Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 596: Adrian... Mmm... I Feel So Dizzy...
Apart from the desserts and fruits, Cecilia Vaughn initially intended to finish all the food, but when she actually started eating, she discovered.
Why is the food at New Century Hotel served in such generous portions!
This is utterly illogical!
In the past, no matter which high-end restaurant she visited, the signature dishes always looked beautiful and exquisite, but the so-called main course would be just two or three spoonfuls, all adorned with beautifully carved fruits and vegetables, which were essentially inedible.
And now...
Looking at the very substantial Australian lobster in front of her, Cecilia felt full even before she started eating.
Just as Cecilia was about to persuade herself not to waste food, Adrian Law’s chopsticks swiftly stopped her.
"Cecilia, it’s time for us to go home..."
Staring at the table full of dishes, some of which she hadn’t even tasted, Cecilia suddenly felt like crying.
Ah, ah, ah, even though this hotel is under Adrian Law’s management, why does she feel so guilty?
...
Cecilia was internally conflicted.
Meanwhile, Adrian Law had already gently pressed the bell on the dining table.
"Waiter, we need to pack these up."
The waiter who came in almost widened his eyes upon hearing Adrian’s carefree decision.
"Mr. Law, are you sure?"
The waiter evidently doubted life more than Cecilia, as Adrian Law is the anonymous owner of this hotel, and even if not, given his status as The Eldest Young Master Law, how could he be so frugal like an ordinary person?
...
The waiter felt a collapse of his worldview. It wasn’t that he hadn’t seen thrifty wealthy folks, but most of those tycoons came from the sixties or seventies and had lived through great famines. Adrian Law, elegant and refined as the breeze and moon, certainly didn’t seem to have such down-to-earth character traits.
Cecilia noticed the waiter’s skeptical gaze, and a sheepish smile graced her face.
"Umm... we are sure about packing, and could you also send the untouched main course and those desserts via a local courier to this address?"
Cecilia handed the waiter the address and also pulled out her wallet to tip him two hundred bucks.
The waiter promptly stopped being concerned about Adrian’s packing request.
Uh... although this "sending food to a friend" operation hardly seems like something the Crown Prince of The Law Group would do.
Yet aside from the oddness, there’s a strange sense of pride, what’s up with that?
Turns out, perhaps they aren’t entirely different from the Crown Prince of The Law Group, at least they all cherish food.
If the waiter knew this was Cecilia’s "bad idea," he might laugh himself dizzy in the restroom.
The Eldest Young Master Law acquired a new trait, a wife-doting demon!
Round it off, isn’t this considered fearing the wife?
Being scared of the wife is not exclusive to the average person.
╭(╯^╰)╮.
...
Although the waiter didn’t utter a word upon leaving, the shock in his eyes conveyed all emotions.
The more Cecilia thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt. She tugged at Adrian’s sleeve.
"Adrian, won’t this make you lose face if this matter gets spread around?"
Would others mock Adrian Law for becoming petty ever since marrying her?
Ah, a headache.
Adrian looked at the girl’s anxious eyelashes and lightly flicked Cecilia’s forehead.
"You’re overthinking again; isn’t this us responding to the upper echelon’s Empty Plate Campaign?"
"..."
Why does that actually make a lot of sense?
I find myself speechless.
Adrian Law’s eyes, half-smiling, locked onto the girl’s face.
"If anyone gossips, they’d be endorsing extravagant waste; I doubt such people would go far."
Observing Adrian’s cunning smile, Cecilia inexplicably felt a cool breeze brush past.
"Eh... why do I feel that lifestyle choices can even become a reason for blacklisting someone."
"When you want to accuse someone, any excuse will do."
The man casually cast those eight words, and although this wasn’t quite suited for the situation, after Cecilia’s imagination ran wild, she ended up understanding Adrian’s point.
"Being your enemy must be exhausting."
Cecilia concluded sympathetically.
"So, you will always stand by my side."
Adrian Law gave a gentle smile and casually picked up a bottle of fruit wine.
"Come on, let’s head home."
Since neither of them planned to hire a chauffeur, and Adrian was too lazy to let Wyatt Law come to take them back to Starfall Bay, the dinner table was alcohol-free.
At this moment, noticing the color of the wine, Cecilia let out a surprised "Eh".
"Why is this wine light green?"
"Fruit wine, it’s mixed. Low alcohol content; want to try some?"
Adrian Law looked at Cecilia with great interest.
Cecilia knew she wasn’t the type to handle alcohol well, being easily intoxicated after just three drinks. But with Adrian by her side and since today was a day worth celebrating, she couldn’t help but pick up a goblet and poured herself a full glass.
"Sure, I’ll drink this; you feel free to try some once we’re home."
...
The girl downed the drink in one go; the taste of this fruit wine was unlike any red wine, possessing an extremely sweet aroma lingering in the mouth with a gentle sourness that was tangy but not harsh, sweet, not cloying, and simply delightful.
"I want another glass! This fruit wine is just like juice!"
Cecilia blinked excitedly; those clear eyes seemed to shine with countless fluorescent lights, unknowingly captivating someone’s gaze.
Adrian Law gently advised.
"Cecilia, don’t drink more; despite its low alcohol content, you still shouldn’t overindulge."
"Just one more glass!"
Cecilia defied the warning, insisting on pouring more wine. Adrian momentarily stood by without intervening.
Cecilia drank the second glass.
Then began feeling dizzy, unable to clearly make out the man’s features.
"Hic..."
Cecilia hiccuped from the alcohol, feeling intensely embarrassed, yet her head still felt groggy as a cool breeze wafted through.
"Alright, no more. Let’s go home."
"Okay."
...
The man tenderly supported his now tipsy wife.
Carefully placing her in the passenger seat and securing her seatbelt, he then sped towards Starfall Bay.
But twenty minutes later, they had only just reached the underground parking garage.
Adrian Law was preparing to get up and unfasten Cecilia’s seatbelt, only to find that the little drunken troublemaker had somehow freed herself, unhappily scrambling towards him, using both her hands and feet.
"..."
Adrian chuckled upon witnessing this scene.
He suddenly wanted to pull out his phone to photograph this moment and tease Cecilia.
But just as he opened the camera app, Cecilia knocked it out of his hand.
"Mmm... Adrian, why are you looking at other things and not at me..."
With alcohol bolstering her courage, the girl slipped into the man’s arms, her lips recklessly kissing his Adam’s apple.
