Monarch of Darkness, Arsene

Chapter 921 Path To War

Shadow Stepping by Lilith’s side, surprising Cleo and the others, runes of the color of gold lit up the dawn, releasing a blinding amount of seraphic qi. My eyes narrowed, sensing the power held within those runes that ensured no one could escape.

“What are you doing here, Sene?” Lilith asked, frowning. Her ruby lips curled downwards. ” This is all a trap. Aiza is out for blood.”

“I know,” I replied. “Just keep your head down. I’ve got this.”

A pang of irritation flashed through her amethyst eyes as she fixed her eyes over the horizon, where we sensed Aiza looming over our heads with a dark smile. Behind her back stood wings of pure seraphic white, glistering a brilliance matching the very sun.

“Team one! Cut them off. Team three flank. Team two, are you in position?” She fired off, unaware of the darkness transmitting everything she said. “Good. Aim for the pregnant woman’s stomach.”

Noctem flashed, clashing with a cruel bolt of light aimed at the twins, blasting it away. A swarm of bolts covered the skies.

I chuckled, as did Lilith, as two swords appeared in her hand. ” Sene, I want her to suffer. I want her begging on her knees. I want her mind broken beyond ill-repute.”

A pang emanating from the back of my throat burned with flames of a thousand suns as a well of anger bubbled from the depths of the nines into me. Cold wrath coursed through my veins, reaching my empty heart, turning the glint in my eyes lifeless, returning me to an icy state.

Slamming Noctem against the cobblestoned beneath my feet, a void of absolute darkness appeared, devouring the bolts of light, and with a single thought, I spoke. “Sig, Cleo, you’re with me. Freya Lili, Kurt, and Ezra, you four backtrack and slaughter the team rushing towards us.”

“Understood!” They shouted.

Piercing off my feet, I shot west where the bolts covered the skies, allowing the domain of darkness to fade into a mist to mask our location. I pushed out my senses, ensuring there was no trap. We flashed.

Dashing at speeds we could not imagine when we first arrived in the Abyss. Noctem began to glow, devouring the very darkness, as the howls of the Angel and Devil bellowed into the world, consuming the darkening skies with tormented cries.

An ungodly aura smelted into existence, branding every angel, devil, and humanoid alike a glimpse of the future.

Wings flared from my back, and with a single leap, I took to the skies, locating a team of twenty-five, draped in black armor meant for stealth, situated within a somewhat tall building in a sea of skyscrapers.

“Die~!” I howled, unsure I’d ever heard my voice so furious in my life. .

Noctem sharing my emotions hummed so loud the frequency shattered windows while turning those weak as Low Gods into a paste as I held nothing back. Using the twin souls of the Prince of Hell and the Archangel of Heaven, I dove down, crashing into the building as a howl of a dragon came crashing down.

Ash fell like hail as cries of mercy and wails of anguish came surging in, but I did nothing to alleviate those caught up but instead used their souls as fuel as the Abyssal Flames tore them down to nothing but the purest form of energy.

I began stomping down upon heads till they were nothing but mush, and a twitching lower half, my throat bellowed a draconic roar, filled with such sin, crackles of scarlet lighting skimmed over the skies.

The Divinity of Sin coursed like flames over my flesh, fueling my anger.

“For the Lord of Absolution!” Said one of the Court of Nox members, firing off his pistol-like gun at me. I weaved through with effortless ease, and darkness trailed after me as I appeared in an instant before this fool, plunging my arm through his chest, bathing my palm with his heart as I pulled it out before replacing his brain with it.

“Slaughter the rest,” I directed to Sig and Cleo, whose faces were already stained with blood that was not theirs. “Kill everyone, even if they seem like innocents.”

Cleo, much less sig, did not seem to care, nodding without change of emotions.

“You know how much is left?” Questioned Sigfried calmly, gripping a golden greatsword I’d never seen before, burning with Abyssal Qi.

“Exactly Ten,” I replied, taking to the skies, sensing Lilith’s blood-stained battle in the south. I knew instantly she had taken care of everyone there alongside Freya, Ezra, and Kurt. Knowing she would handle the rest of the other teams drawing close, I focused my eyes upon the Aiza hovering with her wings batting in and out and…

“Why am I not surprised?” I said to myself. ” Drar’ethiul. So you woke up today and decided to die, is it?”

The Prince of Hell chuckled. ” Far from it, Arsene, this has been long in the making.” He replied, making me somewhat interested. “Did you honestly think we’d allow you to rise so easily to power? The moment we saw Asmodeus on your side, we Kings and Princes of Hell knew there’d be a time we would have to diverge from the Nines.”

Cracking my neck, I sneered and stretched my spear arm. ” So you think you can truly defeat me? With some whore?”

“The nerve.’ Came her reply, her tone still high and mighty. Aiza snorted. “This is not a battle to the death but one to make you bleed. I’m going to take what you care most about—”

By the time she finished, my fist had crashed into her face with such force space fractured, and the line between the Forth Heaven and Fifth known as Heavens End Flashed through my eyes. Carrying the will, and the intent to tear her fucking head off, the Divinity of Sin, burning with power that rivals a Peak High God, bordering on Elder God, exploded.

Feeling my fist slowly ebbing through her bones, a mighty resistance came at me, but I pushed through, bellowing as the Divinity of sin shimmered to greater heights pushing past the line between High God into Elder God.

“DIEEEEE!!!!” I roared, sending this bitch through the stratosphere.
