Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!
Chapter 595: The Perfect Husband at Home
The girl hooked her hands around the man’s neck, and under his surprised gaze, she stood on tiptoe and slowly pressed her thin lips forward.
However, what made Cecilia feel extremely embarrassed was that Adrian Law was too tall, and she didn’t wear high heels today, resulting in her not being able to kiss the man’s lips, only barely touching his elegantly contoured jawline.
Finally taking the initiative, but ending up making such a joke!
Cecilia felt both ashamed and irritated, and gave Adrian a resentful look.
"Can’t you lower your head a bit to accommodate me? I couldn’t even kiss you."
The man stared at Cecilia’s reddened earlobes, an intriguing smile curled at the corner of his lips.
"I’m just completely mesmerized by Cecilia."
"..."
Does this man’s tongue have honey on it? How can he be so sweet?
...
Cecilia’s feelings of annoyance dissipated a bit, but when she saw Adrian’s smiling and charming eyes, she awkwardly released his shoulder and neck.
"Hmph, I don’t believe a word you say. I’m hungry; I want to eat."
To Cecilia’s surprise, Adrian didn’t utter warm words or hold her in his arms as usual, but instead gracefully pulled out a chair.
"Mrs. Law, please."
Cecilia looked at him in astonishment, feeling a bit odd.
"Adrian, usually at this moment, I feel like you would definitely pin me down and kiss me. Has my charm diminished?"
Cecilia anxiously glanced at her still-reducing belly which hadn’t regained its abs line, feeling inexplicably uneasy.
...
"Silly girl."
Adrian reached out and affectionately ruffled the girl’s hair.
"Though you’re as attractive as a meal, this is after all a hotel..."
Cecilia felt embarrassed, glancing around the empty surroundings, realizing they were alone except for Adrian. This really wasn’t Adrian’s usual style.
As if in response to Adrian’s words, there was a gentle knock on the door from outside.
"Mr. Law, the two desserts and four side dishes you ordered have arrived. May I serve them?"
"Alright."
Adrian answered softly, pressing some button on the table, and the previously tightly closed door suddenly opened.
Waiters dressed in red and white uniforms filed in, each holding silver trays, looking quite stunning.
...
Cecilia frowned unconsciously.
She had already seen a large table of food placed before, and didn’t expect the dishes weren’t all served yet.
When the waiters left, Cecilia hesitantly pointed to the full table of dishes, her expression peculiar.
"Adrian, are you sure we’re the only ones eating today? How come I feel even five or six people couldn’t finish this?"
"..."
It’s no wonder Cecilia had to ruin the festive atmosphere by asking this question, as she had been taught since childhood by her mother and grandfather that every grain of rice on the table came through hard work, so no matter where she went, she always retained a thrifty nature and disliked wasteful scenes.
With their appetite, they could probably only finish half of it.
Adrian reached out and rubbed his little wife’s sideburns, smiling helplessly.
"Alright, if we can’t finish, we can pack it up, is that acceptable?"
Adrian understood Cecilia’s habits, but earlier he wanted to make this a grand event since it’s their three-month wedding anniversary, and he wasn’t like Cecilia who had suffered hardships as a child.
...
"Pack it up?"
Cecilia said, scanning the food, a look of conflict evident between her brows.
"I feel like making the president stoop to pack food would seem very..."
Cecilia considered for a moment but couldn’t find the right word.
But the inexplainable look in her eyes already said it all.
...
Adrian seemed to completely ignore the conflict in Cecilia’s eyes and directly concluded.
"Very down-to-earth, isn’t it?"
"Pfft..."
Down-to-earth...
Cecilia laughed and poked the man’s arm, both amused and speechless.
"Alright, alright, you have a point. There are still many desserts here, I’ll have them delivered to Mona Summers later."
Cecilia glanced over the full table of dishes and recalled the empty ground floor lobby she saw earlier. This hotel must have been booked entirely by Adrian, and the financially savvy Cecilia thickened her face and carefully asked.
"Adrian, how much did it cost to book this hotel? I’m thinking it feels painful, actually, the cook here may not even be as good as you, and besides, we could have chosen to eat at the Splendid Pavilion..."
Because the Splendid Pavilion is Adrian’s industry, Cecilia silently thought about saving money.
Ah, Cecilia, the miser with extreme penny-pinching.
...
Adrian saw his little wife’s cheeks puffed up yet embarrassed to directly say it’s too expensive, and shook his head in amusement.
"I already acquired this New Century Hotel a couple of days ago..."
"So, it’s free?"
Cecilia was stupefied?
"You could say that."
"..."
Cecilia took two seconds for mental preparation, quickly feeling that her legs weren’t sore and her waist wasn’t aching anymore.
"Come on, let’s start, I’m hungry!"
"Okay."
Adrian knew Cecilia was just that kind of down-to-earth girl. If it were Tyson, upon hearing Cecilia’s comments, he might disdain her as being materialistic or vulgar. However, Adrian felt deeply heartfelt tenderness and affection for such a Cecilia.
Despite growing up in the Law Family without receiving enough affection from his father, Adrian was the eldest son and his mother Susan Roswell had shaken up the business world, so Adrian and his younger sister Nancy Law had never lacked money from childhood.
Nor would they think of what it tastes like to economize and endure hardships.
While Adrian isn’t someone who wastes extravagantly, he’s definitely not of a thrifty nature.
He wouldn’t think of saving money when going to restaurants, even if he only tasted one bite of each dish, he wouldn’t consider packing it.
But because he chose to be with Cecilia, things that he initially couldn’t understand have become natural, as if it was always meant to be this way to be right.
...
Adrian gazed at the girl’s delighted brow and eyes, the arc of the smile on his lips grew deeper.
"Cecilia, try this fermented rice dumpling."
"Okay."
The man scooped one dumpling and fed it to the girl’s lips.
Cecilia was initially embarrassed but considering there was no one around, and today was their wedding anniversary, she tentatively opened her mouth and swallowed the delicious spoonful.
"Mm, it’s really good. I was worried it’d be too hot."
"I had the chef adjust the temperature first."
"..."
You’re truly attentive.
...
Cecilia more and more feels that she ought to be the rough one...
Waaa... Her husband understands more about the details than she does, life feels so frustrating!
