My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 155: Don’t Tell Me I Cheated
Fortunately, the Wolf Clan was extremely efficient. Before long, the silhouettes of Xuan Beasts began to appear in the sky, one after another... and on them, the Wolf Clan’s banners were faintly visible.
She peeked her head out and looked at the tall, imposing Wolf Clan Beastmen above. The powerful aura they exuded left her feeling a little breathless.
Just then, someone else began to eye her curiously. "Are you from the Hundred Bird Clan?"
Wen Qian froze for a second, then shook her head like a rattle. Still, she felt uncertain. She hugged Chi Heng’s arm and looked up at him with a pleading expression.
"You’re not," he said, patting her head soothingly. "You are just you. There’s no need to categorize you into a clan."
He then shot a warning glance at the Beastman opposite them, clearly displeased with his speculation about Wen Qian.
"I’m not from the Hundred Bird Clan," Wen Qian said, looking the Beastman in the eye again with certainty.
The Beastman didn’t dare press the issue of Wen Qian’s clan any further. He lowered his head and stepped aside.
’It seems the Young Master values this female very highly,’ he thought. ’She’s not someone we can make assumptions about.’
Although the Young Master had been away from the Wolf Clan for a long time, the legends about him had never faded. Everyone knew the clan had a certain someone who was heroic, skilled in battle, and the heir most valued by the Wolf King...
Chi Heng’s disappearance had caused a huge sensation in the Beast World back then. To find his son, the Wolf King had practically turned Blue Star upside down.
Even after so many years, the Wolf King had never given up the search for the Young Master... He declared he wanted to see him, dead or alive, and would never rashly pass the throne to someone else.
Of course, besides Chi Heng, there was truly no one else worthy of the throne.
Speaking of the other four young masters in the family...
The eldest was gay.
The second was a nocturnal drunkard who loved to gamble.
The third had married into his wife’s family.
The fourth was a world traveler, seeking only wind and freedom.
Finally, there was Chi Heng, the fifth son, who actually had his act together. His combat prowess was off the charts, he had no bad habits, and while his sexual orientation had been unknown, it was looking pretty clear now... The Wolf King naturally couldn’t let him go.
He couldn’t possibly pass the throne to an outsider, could he?
"My son!" a tall man wailed as he leaped from a Xuan Beast and lunged toward Chi Heng. "Your father missed you to death!" Chi Heng reached out to steady him, but noticed his eyes kept darting past him.
He immediately took a step to the side, completely blocking Wen Qian from view.
"And who is that?" The Wolf King’s eyes lit up, as if he could already envision himself holding a grandchild.
Wen Qian glanced cautiously at Chi Heng, but he spoke before she could. "Father, let’s head back first."
"No rush, no rush..."
"It’s urgent. Very urgent."
With that, he gestured for someone nearby to hang a pass around the neck of Wen Qian’s Xuan Beast. Then, he swept her up with one arm and leaped directly onto the beast’s back.
"That brat!" the Wolf King cursed, his dignified image completely gone. He then grabbed the fourth son, who was standing nearby. He glared and said, "You have three minutes. I want all the information on that female."
The fourth son, who had just returned from a half-month stay on Blue Star, looked bewildered. "A... a CEO?"
"What CEO?" the Wolf King frowned.
"..."
After passing through a dense forest, a mysterious and solemn ancient castle suddenly appeared before their eyes.
The Xuan Beast slowly descended, landing at the entrance of the magnificent palace. Wen Qian looked up and couldn’t help but gasp in awe.
The ancient castle soared into the clouds, exuding a chilly, somber aura. Its walls were covered in dark green vines that swayed gently in the wind, as if whispering ancient stories.
The guards on either side stood ramrod straight, weapons in hand. They showed surprise upon seeing Chi Heng but immediately bowed respectfully.
Holding Wen Qian’s hand tightly, Chi Heng was the first to step into the castle.
The inside of the castle was as bright as day. A huge crystal chandelier displayed its magnificent splendor. In stark contrast to the exterior, the interior was filled with exquisite European-style decorations. The portraits hanging in the main hall revealed the superb skill of the painter.
Chi Heng settled Wen Qian in his own room. He then went to see his father and brothers. After catching up, he told his father Wen Qian’s identity to prevent him from wasting effort by having her investigated again.
"So, what are your intentions?" The Wolf King didn’t press further about Wen Qian’s identity. He gripped his son’s hand tightly, his eyes sincere. "As long as you’re not like your eldest brother, your father can agree to anything..."
He considered four of his five sons to be lost causes. After his youngest son disappeared, the Wolf King had spent his days questioning his life. He truly didn’t know how he would face his queen in the afterlife a hundred years from now.
’If she knew he’d raised their sons like this, she probably wouldn’t have had the heart to leave so early...’
At this thought, the Wolf King sighed again.
"I like her, it’s just..."
"She doesn’t like you?"
"I don’t know."
"How can you not know!"
Looking at Chi Heng with utter disappointment, the Wolf King dragged him to the study and dug out a series of "peerless books" he had treasured over the years.
"Learn! Learn it all for my sake!"
He refused to believe that with all these dating manuals, his son could still fail to win over a single human.
Chi Heng really wanted to tell him that the problem might not be so simple. If he formed a Contract with Wen Qian, the Young Master of the Tiger Clan and that person from the Gu Family would probably charge right over... Oh, right, and the foxes.
He didn’t mind, but he was afraid his old father’s heart couldn’t take it.
"Fine."
Though he thought this, Chi Heng still agreed quietly.
Left alone and bored, Wen Qian wandered around the room. He had said that she had always lived here with him, but why wasn’t there a single feminine item in the room?
’But I really can’t think of a reason why he would lie to me... After all, he seems quite rich.’
As if remembering something, Wen Qian reached for her pocket. After pulling the zipper, she actually managed to fish out her phone.
No signal. No internet.
And only one bar of battery left.
But she still quickly opened her most-used social media app, trying to find some answers...
’Wait, why are there so many strange men on my friends list?!’
’And the messages are so explicit!’
’Who is this handsome guy...?’
’And who’s this white-haired pretty boy?’
’This guy looks like a movie star!’
"Damn, Wen Qian, were you eating this well before you lost your memory...?"
The woman gulped and muttered to herself.
But she quickly sensed that something was wrong. If what Chi Heng said was true, that she had always lived with him, then what were all these messages on her phone...?
’No way... Could it be that I cheated on him?!’
’But I can’t just conclude I did something so immoral based on a few photos... Taking a huge step back, can’t we all just be good friends who have kissed?’
She quickly scrolled through the page and landed on a picture of a man with his chest exposed. Taking one look at the lipstick mark on it, okay, her last shred of hope died completely.
’Wen Qian, you’ve really outdone yourself...’
