Maybe I really am a Villian
Chapter 305: Nightmare Saint
Asher looked at Adam for a moment.
"Noah? Well, as soon as we started fighting, he performed Seppuku."
"Huh...? What?"
"I mean, he eliminated himself by firing a mana bullet straight through his head," Asher replied casually.
As he spoke, he also checked the time remaining before the next round. There were still a few minutes left, which was enough for him to catch his breath after eliminating Adam.
Adam sighed while grimacing in pain. The cuts across his body were becoming increasingly uncomfortable, and he was struggling to ignore them as he stood there.
"He was smart this time. I guess he knew he couldn’t win, so he eliminated himself before you could torture him like you’re doing to me right now."
Asher looked at him calmly.
"It’s pain tolerance training, not torture."
"That’s just you sugarcoating it!"
"Most things are like this. We can call cooking the art of cutting open other living beings, but we sugarcoat it and simply call it cooking. Though, you know, it is a rather vile practice," Asher replied immediately, maintaining a serious expression throughout his explanation.
Adam stared at him silently for a moment.
"Whatever. There’s no use arguing with you. Just finish this by eliminating me. What are you waiting for?" Adam asked, looking at his injured shoulder.
Asher casually replied, "I’m waiting for you to bleed a little more. Nothing more than that."
’This bastard!’
Adam cursed inwardly before suddenly lunging toward Asher with his sword gripped firmly in both hands.
He swung his sword horizontally toward Asher’s right shoulder, putting all his remaining strength into the attack.
Asher calmly raised his own sword and blocked the incoming strike. The two blades collided with a sharp metallic sound, but before Adam could adjust his stance, Asher deflected his sword to the side.
At the same time, Asher delivered a quick kick to Adam’s stomach.
The impact forced Adam backward, and he stumbled several steps before managing to regain his balance.
However, despite the pain and exhaustion he was feeling, Adam refused to give up.
He immediately lunged toward Asher again, desperation clearly visible in his eyes.
He knew he couldn’t win this fight. He had already understood the difference between their abilities, and every exchange only made that difference more obvious.
Still, he wanted to land at least one strike.
Just one.
That was all he wanted before being eliminated from the test.
However, no matter how desperately he attacked, Asher continued to dodge and block every single strike without showing any signs of difficulty.
Adam swung his sword vertically downward toward Asher, hoping to catch him off guard with a powerful attack.
Asher simply moved sideways, allowing the blade to pass harmlessly beside him.
Before Adam could pull his sword back and recover his balance, Asher extended his leg and tripped him.
Adam immediately lost his footing.
His body tilted forward, and he began falling toward the ground. He tried to regain his balance, but before he could do so, Asher moved into position and delivered a quick kick to the side of his head.
The impact sent Adam tumbling sideways. He landed several steps away with a loud thud, his body momentarily unable to respond.
Asher didn’t waste any time.
He immediately moved toward Adam, who was still struggling to recover from the attack. Before Adam could properly gather his thoughts or raise his weapon again, Asher thrust his sword forward.
The sword went straight to the Adam chest and through his heart, eliminating him painlessly from the test; his body disintegrated, as did his sword and the blood that was splattered on the ground and Asher sword.
At the same time, the Barrier changed from yellow to green, indicating that Asher had secured the area and was no longer at risk of being eliminated by another student inside it.
Asher withdrew his sword and glanced around the now-empty area.
With both Noah and Adam eliminated, there was finally some peace.
He walked toward the centre of the area and sat down, taking advantage of the remaining time before the next round began.
After settling down, Asher lowered his gaze and began thinking about something else.
’Hmm, things aren’t looking too bright with that Empath demon.’
He rested his chin on one hand, considering the problem.
’To achieve the results I want, I need a vast amount of emotions. The problem is that I can barely feel much of anything myself anymore.’
He paused for a moment.
’Stealing other people’s emotions would take too much time and effort. And honestly, I’m too lazy to go around collecting them one by one.’
Asher sighed.
’Sigh... I have to relive my first life if I really want to achieve the results I’m looking for.’
He leaned back slightly and continued thinking.
’And for that, I have to go to that Nightmare Saint.’
Asher’s expression became a little more serious as he considered the idea.
’I guess I’ll have to meet him sooner than I thought. Preferably before I reach the Grandmaster rank.’
While Asher was thinking about this, one of his vessels, which was present in the northern part of the Demon Continent, began to move.
The vessel had previously teleported Ravena to the Demon Continent, and now it was standing at the top of a mountain, looking toward the distant horizon.
After remaining still for a moment, it slowly spread its wings and took flight.
Its massive wings flapped, carrying its body into the sky as it began moving toward the eastern region of the Demon Continent.
Its destination was the territory of one of the Saints of the Demon Continent.
The vessel continued flying through the sky, heading toward its destination without stopping.
Meanwhile, another one of Asher’s vessels was present in a completely different place.
It was located in a pitch-black area filled with nothing but shadows. There was no light, and the surroundings were so dark that it was difficult to distinguish anything within the area.
