morgana Duskborne was drawing a colossal magic circle in her private training chamber, the place where she tested new formulas.
The room’s walls and pillars were forged from exceptional materials to withstand the blasts that came when experiments spiraled out of control.
Morgana sat at the chamber’s center as a vast magic circle formed above her head; intricate patterns unfolded as the circle swelled.
Dense Mana pulsed from her, her nails and eyes darkening as strange black veins crept across her skin, etched with mysterious symbols.
Those symbols glowed a fierce red, and the air around the circle trembled. Though the room had no windows, a wind rose within it.
“Just a few more minutes and I’ll finish this circle… my greatest creation,” Morgana breathed, teeth clenched as she carved even finer patterns into the rising glyphs.
She poured more Mana into the magic circle, and it began to pulse with energy. Jet-black lightning arced across the room, striking against the walls and floor.
’Indeed, my greatest creation… it’s not even complete, yet it’s already showing its power. This is incredible! Just a few more minutes and I’ll be done!’ she thought with a smile, focusing all her strength on finishing the magic circle.
She continued to channel Mana into it, her attention unwavering as more and more intricate patterns formed within the glowing circle above her head.
A few seconds later, Morgana realized that she had already used up most of her Mana and was now running dangerously low.
With a swift motion, she retrieved a Mana Recovery Potion from her magic pouch and drank it in one go.
’I hope this works, or else the new magic circle will spiral out of control, and all my efforts will be wasted. Not just my effort—my resources too!’ she thought with a tense look, swallowing nervously before continuing to pour more Mana into the circle.
After consuming two more Mana Recovery Potions and spending nearly half an hour, the magic circle was finally complete.
The circle emitted a dangerous, oppressive aura that made the very air in the room tremble. Everyone within the headquarters could feel the overwhelming energy radiating from Morgana’s training chamber.
“What is this dense energy I’m sensing? Did the Mistress discover something new again?”
“Such dense energy… it’s even more powerful than a legendary-tier magic! Truly extraordinary!”
“It seems our Mistress has successfully created a new magic spell! And it’s so powerful!”
“I want to personally witness the magnificence of this new spell!”
“Me too!”
As soon as the members of the Dark Society Syndicate sensed the dense energy radiating from the underground training room of their headquarters, murmurs filled the air.
Most of them were filled with excitement and pride for Morgana, their leader — a brilliant and highly skilled spell crafter.
Back in the underground training ground, Morgana was carefully inscribing the new magic circle onto a special paper used by mages to record spells.
Just as she finished writing, she heard approaching footsteps and felt a familiar aura behind her. Then, Clara’s voice echoed through the room.
“Congratulations, Mistress! You’ve achieved something remarkable once again.”
“Thank you, my dear Clara,” Morgana smiled without turning her head, standing gracefully from the floor. “Tell me, did something happen while I was occupied?”
“Yes, Mistress. Something did happen—and it’s not a minor issue.”
“Oh?” Morgana raised her brows, turning toward Clara after a brief pause. “Do tell me, then. You have my full attention.”
“Mistress, Lady Nyx and her daughter have suddenly vanished from the Lawless City,” Clara reported at once. “Before her disappearance, Lady Nyx also resigned from her position as the leader of the Green Viper Organization.”
“She what?!” Morgana exclaimed, eyes widening in shock as she stared at Clara in disbelief.
