Daxton Lancaster was asleep, sleeping soundly, even snoring.

Violet Zimmerman, however, was suffering from insomnia, without a trace of sleepiness. Her mind kept replaying Daxton Lancaster’s sigh, Violet... your body is so soft...

The drunken man was gently rubbing against her, using that part of his existence that was low in presence.

Violet Zimmerman found it odd too; he had been rubbing for so long without any change. Normally, even a child would react if lightly teased.

But Daxton Lancaster...

Later, he fell asleep, draped over her, murmuring "Love you" in his dreams.

Upon hearing that, Violet Zimmerman suddenly felt a sense of betrayal. Not only had she had an encounter with her little uncle, but they had watched a movie together.

The most frustrating part was being misunderstood...

"Violet,"

With a murmur, Daxton Lancaster reached his arm over, and Violet Zimmerman hurriedly shrank into the quilt, letting his arm rest on her.

Daxton Lancaster’s arm tightened, encompassing Violet Zimmerman entirely, his face pressed against her chest, muttering, "So soft,"

Violet Zimmerman raised her hand to rest on Daxton Lancaster’s head, gently stroking his short hair, "Sleep."

A night of good sleep, but the next morning Violet Zimmerman found that Daxton Lancaster seemed unhappy.

Thin lips pressed tight, brows and eyes gloomy, as if someone had upset him. Leaning against the bed, hands crossed on his body, staring ahead, lost in thought.

Violet Zimmerman placed her hand on his, tentatively asking, "Daxton, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Should I make you some hangover soup?"

"No need."

The two words carried a chill, as Daxton Lancaster turned his phoenix eyes to look at her, the emotions within matching the tone.

"Daxton," Violet Zimmerman murmured, meeting Daxton Lancaster’s visibly displeased gaze, "What’s really wrong?"

"Where were you yesterday?"

Daxton Lancaster responded with a question, and Violet Zimmerman hesitated, cautiously saying, "I... went to see a movie."

Though Daxton Lancaster’s expression showed no fluctuation, inside, turmoil raged, thinking they had just gone shopping together. Unexpectedly, they’d watched a movie too—how romantic!

He asked calmly, "Did you go by yourself?"

Violet Zimmerman hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "Hmm, I was bored at home, so I went to see a movie alone."

She wasn’t intentionally hiding it, but worried Daxton Lancaster would be upset about the inappropriate connection with her little uncle. Last night, he had said she had her little uncle infatuated. To avoid suspicion, Violet Zimmerman could only lie.

Daxton Lancaster’s expression finally changed, his phoenix eyes narrowing as he continued questioning, "How did you get back?"

When she returned with Joseph Lancaster, the guard Augustus had seen them at the entrance, so Violet Zimmerman said, "Happened to run into Joseph Lancaster, so I took his bike back."

"What about that scarf, when did you get it?"

Violet Zimmerman paused again, recalling the scarf she had hung on the clothes rack downstairs, and honestly said, "Yesterday, after the movie, I was bored and went shopping."

Seeing Daxton Lancaster fix his gaze tightly on her, Violet Zimmerman added, "Met Joseph Lancaster in the store."

Daxton Lancaster withdrew his gaze, throwing back the covers as he rose from the bed, saying, "Let me know if you need anything in the future!"

Without emotion, the words made Violet Zimmerman suddenly feel guilty, watching Daxton Lancaster’s retreating figure into the bathroom, constantly wondering if he already knew the scarf was bought by her little uncle?
