Wen Qian smiled and nodded in thanks. She picked up her utensils, gently cut a small piece of food, and placed it in her mouth. The unique flavor spread across her taste buds, making her eyes light up.

"Are you getting used to it?" Chi Heng asked with concern, his eyes full of tenderness. Wen Qian nodded vigorously. "It’s delicious."

At this, the two unfamiliar youths sitting opposite them exchanged a look, meaningful smiles playing on their faces. When had Chi Heng ever shown such an expression in the Wolf Clan? In the past, he wouldn’t even give his own brothers a second glance, yet now he was showering a young woman with affection...

’Incredible. Simply incredible!’

As if sensing their stares, Wen Qian glanced over curiously, and the two immediately lowered their heads.

’Why do they look so scared of me?’

’No, wait. It doesn’t seem like they’re afraid of me...’

Wen Qian was a little bewildered. She turned to look at Chi Heng, only to see him give her a gentle smile.

But their gazes weren’t the only ones on her. Wen Qian glanced toward the seat near the Wolf King and saw an older Wolf Beastman sitting there.

He was wearing a floral shirt, holding a glass of red wine in one hand, and quietly sizing her up. Sensing her gaze, he immediately curled his lips. "Qianqian."

"Hello." Wen Qian nodded. Faced with this completely unfamiliar man, she didn’t know what to say.

"It seems you really have lost your memory..." The man rubbed his chin, his gaze darting to Chi Heng before returning to Wen Qian. He spoke thoughtfully, "So... do you remember any other Beastmen?"

"Other Beastmen?" Wen Qian froze for a moment, when her hand was suddenly gripped by the man beside her.

Chi Heng shot Chi Ye a warning look, clearly displeased with his question.

Shrugging, the man immediately forced a wide smile. "I was just kidding."

After saying that, he lowered his head and ate quietly, not daring to utter another word. ’This isn’t Blue Star. If I screw things up between my nephew and Wen Qian, the Wolf King will be the first one to have my hide.’

The Wolf Clan Beastmen, an ancient and mysterious race on this continent, possessed outstanding combat talent and keen perceptual abilities. They could resonate with the various elements in the mountains and forests, which was why they lived in a place surrounded by ancient, towering trees.

After dinner, Chi Heng took Wen Qian for a walk around the castle, where she saw many peculiar plants and animals.

Chi Heng took her hand and pressed it against the rough bark of a Spirit Tree. Wen Qian watched as blue motes of light rippled out from under her palm, forming a small vortex.

"How incredible..." Wen Qian’s eyes widened. ’If this was the kind of life I lived before my amnesia, it’s a real pity I forgot it all.’

At that moment, Chi Heng stepped forward again. He casually plucked a glowing leaf and handed it to Wen Qian. "This is a plant unique to the Beast World. Each one has a unique ability."

Wen Qian took the leaf and examined it closely. The leaf trembled slightly in her hand, as if it were alive.

Suddenly, a group of strange-looking little creatures darted out from the grass. They were petite, with transparent wings, and they flew around Wen Qian, dancing joyfully.

Wen Qian laughed at the adorable scene. Watching her sweet smile, the corners of his own lips curled up unconsciously.

Along the way, Chi Heng introduced Wen Qian to the wonders of the Beast World, like stones that changed color based on mood and vines that could produce beautiful music. Wen Qian listened, captivated, asking questions from time to time, which Chi Heng patiently answered.

When they arrived in front of an enclosure, Wen Qian stopped. Inside were Xuan Beasts just like hers, lazing about, rolling on the ground, and nudging the colorful flowers with their noses.

"This is the Beast Arena," Chi Heng explained gently. He then took a jade whistle, about the length of a pinky finger, from his pocket and handed it to Wen Qian. He explained softly, "This is a Bone Whistle. Every Bone Whistle has a different tone. If you let the Xuan Beast get familiar with its sound, from now on, it will fly to your side whenever you blow it."

Wen Qian toyed with the cool object, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. She gently placed it to her lips and blew. A beautiful, clear note rang out.

’It really does sound different from a normal whistle, but I’m still skeptical about how far the sound can travel. If I were a thousand miles away, how would the Xuan Beast hear it?’

"The sound of the Bone Whistle can travel through plants. Plus, Xuan Beasts have exceptional hearing and strong perception. Once it recognizes this sound, it will come no matter how far away you are." Chi Heng gave a small smile. He paused, then continued, "Of course, under normal circumstances, a Xuan Beast won’t stray too far from its master."

Just then, a Xuan Beast noticed Wen Qian’s arrival. It took flight from within the enclosure and then landed steadily in front of her, bending down to nudge the whistle in her hand with its snout.

Wen Qian understood. She immediately blew the whistle several more times, letting the beast familiarize itself with the sound.

The Xuan Beast seemed very interested in the whistle’s sound. It wagged its tail excitedly and let out a low growl. Chi Heng stood to the side, watching with great interest and a smile in his eyes. "I didn’t expect it to like you so much. Xuan Beasts are usually very proud. They are rarely this affectionate, even with their masters."

Wen Qian gently stroked the Xuan Beast’s head, her face beaming. "Maybe it’s fate."

’Although I can’t remember when I tamed this Xuan Beast... for now, it really seems to like me.’

Meanwhile, Chi Ye appeared from out of nowhere. He lazily watched the Xuan Beast and Wen Qian, then sidled up to Chi Heng and lowered his voice. "My dear nephew, the origin of this Xuan Beast is unknown... Isn’t it dangerous to let Wen Qian get so close to it?"

Chi Heng shook his head. "Don’t worry, Second Uncle. I’ll protect Qianqian."

Chi Ye looked at him with exasperation. He gritted his teeth and lowered his voice even more. "What I mean is... this Xuan Beast originally followed *that* person. What if one day it flies off and brings him back?"

Chi Ye couldn’t even imagine the scene: the Xuan Beast descending from the sky with Yin Zhi on its back. When that happened, who knew if his dear nephew would still be able to win the girl...

"I know." Chi Heng lowered his gaze. Then, under Chi Ye’s stare, he said softly, "I never planned on hiding it from her."

He just wanted to keep her by his side for now. After all, back on Blue Star, he’d never had the chance to treat her this well.

There were too many people around her back then. And because of how he’d hurt her at the beginning, he felt he was the last person who had any right to show his love for her.

Fortunately, fate was on his side. When they returned to the Beast World, he was the first one to find her. He was sure the other Beastmen were out searching for her right now, just like he had been. He couldn’t stop them. All he could do was cherish the time he had.
