Violet Zimmerman found that she suddenly understood Daxton Lancaster a little less.

Two days ago, he was still cold-faced and not really paying attention to her, but on the weekend he came home early from work and drove her to the department store in his Hongqi sedan.

At the department store, he helped her pick out a new scarf, even though she had just bought one, but Daxton insisted.

He helped her choose a bright red scarf, saying that this color looked festive.

He also bought some suspenders, with a loose waistband, convenient for pregnant women to wear.

While shopping with Daxton, Violet always tightly held onto his arm. Daxton seemed to enjoy it too, his handsome face gentle. When someone praised Violet’s beauty, he would smile and say, "Thank you."

For the first time since their marriage, Daxton took Violet out to a restaurant, handing the menu to her to let her choose the dishes.

Feeling good, Violet thought she could swallow an entire pig in one go, and ordered six dishes before handing the menu back to Daxton.

"Daxton, you should order something you like too."

Daxton took the menu and put it aside, smiling, "No need; I’ll be full just eating whatever you leave behind."

Upon hearing Daxton say that, Violet suddenly felt embarrassed and pretended to be unhappy as she glared at him, "You’re making fun of me."

"Not at all," Daxton smiled gently, completely different from the moody man he was that morning, "It’s normal to have a big appetite now that you’re pregnant."

"And yet you laugh at me." Violet pouted unhappily, and Daxton immediately conceded, "I won’t laugh; my wife is now two people."

Violet ate quite a lot at the restaurant, as pregnant women tend to get hungry quickly, especially after shopping for such a long time.

After the meal, Daxton took Violet to the cinema. Seeing Daxton parking his car by the large cinema poster made Violet’s heart flutter.

"Daxton, you want to take me to the movies?"

"Yes, we haven’t done this together in ages. You wait in the car; it’s cold outside." Daxton opened the car door and stepped out.

Through the glass window, Violet watched the slim man walk toward the ticket booth, pause at the small window for a moment, and then return with two movie tickets in hand.

"What time is it for? Is it today?"

Daxton got back in the driver’s seat, and Violet quickly asked, to which he handed her the tickets, "For 8 PM tonight; let’s head home first and come back later."

"Alright."

Looking at the two movie tickets in her hand, Violet smiled joyfully.

Daxton’s Hongqi sedan hadn’t even reached their home yet when they saw his brother Joseph Lancaster running into their yard with something in his arms.

Violet was too busy happily gazing at the movie tickets to notice the fleeting emotion in Daxton’s eyes.

"Daxton, let’s bring some peanuts when we go to the movies."

Violet glanced at the back of the movie tickets again, as the Hongqi sedan approached the courtyard gate, Daxton, with a sullen expression, asked placidly.

"Did Joseph bring them last time?"

Violet...

Suddenly turned her head in surprise.

Looking ahead, Daxton only said one word, "Okay," and added, "Bring more of what you like; we’re driving there, so it’s convenient."

Having shopped together, dined out, and planning to watch a movie later, Violet was initially very excited. However, seeing Daxton’s current expression, she couldn’t find any joy in it.

She suddenly felt that her husband seemed to change, becoming unpredictable.

One moment he was gentle, and the next, he turned cold.
