Chapter 1582: Grinding the Realm
Chapter 1582: Grinding the Realm
“…We were so close!”
Whoosh!
As a rift opened on the gate that led to the Realm of New Horizons, the Azure Coalition group headed out of the rift one by one, their expressions a mix of excitement and remorse over the events that transpired just before they left.
“If we prioritized the hobgoblins before the wolf kings, we would’ve probably been able to move past the 70th layer!” said Thomas, feeling a hint of indignation as their final battle still lingered in his mind.
Hearing those words, Alisa shook her head as she let out a sigh. “That may be the case, but no one was expecting that either.”
“Who knew those hobgoblins not only knew how to use battle formations, but also large-scale spells on top of that?”
Listening to the members of the group grumble about the loss they could’ve prevented, a faint amused smile crept up onto Ataraxia’s face as he thought about how far they got in the Realm of New Horizons.
After killing the chimera boss of the 30th layer with relative ease, the young man went ahead and picked up the loot the boss dropped, inwardly hoping that the mysterious black key he sought would drop on the first try.
Unfortunately, with the chances of the key dropping being known to be incredibly low, it was no surprise that he ended up not obtaining the key whatsoever.
Nevertheless, Ataraxia wasn’t discouraged by that fact, especially considering that they would be grinding the dungeon over and over again until Pavilion Draconica’s quota was met.
With that, that fight was just a taste of what the dungeon offered the deeper they went through its layers.
Pocketing the full Greater Horizon set the chimera luckily dropped, Ataraxia went ahead and led the group to delve deeper into the dungeon’s layers, showing no mercy towards the monsters that dared to block their way.
Fortunately, rather than the monsters’ strengths continuing off of the level the boss in the 30th layer showed, the monsters from the 31st layer onward instead continued where the levels left off back in the 29th layer, allowing everyone in the group to finally relax.
Of course, with their goal in the dungeon being to collect as many complete Greater Horizon sets as possible, the entire group kept an eye for each piece of the set as they went through the layers.
In fact, by the time they had gotten to the 60th layer, the group had already amassed a total of 10 Greater Horizon sets, with a few extra pieces being duplicates of some other sets.
As for the Lesser Horizon sets they obtained from the monsters, the group showed no hesitation in equipping them, wanting to increase their combat power as much as possible in order to delve deeper into the dungeon.
Then again, with the entire Lesser Horizon set giving 50 points to all stats alongside a 2% boost, the benefit the accessory set gave to a 100-man group was quite substantial, allowing Azure Coalition to push themselves past the peak Rank 3 barrier and comfortably fight monsters at early Rank 4.
’At the very least, it’s highly likely that we can go past the 70th layer in the next run,’ thought Ataraxia to himself, smiling as he thought about how they still had extra Lesser Horizon sets after giving everyone in the group with one.
Thinking about how the general strength of the guild would increase once this thing was over, the young man eventually made his way to where the representative of Pavilion Draconica stood.
“How many of the sets have been exchanged so far?” asked Ataraxia, giving the representative an amicable smile.
“So far, the guild has collected 105 Greater Horizon sets from the nine other guilds,” replied the man, giving him a faint nod.
Nodding in return, the young man went ahead and took out the 10 Greater Horizon sets they got from their first run.
“Here you go.”
Receiving the 10 sets, the representative went ahead and used his identification skill on it before giving Ataraxia a slight smile. “Would you like the guild to transfer payment for these sets immediately? Or would you rather have the guild send it in bulk instead?”
“Right now, if possible,” answered the latter after giving it a bit of thought. “If you could send it to this account, that would be great.”
Saying those words, the young man then shared the deposit number to his account with the representative, prompting the latter to note it down before proceeding with the transaction.
Clink!
Hearing wind chimes faintly echo in his mind the moment the representative was done, Ataraxia went ahead and took a look at his notifications, only to obtain confirmation that the Deltas they got for the 10 sets had been successfully transferred.
“Time to get back to the dungeon.” After double checking that 250,000 Deltas had been deposited into his account, the young man gave Pavilion Draconica’s representative another faint smile before having his group head back to the dungeon.
“So, what are you planning to do with the money we get from this?” As they crossed the gate to the Realm of New Horizons, Thomas and the others decided to ask the young man more about the money they just received.
“Are you gonna invest it into the guild or something?”
“Obviously,” said Ataraxia in a matter-of-fact tone. “Why would I keep this money for myself if I had the guild’s help in obtaining it?”
“Plus, even if we end up only getting a couple million Deltas out of this, it’ll definitely help push the establishment of the guild’s base of operations at least a couple of weeks in advance,” he continued, prompting everyone in the group to become greatly excited.
And thus, with their motivations to obtain as many Greater Horizon sets as possible rekindled, the Azure Coalition went ahead and entered the Realm of New Horizons once more.
However, this time, they showed no mercy towards all the monsters that dared stand in their way.
