Maybe I really am a Villian
Chapter 267: Poison
Adam remained silent for a moment before finally answering.
"Well, after today, I have been rejected by all 47 of them for political marriage. Some of them even threatened their own families that they would run away if they tried to force them."
There was complete silence for a moment.
Everyone stared at Adam.
Then—
"Hahahaha!"
Noah suddenly burst into laughter.
Even Aria covered her mouth slightly as she tried to control her laughter.
Only Asher remained completely calm, sitting in his chair as if nothing unusual had happened.
Adam looked toward the two of them with an exhausted expression.
"It isn’t funny."
Noah tried to stop laughing, but the more he looked at Adam’s expression, the harder it became for him to control himself.
Aria also looked away, trying her best not to laugh in front of Adam.
Asher looked at Adam, then at Noah, and finally at Aria.
He seemed genuinely confused by their reactions before asking in a confused tone,
"Why are you guys laughing? It wasn’t even that funny. It was bound to happen, knowing his creepy way of saying things."
Adam stared at Asher for a moment before letting out another tired sigh.
"As expected of you. I didn’t even expect you to say anything positive about me anyway."
He paused for a moment, and his expression became more serious.
Then he continued in a serious and slightly angry tone,
"It is your fault, not mine. Who told you to mess with every Noble girl’s face on the Continent? And now I’m suffering because of your actions, even though I did nothing other than being part of your team."
Adam clenched his fist slightly before continuing.
"Because of this, I might even lose my position as the head of my family. My father is already mad about it since this whole situation is affecting our family’s reputation. That’s why he even made these meetings private. Many Noble girls rejected me without even meeting me, and the ones who actually met me somehow rejected me as well."
Asher listened to him calmly before replying,
"See? So all of this is the fault of you and those stupid girls, not mine."
Adam’s expression immediately became even more exhausted.
"How did you even reach that conclusion?"
Asher shrugged.
"With my brain. And it’s not even that bad. You’re making it sound worse than it actually is. It’s not like your father would disown you because of this, right?"
By now, Noah and Aria had also stopped laughing.
Noah looked toward Adam and then said,
"Yeah, Adam. This time Asher is right. It’s not even that big of a deal like you’re making it out to be."
Adam looked at Noah and then sighed.
"You wouldn’t understand. But it is a big deal for a Noble like me. I can lose everything if my reputation gets stained."
Asher looked at Adam for a moment before muttering,
"Just ignore this idiot. I’m hungry."
He then raised his hand and called the waiter.
The waiter arrived within a few seconds and politely asked Asher for his order.
Asher immediately replied,
"Get me extra-spicy veg noodles with strawberry ice cream and a cold drink. And also pack the usual amount of ice cream I normally take."
After giving his order, Asher turned toward the others.
"What about you guys? What would you like to order?"
Noah and Aria looked at each other for a moment before deciding to order the same thing as Asher. Since they had already spent the afternoon at the water park, they wanted something light and enjoyable before dinner.
The waiter noted their orders, then looked toward Adam.
"And what would you like to order, Young Master?"
Adam remained silent for a moment, still looking exhausted from everything that had happened to him that day.
Then he finally looked toward the waiter and opened his mouth to give his order.
"Get me an apple juice laced with a Master Rank poison capable of killing me instantly."
After Adam said this, the wamply stared at him for a moment.
He then looked at Adam, then at Asher, seemingly unsure of how he was supposed to respond to such an order.
The room became quiet for a moment as everyone processed what Adam had just said.
Aria and Noah looked at Adam with tired expressions. Their faces showed a mixture of frustration and concern, as if they had already had enough of his dramatic behavior for one day.
Noah finally spoke in a slightly annoyed and impatient tone,
"Can you please stop doing this now?"
However, before Noah could say anything else, or Adam could even reply to him, Asher calmly looked toward the waiter and spoke.
"You can go and get him the same thing we ordered."
The waiter looked at Asher for a moment, then nodded.
"Yes, sir."
He bowed slightly before leaving the room.
The door closed behind him, leaving the four of them alone once again.
Asher then looked toward Adam and spoke in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Don’t worry. You don’t need to order the poison. They wouldn’t even have something like that here because there is no way they would keep poison in a restaurant."
Adam looked at him without saying anything.
Asher’s expression suddenly changed into a small smile.
"But I have some. And this one is really good. I can guarantee it."
A slightly mischievous smile appeared on his face.
Noah immediately grew suspicious of that expression.
"Wait, Asher—"
But before Noah or Aria could say anything else, Asher summoned a small vial from his subspace.
The vial held a strange substance. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Aria immediately looked at the vial in Asher’s hand with a concerned expression.
"Asher, what are you—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Asher suddenly teleported away from his seat.
In the next moment, he appeared directly behind Adam’s chair, still holding the small vial in his hand.
Adam slowly turned his head after sensing Asher behind him.
For the first time that evening, his tired expression changed slightly.
