Chapter 1583: The Race for Profit
Chapter 1583: The Race for Profit
“DPS, go all out!”
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Acting as the commander of the battlefield, Ataraxia had a solemn expression on his face as he kept an eye on all his group member’s bars, making sure that they weren’t at a disadvantage against the monsters they were facing.
After becoming familiar with the dungeon’s mechanics, it went without saying that the speed at which Azure Coalition proceeded with their second attempt at the Realm of New Horizons was at least ten times faster than their first attempt.
Now privy to the fact that they were far stronger than the monsters of the 1st layer, the group went all-out in attacking the monsters, forgoing the need for strategy as they zoomed through the first 20 layers of the dungeon with ease.
Then again, even after reaching the 21st layer of the dungeon, the group only used the most basic of strategies to kill the monsters, relying on well-timed attacks and well-timed heals to make sure that the group could continue delving deeper into the dungeon’s layers.
Fortunately, by the time they arrived at the 30th layer, the chimera that they feared during their first attempt was nowhere to be found.
Instead, a large group of monsters only slightly stronger than the ones in the previous layer greeted them, kindling their will to fight even further as they showed dominance in clearing one of the Realm’s minor milestones.
Of course, even though they were going through the dungeon’s layers at a far faster pace than before, the group still made sure to pick up all the loot the monsters dropped in every layer.
Considering that Pavilion Draconica only wanted the Greater Horizon set from the dungeon, it was no surprise that the group had stockpiled more than enough set equipment to nurture around 20% more members than they currently had.
Adding on the fact that the Lesser Horizon set was also something the peak third-tier guild didn’t want from the dungeon, Ataraxia and the others were confident that they’d be able to expand their member count to around 50% of what it currently was in the next couple of weeks.
Though, if one were to also include the various basic skill books that the dungeon had dropped throughout their first two attempts, the group felt that it wouldn’t be long before Azure Coalition obtained double its current member count, if not triple.
Nevertheless, the set equipment and the skills they got from the dungeon was only an indirect benefit of accepting Pavilion Draconica’s invitation to grind the dungeon alongside eight other guilds.
If anything, the greatest benefit their guild got out of this was the Deltas they received in exchange for the Greater Horizon sets.
And thus, hours eventually turned into days as the 10 guilds continued to pilfer everything the Realm of New Horizons had to offer.
By the first day, the 9 guilds that accepted Pavilion Draconica’s invitation had already amassed a fifth of the 1,000 sets the guild requested from them.
However, once the second day ended, the collected amount reached 500 copies, prompting everyone to think that they only had to grind the dungeon for two more days before everything was over.
Unfortunately, as if the heavens had caught wind of their movements, the nine guilds obtained the least amount of copies of the set during the day, only obtaining an additional 80 copies out of it.
For a while, the 10 guilds were somewhat discouraged from grinding the dungeon any further, wondering if Greater Beyond was limiting the total number of sets they could obtain from it at one time.
Thankfully, after the guilds held a brief meeting to discuss the various tips and tricks to speed up their descent into the deeper layers of the dungeon, the 10 guilds eventually returned to clear the Realm of New Horizons with renewed vigor.
Though, their decision to continue grinding the dungeon was also partly due to Pavilion Draconica increasing the payout per piece of the set from 5,000 Deltas to 8,000.
With each Greater Horizon set now yielding 15,000 more Deltas than it previously did, it went without saying that Azure Coalition and the other guilds made light work of the dungeon after that, bringing the total amount of copies they’ve collected to 800 by the fourth day.
Currently, the nine other guilds only had to collect 50 more sets in total before finally meeting the quota Pavilion Draconica asked of them.
“[Orb of Apyrhan]!”
Seeing that the vanguards had got the monsters out of control, Ataraxia coordinated with the attackers as they bombarded them with both spells and skills that dealt more than enough damage to wipe the place clean.
Bang!
After taking care of some lucky stragglers that had barely missed the bombardment of attacks they dished out, the young man went ahead and collected the loot the monsters dropped before proceeding to head to the next layer.
“I wonder if we’ll fight the chimera this time around?” As the group leisurely made their way towards the 60th layer, Thomas decided to talk about which of the three possibilities would become a reality.
“Although we haven’t really fought against the chimera that often these past few days, I’d say we’ve pretty much gotten used to fighting the boss to where it doesn’t affect our progression.”
“Must we remind you of the 90th layer chimera?” said Alisa in response, which made Thomas to shut up as the memories he had of that fight resurfaced in his mind.
Seeing how one of their guild’s core members reacted to just a few words, the group could not help but let out a burst of laughter.
Letting out a peal of laughter himself, Thomas’ question briefly lingered in Ataraxia’s mind, recalling how they hadn’t gotten even a single key from the boss even after defeating it many times over the past few days.
’Would be nice if it were our opponent for the 60th layer,’ murmured the young man to himself, slightly hastening his pace because of it.
’Though, I also wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t.’
After walking for a bit longer, the group eventually arrived at the area before the 60th layer, immediately being greeted by the sight of the chimera that terrified them during their first attempt.
Making a few preparations in advance to finish the fight against the boss in less time, Ataraxia soon had the whole group charge towards the chimera alongside him, utilizing a similar yet refined strategy to the one he used against the chimera during their first attempt.
With that, it did not take long for the boss to succumb to their might once more, letting out one final cry before the last traces of vitality it had disappeared from its body.
Whoosh!
Moving towards the spot where the chimera fell, Ataraxia went ahead and looked at the items it dropped, only to stop as one of the items caught his attention.
Pocketing the complete Greater Horizon set the boss dropped into his spatial bracelet, a wide grin slowly appeared on the young man’s face as he picked up a small but mysterious-looking black key.
’After five days of nonstop grinding… it finally dropped.’
’The key to the inheritance finally dropped.’
