Monsters Die When Killed
Chapter 681 - 27: Unmatched
As he shed his spacesuit, unleashed his power, and charged toward the Indeterminate Walker, Su Zhou finally got a good look at the "Alien Monster" he had heard so much about. Back when he was still in middle school, he used to wonder every day if aliens really existed, and if so, what they might be like.
But a single glance was enough to raise a host of questions.
As a life-form, the Indeterminate Walker was simply too perfect, without a single redundant feature. The golden, orb-like core inside its body, which resembled an eyeball, was essentially a massive Spiritual Power node. Meanwhile, its shapeless, gelatinous body could withstand most unforeseen circumstances and deform freely to adapt to its environment.
It wasn’t like most Slime Monsters or Slimes, which have a high dependency on water. In essence, its body tissue was more like some kind of nanomachines.
’This is an alien life-form? But it seems less like an alien Slime and more like some kind of high-tech, artificially manufactured creature. Natural evolution could never have produced a life-form like this—it must be a Creation of some other alien species.’
But that didn’t matter. He would fight it all the same.
Now, Su Zhou activated the Bullet Time from his Sacred Geometry: Pentagram. Simulating a rocket, he expelled Spiritual Qi to accelerate, and the entire world instantly seemed to slow to a crawl before his eyes.
Su Zhou even had time to turn his head and check if Bai Jingtiao and Gu Yaoluo were safe.
In response to Su Zhou’s attack, seven colossal Indeterminate Walkers, each like a small mountain, turned their gaze on him. As they did, translucent ripples of Spiritual Power distorted the light, and immense Telekinesis formed invisible tentacles that tried to drag him down. But in his Bullet Time state, Su Zhou could clearly see the monsters’ massive Spiritual Power tentacles inching slowly toward him, making the moon dust drift and swirl.
But it was all far too slow.
With his rocket-like expulsion of Spiritual Power, Su Zhou instantly accelerated his body to over ten times the speed of sound in the weightless conditions, his form vanishing in a flash.
Then, Su Zhou swung his iron fist, wreathed in the blazing light of Spiritual Power, bringing it down like a hammer on the location Gu Yaoluo had marked as the source of the "abnormal Spiritual Power."
KRAK!
The solid Moon Rock buckled under the punch, a huge, visible shockwave rolling through it like a ripple spreading across the surface of a placid lake hit by a raindrop.
A web of fine cracks spread out from the point of impact, and an instant later, the surface shattered into a cloud of fine dust, exposing the being hidden beneath.
It was a humanoid figure covered in a silver carapace: the Deep Space Caller.
With a single glance, Su Zhou realized the silver carapace covering the Deep Space Caller’s body was an Indeterminate Walker... ’No, its entire body is an Indeterminate Walker, just gathered into a humanoid form!’
Whether the Deep Space Caller had chosen to transform into this shape or had been devoured by the Monster it summoned, it was no longer human.
The surface of the Deep Space Caller’s True Body was different from that of an ordinary Indeterminate Walker. It was inlaid and connected with a vast number of nano-scale crystalline structures as fine as scales. This made its surface look incredibly smooth, but it was actually rough and uneven—an ordinary Transcendent would be injured just by making contact. Its head was like Mercury; the only features were a pair of pupils glinting with silver light, while the rest of it behaved like a liquid, deforming subtly with every movement.
The surrounding Moon Rock was shattered, and debris drifted upward in the Moon’s low-gravity environment. Facing Su Zhou’s Breath, the Deep Space Caller was already preparing a counterattack. Its arm was slowly morphing into a cannon barrel, and a silver stream of light was Gathering at its center, ready to be fired.
But Su Zhou gave it no chance. Using the last moments of his Bullet Time, he seized the single instant the Deep Space Caller hesitated, its Aiming hampered by the swirling debris. He created an explosion of Spiritual Qi behind him, propelling his body forward as if by Instant Teleportation.
Immediately after, he threw a punch, smashing it right into his opponent’s chest.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. As Su Zhou threw his punch, the Deep Space Caller reacted quickly. Its chest caved inward, attempting to morph into a deep maw lined with countless sharp teeth, intending to clamp down on Su Zhou’s hand.
But Su Zhou’s speed was simply too great. His Supersonic punch had already unleashed its full force before the creature’s transformation was even halfway complete.
BOOM, BOOM BOOM!!!!
The Moon has no atmosphere, but a living body provides a medium for sound and shockwaves. As Su Zhou’s punch—powerful enough to shatter a tank made of solid steel—connected, a massive tremor propagated through the Deep Space Caller’s body, producing a bizarre thunder that only it could hear. Its body was sent flying like a cannonball, kicking up a conical trail of moon dust as it slammed into a distant Ring Mountain.
Instantly, the surface of the Ring Mountain shattered. The Deep Space Caller’s body was embedded deep within the crater wall, and collapsing rock buried it from sight.
Just then, a magnificent, golden Spiritual Power Light Cannon blasted across the vast distance from afar, turning the surface in its path to molten rock. Su Zhou didn’t turn his head; he could sense it was a joint attack from Gu Yaoluo and Bai Jingtiao.
Using his Celestial Craftsmanship Creation Skill, Gu Yaoluo had assembled a vehicle-mounted Spiritual Energy Cannon from the weapon parts they had brought. Just as they’d practiced during their training on the surface, he and Bai Jingtiao charged it together, unleashing a single blast comparable to a Commander Tier attack. But it would be their only one, as other writhing Indeterminate Walkers were now pouncing toward them. The Moon Surface Vehicle was careening wildly across the lunar landscape, leading a pack of mountain-sized Monsters on a high-speed chase over the uneven surface and between the Ring Mountains.
