My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 156: Rising Intimacy
Slumped defeatedly on the bed, Wen Qian was in no mood to wonder why none of her belongings were in the bedroom...
What she was thinking about now was whether these men knew what she was doing. And if he knew... then he must really, truly love her...
Someone knocked twice on the door. Even though it was his own room, Chi Heng seemed incredibly cautious.
Wen Qian froze for a moment before snapping out of it and rushing to open the door. The man’s handsome face came into view, making her gulp hard.
’She still couldn’t believe she’d managed to score someone this good before her amnesia...’
"Um..."
"You..."
"You first."
"No, you first..."
"..."
After a brief, awkward silence, Wen Qian cleared her throat. "What’s your name?"
"Chi Heng."
"Do you know how I got here?" Wen Qian considered for a moment; there were so many things she wanted to ask.
Chi Heng nodded and sat down on the sofa with Wen Qian. She propped her chin on one hand, gazing at him languidly, her eyes shimmering with anticipation.
He gave Wen Qian a general account of the events before the Beast World, deliberately leaving out a few key people, such as Yin Zhi and Gu Mian...
"You saved my life." As if recalling something, the man spoke again, his tone solemn. "And you’re the one I’ve chosen for myself."
A confession like that made Wen Qian’s heart pound and her cheeks flush. But when she remembered what she’d seen on her phone, she felt a twinge of guilt. She thought long and hard about it before deciding to come clean with Chi Heng.
"I know I don’t remember what happened before, but..."
She meekly took out her phone, opened the chat window, and held it out for Chi Heng to see.
She looked him in the eye, her expression grave. "I feel like this isn’t fair to you. It seems that, besides you, I... had relationships with them?"
His expression stiffened for a moment, but Chi Heng still took the phone. He scrolled through the contents expressionlessly, his knuckles turning faintly white.
His expression grew darker the more he read, but he persisted until he had seen everything. Handing the phone back to Wen Qian, the man struggled to pull the corners of his mouth into a smile.
’He hadn’t said a single word, but it only made Wen Qian feel worse. What a perfect boyfriend—so patient, so magnanimous, and so handsome it was overwhelming...’
Her gaze inadvertently swept over his collar, and she nearly started drooling.
’His body looked amazing, too.’
"Don’t worry, I’ll never do anything like this again!" She looked him in the eyes. As if afraid he wouldn’t believe her, she raised her hand over her head as if taking an oath. "Really!"
He took her hand, gently pulling it down. The man rested his chin on her shoulder, his voice incongruously soft for a man of his stature. "You don’t need to swear. Just promise me that you’ll never push me away, no matter what..."
"I promise." Wen Qian raised her arms and hugged the man tightly, not missing the chance to sneak a squeeze of his waist.
Chi Heng’s body instantly went rigid. He caught her questing hand. The man, who on any other day was as cold as snow on a mountain peak, now had eyes that were bottomless pools, like endless, swirling vortexes.
"Qianqian... you can be bolder, you know," Chi Heng’s voice was deep and bewitching as he guided her hand to his chest.
Beneath her palm, the man’s heart beat strong and fast, each thud sending a tremor through Wen Qian’s own heart.
She swallowed nervously again. Her mind was a jumbled mess, and she found herself truly curious about how her past self used to deal with this man.
’After all, since her amnesia, she had never been this intimate with Chi Heng...’
Chi Heng watched her—startled yet curious, like a little fawn—and a faint smile touched his lips. He leaned in and kissed her earlobe, his gentleness tinged with an air of absolute certainty, and whispered coaxingly, "I am entirely yours."
The man’s voice was scalding hot, boring straight into Wen Qian’s heart. Her fingers subconsciously clenched the corner of his shirt, the tips turning pale.
She mustered her courage and raised her gaze to meet Chi Heng’s profound eyes. In their inky depths, she saw only her own reflection.
She slowly pulled him closer. Just as she steeled her resolve, ready to make a move, an abrupt knock echoed through the room.
"Young Master, Young Madam, dinner is ready. Please make your way to the dining room."
The Attendant’s respectful voice from outside the door shattered the room’s intimate atmosphere in an instant.
A flicker of displeasure crossed Chi Heng’s eyes. He tightened his grip on Wen Qian’s hand, seemingly unwilling to let the beautiful moment be interrupted.
Wen Qian snapped out of her daze. Her face instantly turned crimson as she realized what she’d been about to do. As if grasping a lifeline, she frantically snatched her hand back, cheeks burning, and scrambled to her feet.
"Young Master, Young Madam..."
"Understood."
Though his words were directed at the person outside, the man’s deep eyes remained locked on Wen Qian, his voice still laced with a mix of unspent passion and annoyance.
He stood up and straightened his slightly wrinkled clothes. Then he walked to Wen Qian’s side, put a hand on her waist, and tucked the stray hairs at her cheeks behind her ear.
He gently lifted her chin, making her meet his gaze. The next second, his deep voice reached her ears. "Qianqian, we have all the time in the world."
The man’s gaze, filled with unwavering resolve and doting affection, sent Wen Qian’s heart racing wildly once more.
’See? Even with amnesia, she still couldn’t help but blush at the sight of a handsome man.’
The amorous tension in the air hadn’t completely faded, and for a moment, Wen Qian was at a loss for words. She only snapped out of it when Chi Heng proactively took her hand in his.
"Let’s eat first."
They walked to the dining room together, and all along the way, Wen Qian could feel Chi Heng’s scorching gaze periodically landing on her.
The dining room was magnificent. A splendid crystal chandelier hung from the high ceiling, bathing the entire space in a soft yet brilliant light that made it as bright as day.
The walls were adorned with exquisite murals depicting the magnificent scenes of the Wolf Clan’s ancestors fighting heroically, each detail so lifelike it seemed to be narrating an ancient legend.
Chi Heng’s father sat at the head of the table. He wore a fine beast-hide robe embroidered with intricate gold-thread patterns, underscoring his noble status within the Wolf Clan.
Chi Heng gently pulled out a chair for Wen Qian, who took a moment to process before slowly sitting down. Her gaze fell upon the table, which was polished to a mirror sheen, and she reflexively gulped.
The table was set with exquisite silverware and elegant stemmed glasses. The plates were laden with mouthwatering dishes, a feast for the eyes and nose. Wen Qian shifted cautiously in her seat, trying her best to appear composed, clearly stunned by the sheer luxury of it all.
"Qianqian, dear, don’t be so stiff. Try this dish. It’s a special delicacy of our Wolf Clan." The Wolf King smiled warmly at her, not a hint of solemnity in his expression.
