Chapter 2950. Ignus’s Growth
Chapter 2950: 2950. Ignus’s Growth
"He did what!?"
There were no other words that Remey could come up with.
She had expected that Ignus would leave and come back with some sort of deal or information from meeting this blue flame dragon. But to just bring one back like it was nothing? How did that make any sense?
"Now you see why I got pulled in to this and why Terron and Ventus, who are the only two other royal dragons around, are also with me." Walker was almost laughing at the oddity of the situation. Remey also caught sight of Midnight walking up behind them proving that they were all going together with this.
Terron had been focused on a recent discovery of a cavern sealed by stone. It was a collapse that caused a small sinkhole and the remnants of hatched dragon eggs were there. Meaning that an earth dragon had once left eggs there and most likely traveled through this area. Because this might be the case he wanted to investigate to ensure there were not rogue earth dragons slumbering in these sealed caverns.
Meanwhile, Ventus has returned from mapping an area again since the small mapping orb she had used before was now fine tuned to focus on the wind currents that monsters and herself may utilize. It was a chance to help track the potential for weather shifts and migratory patterns of avian monsters.
She found that very interesting but also found what she had heard about Ignus even more interesting and shocking too.
"I find this out of character. Ignus rarely causes problems in this way that force me to act. I have other matters to attend to." Terron was already trying to figure out how he could avoid this and return to his own interests. The stubborn aspect of his personality made him not desire to do anything else outside of his plans.
Whether this would be the case though, remained to be seen since Walker could already sense the increased fire mana in the distance. He had been pushed to return to keeping his mana sense more refined and expanded. But that didn’t prove to be an issue.
He had grown so used to it, that his mana sense was like flexing a muscle. After resting, he actually felt that he was able to use it more fluidly. Most likely part of the benefit of returning to understanding his physical body and the very form that mana took while moving through him. He had rested a part of who he was that he had been using constantly since he gained the skills to sense mana at a more refined level.
"This is ridiculous. I am going to beat some sense... wait, how is a dragon from the elemental planes here safely?" Now Remey was catching on to the added problems that came with Ignus’s actions.
Most races from the elemental planes couldn’t easily remain within the world due to the mixtures of manas. They did not have resistances to other manas causing there to be a chance for severe illness or death!
"Most likely the fact that they are in the fire dragon managed territory. And also that Ignus is present with them. I think he is just waiting since he knows this will be a big deal." Walker shrugged and they all started walking together. Remey a little faster than the others, but that helped them all pick up the pace to handle the matter sooner.
As they approached the pair of dragons and Ignus took his dragonkin form, everyone was surprised to see the odd dragon beside him also taking a dragonkin form. However, the features were sharper and small blue flames sparked up here and there around scales still very much visible.
It was because the blue flame dragon in question was not used to this form. Nor were they prepared to take the form quickly since they never needed to change forms around their own people let alone others. But the mana here was weaker so they could more easily suppress their own flames that would normally radiate from their body.
"I brought this one back. They lost their territory and standing so they thought they would mix some lies and truths to get some territory here. They were dumb, but this welp can learn a thing or two before we send them back. Other than that, these blue flame dragons are weaker than our elder dragons for the most part. They gossip and make up lies to hold fear and strength. They aren’t real dragons at all."
The way that Ignus spoke was calmer and didn’t show much anger. Instead, he showed a tactical understanding of what lies and rumors could breed for Genesis.
"You gave them a reason to gossip about your strength then?" Ventus was looking carefully at Ignus.
While the other royal dragons had also been busy growing and focusing on their own tasks, they tried to keep some eyes on the other royals of their kind. But to realize she had missed such a massive change in how Ignus operated? Now that was something very shocking to her perception of who Ignus was.
She and Terron both knew that something was between himself and Remey. They knew that Ignus had been pushing to expand the ideas of the fire dragons while also changing the ways that they lived. But to see that he put aside anger and fighting entirely to do something? Well, they were not sure who they were looking at right now.
"You can stop looking at us like that. We are not going to eat you," Terron growled out toward the blue flame dragon in dragonkin form. The fear on his face said it all and Terron did not like seeing a fearful dragon. Even if it was a legitimate reason for showing some fear.
Everyone present was stronger than the blue flame dragon. They did not hide their strength, but the terrifying part was that this was just their natural state. They were not pushing strength and power over him, they just naturally lived at a level of strength that seemed to affect the world around them. It was just power, plain and simple.
"Ignus brought you here, I assume to learn a lesson or two before you get your entire blue dragon kind wiped out by us or other people. I understand that living in different places makes everyone grow and survive in different ways. I had an interesting dark elemental merchant who came with sneaky tricks to trade and whatnot too. But you, should learn well because there are hatchlings born here that could probably rival you in a couple of years instead of tens of years."
Walker looked at Midnight who was observing the blue flame dragon and also somewhat playing with the ambient embers of blue flame in the air. "Take Midnight for example. She could easily beat every dragon in the world because she grew under the pressure of the world and the situations we encountered. She might be an outlier, but she is the peak example of what the word is capable of."
Ignus saw that Walker was supporting his choices and gave a small nod of appreciation. When Remey saw this, she sighed before looking at the blue flame dragon. After a moment, she grabbed their arm and began to drag him away. "You will be telling me every detail about the blue flame dragons. When you are done you can walk about and learn with a few guards. You are not here freely, you will have rules to follow." Her words had made the decision.
This left Ignus to explain what he had heard and everyone to dwell on the past.
The fact that dragons within the elemental planes knew of the testing and experimentation done by the immortal chasing race hurt them. They did not wish for that sort of history to be shared. But it also was their job in today’s era to erase the ill feelings associated with that.
They had worked to repair damages and grow beyond it. Now they needed to live that to the fullest so that there could be more growth in the future.
"Midnight, go with Remey, you can help a lot since you help the youngest dragons understand the rules." Midnight’s eyes glistened before accepting a role model mission and rushing off.
Ventus and Terron looked at Walker carefully. "I think they will do fine, but Ignus, you made a big discovery. The rumors about Genesis need to be calmed and we need to show more about peace and prosperity in unity. I believe you can start by educating the blue flame dragons with some of your elders. I believe that Terron and Ventus would support you in this as you bring the matter to the other royals."
