Chapter 2949. Real Dragon

Chapter 2949: 2949. Real Dragon

"Chains of bone covered their body. Broken scales and exposed bone and flesh. Missing parts of organs and several sections of their talons cut. They were not a full dragon but they were found alive."

"Contunie." Ignus was watching the blue flame dragon with a lowered head speak and try to tell the story. Yet, the pressure from Ignus just increased as more fire mana seemed to gravitate toward Ignus. His strength showed the pressure that only came from those of power who must be listened to and orders followed.

"It is said that those who found them managed to speak with the dragon. A dragon that had weaker mana and barely any life in it. At first, it was just attempts to roar and lash out despite the chains, but once those chains were cut away and the twisted body was fully freed..."

It was clear that the image described in these stories was enough for the blue flame dragon and the other blue flame dragons to scare easily. If this was being passed down then it was a story shared to hatchlings or the weaker blue flames dragons in the blue flame section of the fire elemental planes then it was being used to terrify them of the world or of how dragons could be treated outside of here.

It was a story meant to cause fear and also a truth that was twisted to serve someone else’s purpose. But it was not necessarily false.

"The stories of torture and of experimenting. The stories of blood being taken for consumption or testing. They were told as that dragon perished. The fire dragon of red scales Beatrice was not from here, but we all heard of them. Of the king who ordered the experiments and the servants that did them."

Ignus had gathered the truth, or what this blue flame dragon believed to be the truth of the matter. Regardless of the actual facts, it was clear that the manipulation from older and stronger blue flame dragons started early within their dragon culture here. However, these rumors and stories could spread to other fire dragons.

He knew that this could cause a gap between the fire dragons of the fire elemental planes and Genesis. Or the world as a whole. It would cause problems since distrust would be there at the start of any relationship regardless of Ignus being there or not. He also understood that if he were to simply tell this blue flame dragon the truth and send him away nothing could come of it.

This blue flame dragon had already been pushed out of whatever territory or role they had within their own strange and manipulative society. Therefore, they were searching for a way to find territory and strength elsewhere. The truth was harsh, but the blue flame dragon in front of him would not survive elsewhere because of the circumstances of their own people.

If they went out in to the other parts of the fire elemental planes, they would end up breaking a balance or a servant of others. Therefore the chance that they could work with the world and take territory there seemed logical. The experiments made the world a fearsome place that they could be sure other dragons might not go.

None that they believed could fight him.

That was the wrong way of thinking though. Ignus was here and much more powerful.

That was the key point that these dragons did not consider since they did not go to the world or take the time to meet with Genesis ambassadors. They did not realize that there were those protecting the seemingly weaker people from the world. That there were those who could easily stand tall and face the leaders of their societies in an actual fight.

"The king you speak of called themselves the immortal king. They cursed themselves with undead immortality after losing their entire people to death. They experimented and searched for immortality until they destroyed themselves. They freed their undead body and came to the elemental planes recently."

Ignus loomed over the blue flame dragon seeing the fear in the eyes and the dimming flames.

"The heroes of the world ventured here and chased after him. They fight him. They caused damage done to be repaired. They met with powerful beings capable of waving away the very existence of this elemental plane you were born in. and now that immortal king is trapped in an endless punishment. Forced to be prisoner yet again, not just of their own curse but of the suffering they caused."

"So yes, a king did those things, but it was generations ago. So many that some alone today can sleep and never hear about it even in their worst nightmares. So tell me, what use is this knowledge?"

Ignus was not disregarding the blue flame dragon’s knowledge but showing that he did not need it. He also was memorizing the name of the ancient fire dragon Beatrice who lived many years ago and never returned from whatever was done to them. He would look in to the history and see if they were even known, but he doubted it.

The records from that long ago and a fire dragon Beatrice may never have even been recorded. Regardless, he knew that taking the time to look was the least he could do so that the end would be recorded. However, he also needed to handle the actual problems.

"Now, my strength should have gathered some of those that caused you to come here." Ignus looked away in the distance as the mass of blue flames swelled. He knew from the way the mana felt that something controlled them. However, he was even more surprised to see that it was a figure similar in size to him, if not slightly smaller due to the fact that they were also a blue flame dragon.

A few more in the distance much further away could be seen, but none of them were close to the same size or even risking the chance of coming near.

"The fearful actions of your people are not befitting of dragons. You may have a home here, but you are not confident enough to be recognized by the dragons of the world." His words boomed out causing the blue flames to suddenly be thrown at him.

Ignus easily swatted it away showing that his might and mixed flames of various forms were truly dominant.

The blue flame dragons were not the strongest, but Ignus saw the potential in how they condensed the flames and used them. How they merged blue flames in to a hotter singular point creating more force and heat. It was impressive, but it was only one aspect of fire and not the whole.

He was learning and growing by understanding the whole.

Ignus was making himself a point in space that would stand for the whole fi fire as it was and what it meant to the fire drains. He was not looking to become an elemental king. Or a god. He was looking to understand what a dragon was and what a fire dragon was. How fire and dragons came together.

He was looking at what the dragon race was in terms of their flames and how he could become that very aspect.

The large blue flame dragon stopped, instead of an arrogant and angry rebuttal, there wasn’t any response. Just a shocked halt and frozen appearance.

"You are a small part of the fire dragons living within and on the outside of the fire elemental plane. You are weak and use your words to show strength that cannot be backed up."

"I will take this welp with me. It will be the one who learns of the world and returns to you when I deem they are fit to do so. You will cease spreading rumors of the world as you believe it to be. It has greatly changed and you are not in a position to speak of it."

"Your blue flame dragons will learn respect and order.

You will learn what it means to be a dragon!" His roar caused the fire mana to vibrate. The control that the blue flame dragon possessed was nothing but annotation of what a fire dominator dragon could be.

"Under the name of Ignus, the royal fire dominator dragon, you are to remain within your village and cease leaving I less it is to survive and hunt until my return." His order came with a wave of mixed flames pressing every dragon in the distance down.

It was the order of a royal. Of a dragon beyond them.

The blue flame dragons had lived and grown in a place with greater mana, purer mana. But they were complacent and reliant on words and tricks.

They were lazy. They had not grown even close to their potential as dragons.
