Maybe I really am a Villian
Chapter 304: Seppuku
Noah noticed their expressions and awkwardly looked away. "I mean, how was I supposed to know? I never tried to leave before."
Adam sighed and shook his head.
"You really are a Fool."
Noah looked at the Barrier and then hastily spoke in his defense.
"It was just one mistake."
Adam sighed. His expression then became serious, and a hint of anger appeared on his face.
"And Noah, what about all those insults you were throwing at me while trying to escape?"
Noah’s body immediately stiffened.
He slowly looked away from Adam before replying in a nervous tone.
"Ohh... about that."
He paused for a moment, pretending to think deeply about his answer.
Then he suddenly nodded and said, "They were actually compliments with deep meanings that you weren’t able to understand. Hmm... yeah, compliments."
Adam stared at Noah with a strange expression.
"Compliments? With deep meanings? Would you please take the trouble to explain them, then?"
Noah remained silent for a moment, looking at the ground as if he were thinking about something extremely important.
After a few seconds, he slowly raised his head.
A cheerful smile appeared on his face.
"Nah, I can’t. You are not worthy enough right now. I’ll tell you about this fifty years... nah, one hundred years later, when you are worthy enough."
...
Adam stared at Noah for a moment before slowly turning his gaze toward Asher, who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
’Did he actually believe Noah and start thinking about the deep meanings behind those stupid insults?’ Adam thought inwardly.
’Did he lose some more of his brain screws?’
While Adam thought this, Asher thought about something completely different.
’If I kill Noah right now and then take his body, would I also get his luck?’
Asher remained silent for a moment.
He looked up from the ground and glanced at Noah.
’Nah, it wouldn’t work.’
Asher then shifted his gaze toward Adam and Noah, who were now arguing with each other again.
The two continued their pointless argument for a few more moments before Asher finally decided to stop them.
"Enough jokes now," Asher said in a slightly serious tone.
Noah and Adam immediately stopped arguing.
Adam looked at Noah before asking, "Do you have a strategy? If not, then follow me. I’ll attack from the left, and you attack from the right. We can win. He’s not even that strong here... probably."
Noah looked at Adam for a moment. Then his gaze slowly dropped toward Adam’s legs.
"Then why are your legs shaking right now?"
"Due to the cold."
...
"Sure. Well, I have a strategy. Just keep him busy for five seconds, guy."
Asher looked at both of them as they discussed their strategy. He then started moving toward Adam.
Adam looked at Noah before slowly walking toward Asher as well.
"Okay."
Asher and Adam finally met, and their swords immediately clashed against each other. Adam kept trying to land a hit on Asher, but every one of his strikes was blocked.
Asher easily deflected each attack and remained completely calm. Then, instead of continuing to block, he suddenly became more aggressive and started attacking Adam.
He swung his sword toward Adam’s shoulder. Adam quickly moved his sword in front of his shoulder to protect himself, expecting Asher’s strike to come directly toward him.
However, Adam suddenly realized that it was only a feint.
Asher immediately changed the trajectory of his sword. Instead of continuing toward Adam’s shoulder, the blade moved downward toward his thigh.
Noah immediately jumped backward when he noticed the change in direction, but Asher’s sword still managed to catch Adam slightly as he moved away.
Adam landed a short distance away and looked down at his thigh before grimacing.
"I guess even without your spatial magic, you’re still quite strong. As expected of you, or else you wouldn’t have reached this round."
Adam said this with a slightly surprised tone. He hadn’t expected Asher to be this strong without using his absurd mana control and spatial magic.
What Adam didn’t know was that Asher had already defeated three students without receiving a single injury.
If Adam had known that, he probably wouldn’t have tried fighting Asher so confidently.
Asher moved toward him again and swung his sword downward.
Adam immediately raised his sword and blocked the strike.
However, Asher didn’t stop.
He continued striking with his sword from different directions without giving Adam any chance to recover. Adam desperately blocked each incoming attack, but several strikes still managed to get past his defenses.
Small injuries began appearing across his body as he struggled to keep up with Asher’s movements.
Adam managed to block a sword strike aimed directly at his throat. As soon as the attack was blocked, Asher immediately pulled his sword back and attacked again.
This time, the strike came toward Adam’s shoulder.
Adam tried to move away, but he was slightly too slow.
Asher’s sword brushed past his shoulder, leaving another clear injury and forcing Adam to retreat.
Adam immediately swung his own sword forward, forcing Asher to step back and creating some distance between them.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
Then he grimaced as the pain from the numerous small injuries finally caught up with him. The pain of being cut in so many places was too intense; it was the most painful experience he had ever endured. Only then did he understand how Asher opponents in the test felt.
Adam looked at Asher.
Asher was standing calmly a short distance away, holding his sword in one hand. The blade was marked from the battle, and Asher looked completely unaffected by the fight.
Adam stared at him for a moment before speaking in a slightly low and exhausted tone.
"You really never go easy on anyone. You could have finished this fight whenever you wanted, but here you are, playing with me."
Asher stared at Adam for a moment before simply shrugging.
"Your fault for being weak. If you really hate it that much, then just become strong. Stop whining."
Adam laughed softly despite his exhaustion.
"Your way of showing the difference between strength is way too painful and cruel."
He then looked around the area.
Something immediately seemed strange.
There was no sign of Noah anywhere.
Adam looked around once more before turning toward Asher.
"By the way, what did Noah do after telling me to keep you busy for five seconds? There isn’t even a trace of him."
Asher looked at Adam for a moment.
"Noah? Well, as soon as we started fighting, he performed Seppuku."
