Maybe I really am a Villian

Chapter 312: Nightmares 1

  • Next Chapter

After Asher’s vessel entered the black fog, it was swallowed by the Domain of the Nightmare Saint.

The moment he entered the black fog, Asher felt everything around him become blurry. His senses seemed to fade away one after another, and he couldn’t feel anything, neither his own body nor his surroundings, if there even were any.

It was as though he had suddenly been separated from everything in existence, leaving him in a strange state where he couldn’t perceive anything at all.

After some time, Asher finally began to regain his senses.

First, he felt his body, and then he noticed something wet touching him from all directions.

A strange sensation surrounded him, and before long, he could feel the movement of water against his skin.

Asher slowly opened his eyes and finally saw where he was, as well as the reason behind the wet sensation he had been feeling.

"Huh...? Why the fuck am I in water? I don’t even have aquaphobia."

Asher said this out loud instead of merely thinking about it. As a result, some water entered his mouth while he was speaking, forcing him to close it immediately.

He paused for a moment, seemingly more interested in the water itself than in his current situation.

’Hmm, the amount of salt is perfect. Just need some sugar and lemon, and then I’d have perfect lemonade ready.’

However, since there was no sugar or lemon around him, he decided to focus on his current condition instead.

He examined his body and quickly realized that he was inside a human vessel. Unlike his usual body, this one was completely ordinary, without any special abilities or extraordinary characteristics.

Asher then looked around, trying to understand his surroundings.

There was nothing except water in every direction—no land, no objects, and nothing that could help him figure out where he was.

To make matters worse, he couldn’t use any of his abilities.

No matter how much he tried, nothing happened. His powers were completely inaccessible, leaving him with nothing but an ordinary human body.

He was just a mundane human here.

’Ohh, I guess I’m fucked.’

After all, there wasn’t much he could do about it at the moment.

Eventually, the little oxygen he had left ran out. His body instinctively demanded air, and Asher gasped for it, but instead of getting what he needed, water entered his nose and mouth and filled his lungs.

He couldn’t breathe, and his body gradually began losing its ability to function as the lack of oxygen took its toll.

’Huuu, what a boring death.’

Those were his final thoughts before his body finally stopped functioning, and he died in the water.

However, his experience didn’t end there.

After dying in the water, Asher suddenly found himself somewhere else.

This time, he immediately looked around, trying to understand what kind of place he had ended up in.

His body was still the same as the one he had possessed in the previous nightmare. He was still an ordinary human, without any of his usual abilities.

Asher glanced at his surroundings.

The entire area was covered in plain, green grass that stretched as far as his eyes could see. There were no trees, no buildings, and no other objects anywhere around him.

It was just an endless stretch of grass.

Asher then raised his head and looked at the sky.

The sky was blue and clear, without a single cloud in sight. The sun shone brightly above him, making the entire place look peaceful and pleasant.

For a moment, Asher stared at the scenery.

Then he opened his mouth and shouted towards the sky.

"Huh...? What the fuck is this shit now? Where is my picnic basket?!"

His voice echoed across the empty grassland, but there was no response.

Asher waited for a while, looking around as though he genuinely expected someone to answer him.

However, nobody replied.

After waiting for a little longer, he finally gave up and lay down on the grass, staring at the clear sky above him.

He couldn’t understand what kind of nightmare this was.

’What kind of nightmare is this? What’s it going to be this time? Are they going to make me die of starvation now?’

Asher continued staring at the sky, his expression filled with confusion.

First, he had been thrown into the water and died because he couldn’t breathe. Now, he had been placed in an empty grassland with nothing around him.

What exactly was the point of all this?

He had expected the Domain of the Nightmare Saint to be something interesting, perhaps even something that could provide him with a new experience.

But so far, all he had received was an incredibly boring death followed by an empty field.

Asher couldn’t help feeling disappointed.

"Shit, this is a scam. I want my money back! You scammer! I didn’t sign up for these stupid nightmares!"

After cursing a little more, Asher finally stopped and decided to close his eyes and get some sleep.

Since there was nothing else to do in this place, he might as well take a nap and see what happened afterward. Perhaps when he opened his eyes again, he would find himself somewhere more interesting.

However, just as Asher closed his eyes, he suddenly felt a shadow falling over him.

He opened his eyes and looked up at the sky, only to see a large number of black clouds gathering above him. They continued spreading across the sky, gradually covering the entire area until not a single patch of blue remained visible.

The bright sunlight disappeared, and the peaceful grassland was soon covered by a dark shadow.

Asher stared at the black clouds for a moment, trying to figure out what was happening.

"Huh...? So I’m going to die by rain this time?"

He had barely finished speaking when the rain suddenly began to fall.

At first, only a few drops descended from the sky, landing on the green grass around him. However, one of those raindrops fell directly onto Asher’s hand.

As soon as the raindrop touched his skin, Asher noticed something strange.
