“Okay, your uncle will give Robert a shoulder ride now.” Joseph Lancaster lifted Robert Lancaster up and let him sit on his shoulders.

The little guy, not yet three years old, clung to Joseph Lancaster’s forehead, grinning proudly, with his little feet dangling in the shoulder hollows.

Violet Zimmerman was being helped into Daxton Lancaster’s car by her sister-in-law, while Lorelei Howard, holding her grandson, sat in the back seat. Only Robert Lancaster rode with his uncle.

Worried the little guy might misbehave, Joseph Lancaster fastened his seatbelt and repeatedly advised, “Robert, you need to listen when your uncle is driving, otherwise it will be dangerous, and your uncle won’t be able to take you to see the gorillas.”

After Joseph Lancaster finished advising, the little guy nodded vigorously, “Okay!”

Robert Lancaster, just over two years old, had his own room. At night, seeing his brother live with Dad and Mom, the little guy felt quite envious.

Holding his little pillow, he pushed open his parents’ room door. Dressed in pajamas with little animal patterns, the little guy stood at the door with his pillow, “Dad, Mom, Robert wants to sleep with my brother.”

It must be admitted, Daxton Lancaster’s education of his children was successful. The little guy, not yet three years old, already understood to discuss things with adults before acting.

Violet Zimmerman sat on the bed, feeding Evander Lancaster, and seeing her son appear at the door, she called out, “Robert, come to Mama.” Daxton, busy preparing the crib, had the little blanket ready by the time Robert walked in.

Seeing his son climbing onto the bed with his little bottom up, he picked him up.

Robert Lancaster sat cross-legged facing Violet Zimmerman, “Mama, Robert wants to sleep with my brother.”

Knowing his son’s intentions, Violet Zimmerman looked to Daxton Lancaster for help.

“Daxton, let Robert sleep with us for now. When Evander is older, let the two brothers share a room.”

Robert Lancaster sat facing Violet Zimmerman, his Phoenix eyes fixed on the nipple Evander was suckling from, unconsciously licking his lips and swallowing, a cute gesture noticed by Daxton Lancaster.

Sitting sideways on the bed, he lifted Robert Lancaster onto his lap and asked with a smile, “Does Robert want to sleep with his brother or with Mom and Dad?”

Not knowing how to hide, the child, Robert Lancaster leaned his face back looking at Dad, “Wherever my brother sleeps, that’s where I want to sleep.”

“So, if your brother drinks milk, does Robert want to drink milk too?” Daxton Lancaster softened his tone, sounding very coaxing.

Robert Lancaster shook his head, “Robert is grown up, I can eat food, my brother is still small.”

Surprised the little one understood, Daxton Lancaster asked curiously, “Who told Robert?”

“Grandma told Robert when she took me to the hospital to see Mom and my brother.”

“Robert is right, your brother is still small, he can only drink Mom’s milk right now.” Daxton Lancaster happily lifted Robert up, letting him straddle his shoulder, seemingly very satisfied with the answer.

Getting up off the bed, he walked around the room holding his son’s little hands, “Dad gives Robert shoulder rides. When my brother grows up, Robert should take care of him because Robert is the big brother…”

“Dad, Robert wants to ride a big horse!”

“Okay, Dad will be Robert’s big horse.” Daxton Lancaster put the little guy down from his shoulder and then crawled on the floor, waiting for the little guy to climb up before rising.

Almost as soon as Daxton Lancaster got up, the little guy stomped his legs and shouted, “Giddy-up~”

Watching the father and son happily playing on the floor, Violet Zimmerman couldn’t help but smile.

…

After the New Year, Lorelei Howard started arranging blind dates for her second son again. At first, Joseph Lancaster would go through the motions, but now, he was unwilling to even do that, directly refusing.

“Mom, I haven’t had enough fun yet, I don’t want to get married so early!”

“You little brat! What’s so fun about it! Already twenty-four, if you don’t find a wife soon, you’ll be a bachelor!” Of course, Lorelei Howard wouldn’t agree, so Joseph Lancaster sought his father’s help.

“Dad, can you advise Mom not to always judge things from your generation’s perspective? Marrying a wife isn’t child’s play; it’s for a lifetime. I have to choose someone who makes me feel good, or else, wouldn’t you say, living a lifetime would be stifling!”

Just as Joseph Lancaster finished saying this, Bodhi Lancaster nodded in agreement, turning to speak to his wife seriously.

“Lorelei, Joseph is right, marrying a wife means living together, it’s not like buying clothes that you can throw away if you don’t like them. Stop worrying so much, let Joseph choose for himself. Maybe he’ll suddenly bring a girl home that he’s interested in.”

“Fine, fine, I’m not going to bother anymore. Just keep spoiling your son! I’m going to see my grandson!”

Saying this, Lorelei Howard grumbled a bit and got up, taking her coat and heading to the door.

Joseph Lancaster called out behind her, “Mom, Bob and Evander are with Grandpa today!”

“Ah, I know that! You spare more thoughts for your brother, but caring about your own marriage wouldn’t hurt either!”

Lorelei Howard said while leaving the house.

Men often focus on their careers, Bodhi Lancaster was not worried about his son’s marriage, only Lorelei Howard never stopped with the engagement talks despite not arranging blind dates recently.

Joseph Lancaster always said he hasn’t yet met someone who made his heart flutter.

Although Daxton Lancaster was never directly involved in these matters, he vaguely knew the reasons why.

Joseph Lancaster once promised Violet Zimmerman that as long as his brother Joseph Lancaster wasn’t married, their relationship could continue. Although nothing happened between the uncle and sister-in-law after Evander was born, Daxton Lancaster believed that was merely a facade. Each year, he had several business trips; during those times, they could do whatever in secret, pretending to keep their distance while he was home.

Cleverly building a bridge in daylight while crossing the river in darkness, their tricks didn’t fool his eyes!
