Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

She turned her head to look at Simon Sterling. Their eyes met, and the warmth flowing in both their gazes made their hearts tremble quickly in that moment.

Yes, this had always been the way they got along.

Twenty years ago, Simon had already been this gentle and meticulous with her. In front of him, she could act spoiled as much as she wanted, and he would always take care of her feelings in every way, letting her make a fuss.

As for Simon, maybe that first spark of liking him was because she was bewitched by his looks.

Then the second glance, and all the infatuation that followed, and the love that turned into hate?

It was because of the way he pampered her, leaving her no way to ever find a second Simon.

"He’s always treated me like this." Claire Sullivan softened her voice. As she answered, a blush rose on her cheeks.

The two of them had reconciled and gotten back together, thinking it would be hard to return to how things were in the past. Who would’ve thought that so soon, they’d already found that original feeling again.

Since that’s the case, just let things take their course and cherish each other twice as much.

"Mm!"

Simon was much more at ease than Claire; he was still peeling shrimp for her.

The shrimp were peeled clean and white. As he put them into Claire’s bowl, he wiped his hands with a wet towel and glanced around, sweeping his gaze over everyone at the table.

"We’re missing Luke and the others."

"But it doesn’t matter whether we announce this early or late."

Simon’s words made everyone look up at them in confusion. After watching them show off a wave of affection, what else could they have to say?

Got the certificate?

Going to make up for the wedding?

"We do need to have a wedding!" said the old Mrs. Sterling. Her attitude toward Claire as a daughter-in-law was the same as the old Mr. Sterling’s.

She’s already given the Sterling Family a son and a daughter—what is there left to oppose?

If they hadn’t been framed and torn apart by the Kane Family back then, she would’ve long since been one of the Sterlings.

"It’s not the wedding!"

Simon replied in a mild tone, but Claire at his side grew anxious. "Simon."

"Let’s talk about it later, they’re all here anyway!"

As she spoke in a low voice, her cheeks were clearly heating up, turning red.

"They should all know." Simon turned his hand over to clasp hers, utterly calm.

Everyone was baffled by the two of them. What kind of matter would make Simon insist on announcing it so seriously at the dinner table?

"Claire and I will be living in the Imperial Capital long-term from now on. Her health isn’t very good, and she needs me to take care of her."

"Mom, what’s wrong with you?" Serena Sullivan asked first. She looked at Claire’s rosy complexion and couldn’t see anything wrong.

Suddenly, Serena thought of something. Her gaze dropped downward, landing on Claire’s lower abdomen.

Claire, who loved wearing qipaos, had come to the Sterling Residence in a different style this time, dressed in a loose long dress, and she wasn’t even wearing high heels.

Claire was even more vain than Serena. Normally, besides watching her diet and exercising to keep her figure, she cared a great deal about her appearance. At The Sullivan Residence, there was a room left empty specifically for Claire to store her high heels.

"Mm." Simon noticed that Serena had realized something. He turned his head and looked at his beloved daughter, saying, "Serena, will this make you upset?"

Serena knew her guess was right. She asked joyfully, "Really?"

"Why would I be upset? I just think it’s all so sudden."

No—the truth was that Simon and Claire were no longer young, and yet they could still give her a younger brother or sister.

"What exactly is going on?"

Across from them, Mr. Sterling and First Mrs. Sterling had their curiosity piqued by Simon’s words. He had said half and then stopped, and the two of them were quite anxious.

"We’ve given Serena and Luke a little brother."

Simon spoke with an air of calm, though there was a note of lightness in his tone.

"A little brother?"
