Chapter 1601: Breaking Barriers: The Second Trial (4)
Ding!

[Recognition of Broken Horizons — Stage I] (Title)
Rarity: Legendary (Special)
To you who has taken a step that even the Fleet-footed Monarch couldn’t achieve… description has been omitted.
This title is bestowed by the Fleet-footed Monarch only to those that have reached the limits of the trials set in the hardest path of his inheritance.
Though it pales in comparison to the title given to those that dare trek the path beyond even the hardest path given, it still has the potential to become on par with it as long as the owner of the title reaches the limit of more trials.
Currently, the number of trials the owner has reached the limit of is one.
Effects:
> +5% boost to AGI and DEX
> +2% boost to all stats aside from AGI and DEX
> +5% boost to Movement Speed
> +5% boost to Reaction Speed

’It’s actually an Extended Title?!’
By the time Ataraxia was done going through the title’s effects, the young man could not help but look at Aeramis with his mouth wide agape.
In the world of Greater Beyond, there were two types of stats a player needed to keep in mind aside from their main stats as long as they were aiming to reach the pinnacle of strength.
Unsurprisingly, that first type would be the hidden stat.
Just like the name implied, a hidden stat could only be obtained through special means, whether it be trials of gargantuan difficulties, elixirs of great rarity, or special one-time quests that needed an absurd amount of luck to obtain.
Although the amount of hidden stats one would obtain through these means paled in comparison to the main stats one would obtain from leveling up, the boosts these stats offer to one’s main stat made obtaining them all the more worthwhile.
Not only that, but some hidden stats even offered special abilities that went beyond what was normally possible for a player to achieve.
A good example of a hidden stat like that would be none other than Authority, a hidden stat greatly imprinted in Ataraxia’s mind not only because of Vaughn’s feats back at the Four Pillars’ Inheritance, but also because of the Shards of Defiance still slumbering within Valyr’s mind.
As for the second type of stat one would come across, this type of stat only became prevalent once one broke through the limits of a Myth and became a Divine-level being.
That was because, unlike hidden stats, which offered considerable boosts to one’s main stat alongside special abilities, these stats could be considered an extension of the main stats one had access to in Greater Beyond.
Because of that connotation, both players and NPCs have come to know these stats as extended stats.
Then again, these extended stats came in various forms, with some affecting the effectiveness of one’s main stats, while others affected one’s combat ability and learning ability.
A good example of these extended stats would be none other than the Attack and Defense coefficient that would increase when one went up in class rank.
Another good example of said stats would be one’s comprehension rate, which had been significantly increased for both Ataraxia and Valyr thanks to the [Perception of the Grand Origin] title.
Though these stats could only be viewed once one ascended to the Divine level, extended stats were already a part of one’s being even before one took their first step across the class ranks.
If anything, reaching the Divine level only made these stats visible on one’s status screen.
Nevertheless, that did not mean that extended stats could only be increased after reaching the Divine level. Just like hidden stats, one would be able to increase their extended stats through extremely special means.
However, unlike hidden stats, the means to increase these extended stats either involved a level of difficulty if one aimed for consistency, or involved a level of rarity if one aimed for low difficulty.
Among the various means available for one to increase one’s extended stats, titles were usually the methods Divine-level beings used to increase said stats alongside their constant experimentation.
Unsurprisingly, the reason behind that was because titles that increased extended stats were far easier to source compared to quests and elixirs that did the same thing.
Then again, with how rare such titles were, players and NPCs have categorized these titles as Extended Titles, purely for the sole reason that these titles improved one’s extended stats.
’A 5% boost to both movement and reaction speed, huh?’ murmured Ataraxia to himself inwardly, closing his eyes for a bit as he tried to sense the changes brought about by the title.
Whoosh!
Walking around in a circle, the young man noticed that the speed at which he accelerated had undergone a subtle increase. At the same time, he noticed that it took a bit less time for his thoughts to be translated into movements his body made.
’I don’t know how much of a boost 5% is without it being visible on my status screen, but I can definitely confirm that his claims of it offering assistance is not unfounded.’
As these words lingered within the young man’s mind, Aeramis went ahead and announced the start of the trial, feeling like he’d already given the former enough time to get used to the effects of the new title.
Whirr…
With the man promptly waking up the lasers on the wall after making the announcement, Ataraxia was forced to shift his attention away from his subtle improvements towards the lasers on the wall, noticing that two blue beams had already appeared within his field of vision.
Counting down the time it took for the blue beams to turn red, the young man easily swerved across the red beams the moment they appeared, causing the threat the red beams had on him to be neutralized.
Whoosh!
After successfully dodging his first set of beams for the second trial, the young man noticed that another pair of blue beams had already appeared before him, their trajectories vastly different from the ones he’d faced before.
Yet, with how much space he had to move around, it went without saying that Ataraxia dodged the two red beams once more with great ease.
Whoosh!
And thus, the young man got to work.
