My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 154: Returning to the Wolf Clan
Dandelion seeds drifted down on the spring breeze, spreading out lightly like a sky full of falling snow.
Before long, a short distance from Wen Qian, the white, fluffy tufts began to slowly converge, gradually outlining the shape of a giant rabbit half a meter long.
Its form slowly solidified. Its ears twitched lightly, and it tilted its head to one side, curiously observing this strange yet familiar world.
When its ruby-like eyes caught sight of Wen Qian, they instantly flashed with delighted surprise, and its entire body trembled slightly with excitement.
Almost at the same time, faint lights began to flicker all around, like stars being ignited one after another. More of its kind, resurrected from dandelions, began to appear. They leaped about joyfully, like a troupe of nimble sprites, and quickly gathered around the first rabbit to be born.
"Wow, what a cute rabbit!" Wen Qian had clearly noticed the scene as well. She lowered the hand that had been touching the Elf, her eyes filled with surprise and curiosity.
She scrambled to her feet and subconsciously glanced in that direction. The rabbit, overjoyed, prepared to hop toward her. However, the Wolf Clan Beastman beside her instantly tensed, instinctively pulling Wen Qian securely behind him.
With a swift, fluid motion, he scooped up Wen Qian and placed her on the Xuan Beast’s broad back. The next second, the man vaulted up behind her.
Wen Qian was an extremely special existence in the Beast World. To ensure her safety, he absolutely could not let other Beastmen set their sights on her.
The Xuan Beast felt the weight on its back, letting out a low whinny and pawing restlessly at the ground. Though somewhat reluctant, Wen Qian obediently hugged the Xuan Beast’s neck under the man’s commanding presence.
She peered past the throng of figures at the rabbit, now surrounded by its companions. The rabbit, too, was staring intently at Wen Qian, its eyes filled with reluctance and longing.
But in the end, it didn’t move forward, only watching as Wen Qian departed with the Wolf Clan Beastman, growing ever more distant.
’Now that you’ve returned to the Beast World, little master, we’ll surely meet again.’
"Wh-where are we going?"
Spreading its wings to their full extent, the Xuan Beast soared through the sky, carrying the two of them. Wen Qian looked down at the world below, her thoughts a tangled mess.
"Home," the man said in a low voice, his arm wrapped around her waist.
"H-home..."
She repeated the word in a low voice, subconsciously glancing to her side. ’My home is in an apartment complex,’ she thought. ’This is clearly a primeval forest... Is he sure my home is here?’
"Yes." The man affectionately rested his chin on the crown of her head. "Back to our home."
"No, wait a minute... Where on earth is this!" Wen Qian struggled to turn around, but the man’s grip on her waist held her firmly in place.
"This is the Beast World, Qianqian," the man said, giving her waist a reassuring squeeze. "It’s a bit different from where you used to live."
Her expression froze for a moment. Wen Qian instinctively tightened her grip on the man’s arm, partly from fear of the unfamiliar term "Beast World," and partly as a natural reaction to her fear of heights.
By now, she could no longer make out the scenery below, but her mind was still too jumbled to think. The landscape blurred past them, and everything felt so unreal. She had so many questions. ’And though I hate to admit it,’ she thought, ’it seems like I’ve really forgotten something.’
"We live together?" ’Even if it’s a stupid question to ask,’ she thought.
The man tilted his head slightly, an unreadable emotion flickering in his eyes. "Yes. We have. For a very long time."
"..."
"You really don’t remember anything at all?" Chi Heng asked.
"Not exactly... I remember my childhood and my school days perfectly."
’It’s just... I don’t remember any of this. Not the giant beast beneath me, or the man with wolf ears behind me. Is this some kind of fantasy movie? I feel like these kinds of plot twists only happen in films...’
Wen Qian bit her lip. Her mind was filled with questions, but she didn’t know where to begin.
Before long, they arrived at a valley.
The valley was filled with strange plants. Some shimmered with a faint glow, while others exuded a delicate fragrance. The Xuan Beast descended slowly, the wind from its wings parting the wildflowers below...
The man grasped Wen Qian’s waist with one hand, lifting her from the great beast with ease. He then vaulted down, landing steadily on the ground.
The moment Wen Qian’s feet touched the ground, her eyes widened in astonishment at the sight before her.
Hidden in the valley was an ancient encampment of the Wolf Clan, filled with mysterious runes and powerful defenses left behind by their ancestors.
A massive, ancient castle towered over the back of the encampment, majestic and solemn. Wen Qian stared in silence, feeling it was all increasingly unreal. She had lost count of how many times she wondered if she was dreaming...
As his clansmen began to gather around enthusiastically, Chi Heng gently patted Wen Qian, who was hiding behind him, and whispered, "Don’t be afraid."
Wen Qian nodded instinctively, but her hands still tightly clutched the man’s clothes. She tried to shrink into herself, to make herself as small as possible, because she had just realized that everyone here except for her... had beast ears and tails.
’And their clothes... They’re so revealing.’
A quick glance at the Beastmens’ bare chests made Wen Qian’s face flush.
"You..."
A slightly older man pushed through the crowd and rushed forward. His eyes reddened when he got a clear look at Chi Heng’s face.
He had been gone for so long that, for a moment, no one could be sure it was him.
After scrutinizing him for a long moment, the man’s face finally broke into a delighted grin. "Young Master, it’s really you! You’ve been gone for so long! The whole clan has been worried sick. We thought you..."
"Hey, and this is... the female you brought with you?"
"How can she be so petite..."
Sensing all eyes on her, Wen Qian grew even more nervous and pressed herself against Chi Heng. She could tell these people meant no harm, but seeing so many unfamiliar faces still terrified her.
His gaze swept over his clansmen. Chi Heng’s voice was calm but firm. "You’re scaring her."
Only then did the clansmen realize their breach of etiquette and fall silent, though their curious gazes continued to drift over Wen Qian.
Just then, another elder Beastman stepped forward. His gaze fell upon Wen Qian, his eyes full of scrutiny. Chi Heng gave a slight nod and said, "Her name is Wen Qian. She is mine."
As soon as he spoke, a wave of whispers rippled through the crowd.
The long-lost young master had suddenly returned to the encampment, and with such a petite female in tow. Could it be...
"I’ll go inform His Highness the Wolf King at once!" The Beastman’s face lit up with joy. He immediately summoned his mount and flew toward the castle.
The Xuan Beast was not a mount of the Wolf Clan; flying any higher would get it shot down by the clan’s warriors. That was why Chi Heng had to land and bring her to the encampment to be announced.
