Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1103 - 1112: He Has Always Been Like This

As they were going up the steps, Serena Sullivan, at the back, saw Simon Sterling carefully supporting Claire Sullivan, and Claire returned him a gentle gaze with a hint of girlish endearment.

This interaction caught Serena’s eye, and she involuntarily slowed her pace.

Since Simon Sterling and Claire Sullivan got together, they resembled both an old couple and a newlywed pair, all in all, their rapport seemed somewhat "sticky."

"Serena, what are you looking at? Watch the steps!"

Ethan Grant sensed Serena’s unusual behavior and asked with confusion.

Serena’s gaze shifted away from Claire’s slightly concealed abdomen, and she cautiously followed everyone into the dining room.

In the dining room, the place that used to be June Kane’s was now reserved for Claire Sullivan.

During the meal, all eyes were on a certain pair, not Ethan Grant and Serena Sullivan, but Simon Sterling and Claire Sullivan.

Claire whispered something to Simon, who elegantly picked a piece of fish into a bowl, then meticulously removed the bones, before serving it to Claire.

This fish was delicious, but the bones were very fine, and Simon was very careful in removing them.

After Claire ate the fish, she said something else to Simon.

Simon raised his hand, picked four or five shrimps into a bowl, and carefully peeled the shells for Claire, wearing disposable gloves.

Serena was transfixed as she watched, and so were the others.

This caring and attentive service toward his wife had never been seen before with the First Mr. Sterling.

His nerve was rough; he could cook in the kitchen, but having him pick out bones or peel shrimp for the First Mrs. Sterling would probably result in finished food that she wouldn’t dare eat.

The patriarch of the Sterling Family held heavy machismo; not only was peeling shrimp for the First Mrs. Sterling unthinkable, but even serving dishes was impossible.

Simon was at the table, not eating much, listening to Claire and attending to her.

Claire appeared entirely unembarrassed, fully enjoying everything Simon provided, giving an impression that it had always been this way between them.

"My hand’s dirty."

After a moment, Claire presented her hand stained with soup to Simon, who pulled out a napkin and wiped it clean for her.

"Anything else you’d like to eat?"

The voice was so gentle that it made Serena’s skin tingle; her father was a cold and aloof exquisite man, who had managed The Sterling Corporation for many years, with a dignified presence that carried a strong sense of oppression.

But here with Claire, it was as if he had become another person.

The face hadn’t changed, nor had his smile increased, yet it gave an unimaginably gentle feeling!

"I’m having some soup."

Claire said.

Upon saying this, Simon rolled up his sleeves and took the ladle from Ethan Grant’s hand, rising to serve Claire some chicken soup.

Once he had filled her bowl, he didn’t serve it directly to her. Instead, he gently stirred the soup in the bowl with the spoon, cooling it so it wouldn’t burn Claire.

This attention to detail and tenderness made even Ethan feel he should learn from him.

The Sterling Family had never seen Simon like this.

His marriage with June Kane had been harmonious, likely respectful and polite.

This is the difference between loving and not loving!

"What are you all looking at?"

Claire noticed everyone at the table staring at her and asked with curiosity.

"When did Daddy become so attentive?"

Serena smiled teasingly as she spoke.

Simon had always been too aloof, like something unattainable on a snowy mountain. Now, suddenly realizing he could care for someone and constantly please the one he loved, who wouldn’t find this peculiar?

Has Simon changed?

Or is it...

"Hmm, hasn’t he always been like this?"

Claire replied casually.
