Maybe I really am a Villian

Chapter 266: Adam Worry

When they entered the restaurant, they immediately noticed, that the whole restaurant was almost completely empty.

There wasn’t a single other customer inside, and there wasn’t even much staff around. In fact, the only person they could see was a single waiter standing near the entrance.

The waiter immediately walked toward them and politely gestured for them to follow him.

He then started leading them toward the section where Adam was.

Noah looked around the strangely empty restaurant with a slightly confused and curious expression before finally asking,

"By the way, why do you think Adam is here?"

Aria also seemed to have the same question in her mind.

She looked toward Asher and then said,

"Wasn’t he supposed to be doing some important work right now? That was why he wasn’t able to join us, wasn’t it, Asher?"

Asher replied calmly,

"He at least told me that."

Noah thought about it for a moment before speaking again.

"Maybe his work was completed, and then he came here since he knew we would be here."

Asher shook his head.

"Nah, it’s not that. I think the important work he had was just here."

Asher paused for a moment after saying that.

Noah nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, it can be. I wonder what that work was."

Asher suddenly continued in a serious tone,

"He must be taking revenge on me by doing this. He must have also bought all the stocks of ice cream just to take revenge on me. As expected of a petty Noble like him."

Noah and Aria both looked at Asher strangely.

There was a short silence between them. ℯℯ𝑙.

Then Noah finally spoke in a strange tone.

"Someone really needs to find a term for people like you. Sometimes you act stupid, sometimes you act way too smart, and now you’re just being way too delusional."

Asher didn’t seem bothered by his words and simply continued walking.

After walking for a while, they finally reached the room where Adam was.

The room was located on the first floor of the restaurant.

The waiter stopped in front of the room and looked at Asher for a moment.

Then he shook his head slightly before looking toward Aria.

With a serious expression, he said,

"Please take care of your friend and make sure he doesn’t do something wrong in his sadness."

After saying this, the waiter immediately walked away without explaining anything else.

Asher, Noah, and Aria all remained there for a moment, staring at the place where the waiter had disappeared.

Their expressions were filled with confusion.

Noah was the first one to speak.

"What did he mean by that? Did something happen to Adam? He was perfectly fine yesterday, though. That waiter was acting way too weird. Just what happened to Adam?"

Aria also nodded.

She was equally confused because what the waiter had said made absolutely no sense to her.

Asher, however, was still looking in the direction where the waiter had walked away.

After thinking about it for a moment, he finally spoke calmly.

"Yeah, he just treated Noah and me as stupid and told Aria to take care of whatever happened to Adam because he found her smart. That guy needs a raise in salary."

Noah and Aria both looked at Asher with even stranger expressions.

Noah sighed.

"That’s not what he meant."

Asher simply ignored him and looked toward the room in front of them.

"Whatever. Let’s just see what that useless Adam is doing."

Asher opened the door and then found Adam sitting on one side of the table.

Adam’s face looked extremely tired, almost as if he had gone through something exhausting for the entire day. There was a plate of food in front of him, and another plate was placed on the opposite side of the table, probably meant for someone else. However, most of the food on both plates remained untouched.

The room also had a large window on one side, which gave them a good view of the garden behind the restaurant. The peaceful view outside was completely different from the strange atmosphere inside the room.

Asher, Aria, and Noah looked at Adam, who looked almost like a dead person sitting there.

Adam slowly looked toward Asher and then said in a tired voice,

"So you guys are here. Take a seat."

After looking at Adam for a moment, the three of them took their seats.

Asher then looked at the food on the table and casually asked,

"So, will you eat too, or have you already eaten?"

"Nah, I’m full. I don’t need anything."

Adam replied in such a dead tone that it almost sounded like he didn’t even have the energy to speak.

Asher nodded and was just about to call the waiter when Aria, who was sitting beside him, looked at him.

"Asher, will you please stay silent for a moment?"

Asher looked at her for a moment and then glanced back at Adam.

"What a drag."

He sighed and remained silent.

Then it was Noah who finally asked in a quiet tone,

"So, Adam, what happened to you? Why are you like this?"

Adam sighed deeply for a moment before looking toward Noah.

"Noah, how many girls of Noble birth, with the same or lower status as me, are there in the first year?"

Noah didn’t understand what this had to do with anything, but after seeing Adam’s serious expression, he still answered with a confused look.

"There are 65. Why? What happened?"

Aria and Asher also had the same question in their minds, but they stayed silent for now.

Adam then asked another question.

"How many of them are not engaged or in a relationship?"

Noah was still confused about what this had to do with the current situation, but he answered anyway.

"There are 47 of them. But would you tell us what really happened instead of asking these stupid questions?"

’Why do you even know the answers to these stupid questions?’

Asher and Aria both thought inwardly at the same time.
