Chapter 3050: 3050. Alone But Standing Tall

"It’s nice to be you, Ebsaru. I would have expected you to celebrate and meet more people."

The stone goblin was careful in the way he looked back at Walker. The view from the top of the magic tower had clearly kept his mind occupied, but from the way that his gray skin and the tight way he held his arms to his side looked, he was cold.

"There were more people that made it up to the top here to meditate. I had imagined another to take the title, master of the magic tower. He’d been the first one that showed promise when I was exploring here myself. I even spoke with the tower and managed to get its input."

"The tower is a wonderful creation nearly lost to time. The rune formations within are teaching everyone about rune magic. The knowledge stored within is allowing mages to advance their understanding using more ancient magic to meet modern magic. I even think that the tests between the floors of elemental mana densities are enough to spur new change in each mage too."

Walker softly landed at the top of the magic tower, making the air feel a bit less lonely.

"I would say though, that they all did not manage to get through that to be where you stand because they let themselves drift astray. You were not noticed. You weren’t praised. You didn’t even speak out loudly to exclaim that you were here. That was why you succeeded in my eyes."

"You were dedicated in silence that only you encouraged yourself to achieve and it paid off with the title and a new class. I can also see that obtaining the new class entirely stripped away your levels and skills to begin you on a purer path. So I hope I can help you with that, if even a little bit."

While most goblins were short and the variety were fewer since they had been gathered here and there once gaining proper recognition and intelligence as a full race, the stone goblins were known as reclusive and had been found just a couple months ago. The plains goblins had managed to sniff them out and welcome them here.

Their lifestyle gave them more slender of a figure to easily squeeze in to cracks and crevices within the mountains. It also allowed them to more easily blend with the rocks and gray stones within the higher up mountains. Not to mention their usual earth affinities allowing them to be naturally tougher despite their slender appearance.

However, this stone goblin was no longer just an earth affinity. They had bonded with the magic tower and now possessed every elemental affinity.

The title, master of the magic tower, had been part of a facilitation and rebirth process.

All that stored mana and experience over the years of survival burned away and allowed the new affinities to toot within him. Ebsaru was also able to grow significantly in comparison to what any other stone goblin may appear to look like.

So much so that his health was most likely the best out of goblin race as a whole.

"I was alone for a long time. It is strange being celebrated now." The confusion in his rugged voice caught Walker in a strange way. Not worried, but understanding because it was similar to the demons when they had first been freed from their slave state.

However, Ebsaru’s feelings came from living an isolated life and fearing the wilderness. Fearing people coming to kill him. Fearing that every day was his last day.

"Many lived like you did. If I can recall, several of your people were within the mountain area. All living alone. All surviving as best as they could. You were the only one who learned earth magic to seal away your home from predators. Keep yourself hidden. And you came to the magic tower because you found peace and safety here."

Walker had read what he could and remembered every word.

Everyone who came to Genesis received an identification now. Everyone who was brought from a monster race would have interviews and share their story. It was just to ensure that they had the chance and guidance needed to join and thrive. But it would not disallow them the opportunity.

Although there were some who practiced despicable acts such as eating other intelligent races. It was a negative side effect of the change from monster to intelligent race that some of them did not want to lose. That did not wish to ignore.

The harpies had a serious fight over this when they found one of their own kind preying upon other harpies from a different region. It broke some of their hearts but they had needed to do what was right.

"This place has been unique. I never imagined what I could learn here. I kept finding more too." Ebsaru looked like he was still envisioning what he did not know and could explore.

"You have the same hunger to try everything that I have. I just keep exploring and searching. You will just keep studying and finding more magic. The tower needed that kind of heart to grow too. That is what it was made for. To support its people and to grow knowledge of magic. You are the piece it was missing."

The tense muscles relaxed as Ebsaru looked fully at Walker. The flicker of mana in his eyes showed that he was using a mana sight skill to see the many manas around Walker. "I still can not see what you can do clearly."

"It might take a few years to get closer to that. I am changing the flow of my mana and sharing it elsewhere. My mana senses stretch beyond Genesis now too. But the magic tower is connected to the smaller magic towers and fueled by naturally formed elemental runes. You will be able to tap in to that eventually. I can promise you, one day you will be able to guide people from different continents if you wish to."

This was not a dream of some small suggestion. It was a fact that there would be a day that bursary would be able to allow for there to be communication and learning from the tower on another continent.

The angels had helped begin making mini magic towers on their territory as well. It would allow for better communication and mana flow across the continents. It would also eventually allow for a connection that the master of the magic tower would be able to use.

"I also want to know what you can do with a spell that was cast by the magic tower. I have a feeling that the magic tower had more tricks, but casting magic? That is very interesting."

Ebsaru brightened up more. Showing that his excitement with magic also came through in a pure and amazing fashion.

"It is like a wand or staff too. I have felt it resonate before and chased the feeling until I found a perfect connection. It is working with me to show me more of what it can do but I need to learn and grow more to understand it. I just have to meditate. But I need to begin to take in those who can live and reside on the floors."

"You will need to recruit?" This brought a grin to Walker’s face too. He imagined that this was a potential as well. But he had no idea how soon or when this might be possible.

"I need floor masters. Each elemental affinity needs to be represented. I can do that too. I need to make them able to teach and archive the floors. They will be part of my strength and how the magic tower-" Ebsaru cut himself off realizing he had burst in to conversation without keeping himself held back whatsoever.

"You can keep telling me. I wanted to listen. I want to learn more about everything. Each of the golem bodies I made are learning now and studying everything. It is a way for me to branch out and take the weight off of my main body while also adapting. Eventually I will have knowledge beyond what I know now and learning about even the smallest or most radically different topic is what I need."

Walker looked again at Ebsaru’s eyes and spoke up even more definitely. " You are part of Genesis and a new leader taking the steps to grow and teach. So be ready because you will be popular and very busy. Just make sure that you keep that curious heart. You are doing exactly what is needed and we all will believe in you as long as you need us to believe. Congratulations."

The two looked at one another for a moment as respect took hold before Ebsaru continued telling him all bout the bonds of the magic tower he had now.
