Chapter 1581: The Realm’s Boss

Chapter 1581: The Realm’s Boss

After the young man had enticed his group to charge towards the 30th layer for the inheritance, the group went ahead and arranged themselves in their usual formation before proceeding to move forward to the next layer.

Considering how each layer was a fair distance away from one another, it only took a few minutes for the group to reach the 30th layer, allowing the group to sense the tyrannical aura that faintly surrounded the boss they’d be fighting.

“…Is there still time to back out of this?” While the entire group was in the midst of making their final preparations for the upcoming fight, Thomas posed this question to the young man. “That aura is terrifying me so much that I’m starting to feel like I need to shit.”

“…First of all, too much information.” After a brief silence, the young man looked at his friend before softly shaking his head. “Second of all, are you seriously gonna back out just as we’re about to fight the boss?”

“Have you even checked its stats yet?” replied Thomas, a status screen faintly visible to its left. “I feel like a single hit is all it would take to knock the daylights out of us.”

Hearing the man’s words, the other members of the group went ahead and used their identification skills on the figure that would soon greet them once they entered the 30th layer for real.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

In response to their queries, screens containing the boss’ stats soon appeared in front of the members, only for those same people to slightly pale in fear once they realized what they were up against.

Taking note of the reactions his guild members were having towards the boss’ stats, Ataraxia soon decided to also use his identification skill on it in a bid to see what their chances were in defeating the boss.

Ding!

With the status screen not taking long to appear before his field of vision, the young man swiftly read through its contents, only to come to the conclusion that they… might just be ill-equipped to fight against the chimera.

[Chimera of New Horizons (Ancient Elite)] (Level 75 | Boss)

Class: Chimera of New Horizons (Epic)

HP: 1,066,050/1,066,050

MP: 468,645/476,460

Stats: 2672 VIT, 2987 STR, 3075 AGI, 2031 DEX, 1578 INT, 1938 WIS, 1863 PER, 755 LUK

Skills: ??? (skills unknown due to great disparity in level)

Remarks: Throughout the heaven and earth, it alone can move unhindered in both realms. Does that mean anything to you? Not really. You could fight against it no problem.

However, it would be wise to tread forward with caution.

“Hmm…” Reading through the chimera’s stats over and over again, Ataraxia soon went ahead and used his identification skill on the members making up the vanguard.

Then, once he was done looking the vanguards’ stats, he then moved onto the other teams of the group, checking to see if they met the minimum stat needed to comfortably fight the chimera.

With that, his previous thought of their group being ill-equipped to fight it gradually disappeared. Instead, he began to look at the chimera as a monster that was somewhat difficult to beat because of the great disparity in levels.

After all, even though he’d already reached the peak of Rank 4, almost all of the members that came along with him were still at the peak of Rank 3. Only a handful among them had ascended to Rank 4.

Nevertheless, with the stats his members had, as well as the special skills he had in his arsenal, the young man eventually concluded that they had a decent shot at defeating the boss.

Then again, even if they lost, it wouldn’t be too much of a problem. They just had the run the Realm of New Horizons all over again from the very start.

’…On second thought, that sounds a lot worse than I thought it did.’

Shaking off the errant thoughts that were lingering in his mind, Ataraxia went ahead and talked with the members of his group on the plan they’d be using to fight against the chimera ahead of them.

At first, most of the group felt like they shouldn’t mind their leader’s words that much, especially if they were to consider how they’d deal a pitiful amount of damage to the chimera with the great level disparity.

Though, as Ataraxia continued to discuss what strategy they’d use to fight the chimera on even grounds, it was no surprise that almost everyone in the group was on board with the idea.

After all, if their chances of defeating the chimera was actually that high, why would they pass up on the opportunity to earn a great amount of XP?

With that, after recovering the barely surviving members of the reconnaissance team, the group rearranged themselves one last time before going over their roles for the upcoming fight.

“Ready?” asked Ataraxia, his glance sweeping over everyone.

Receiving nods from the entire group in response, the young man went ahead and asked the buffers to cast all of the buffs they had on everyone.

Then, once that was done, he had the vanguard make the first move.

“Charge!”

Whoosh!

Pushing their bodies to the utmost limits, the vanguards swiftly closed the gap between them and the chimera, leaving the latter slightly off guard as it tried to take off.

However, just as it had begun to gain some altitude, Ataraxia made his move.

“Bind!”

Swoosh!

Thud!

Infusing his Mystic Energy with a single thought, the young man swiftly cast binds around the chimera’s feet, ignoring the cost of binding it as he forcefully dragged the boss down the ground.

Once he made sure that the chimera wouldn’t be able to take flight for some time, the young man then had the vanguards truly make their move, having them use all the skills in their arsenal to make sure the chimera’s aggro was on them.

After the vanguards gave them a signal that they had finally taken hold of its aggro, it was only then did the other parts of the group make their move, immediately wreaking havoc on the chimera with various skills and spells.

Whoosh!

Swoosh!

Bang!

Knowing that the binds pinning the chimera to the ground was temporary, the entire group went all-out on the offensive, with the buffers making sure that every fighter was giving 110% of their combat power while attacking the chimera.

On the other hand, the healers intently kept an eye on everyone’s health with their spells, making sure that neither the vanguards nor the attackers were anywhere near half HP.

With Ataraxia sending out a couple of his famed spells towards the chimera, it did not take long for the million or so HP the boss had to zero out, eventually causing it to fall to the ground with a thud.
