Chapter 2948. A Fire Dragon’s Might

Chapter 2948: 2948. A Fire Dragon’s Might

"Lord!"

"Lord!"

"Lord!"

The three shouts of acknowledgment were made as Ignus stepped out of the world and through the bridge to the fire elemental plane. He showed he was powerful. That he was confident. He showed the dragonkin and the elder dragons he brought to this bridge he was prepared to handle the issues of dragons outside of Genesis and the world here and now.

It was also their promise to him. A clear cut show that they stood loyal to him as their royal fire dragon and to the fire dragons themselves. Even beyond that, the dragon race.

Whether Ignus showed it or not, he had pride in the fact that more than just fire dragons and fire dragonkin had arrived here. He was glad to see that a few water and dark dragons who worked under his fellow royal dragons had arrived.

While they had not shown loyalty to him because he was their leader, they showed it because he was handling an important matter that would affect the perception of all dragons within the world to those within the elemental planes.

Ventus had already gone to the wind elemental plane to learn. She had taken opportunities and come back with a much higher purity in her wind magic. So much so that she had begun teaching the wind dragons more and more. The same could be said for the growth of the light dragons. However, Ignus did not dwell on this.

He realized that he was entering a dangerous place as soon as he moved halfway through the bridge.

The feeling of foreign fire mana was always strong around a bridge that connected to the fire elemental planes. Yet, this was different.

It connected to a specific place within the fire elemental planes since the elemental planes were always shifting to remain within balance of one another. Therefore, this fire elemental alone being entirely related to the blue flames was exactly what he had expected. But the potency was beyond his expectations.

As Ignus understood this, he shrugged off his dragonkin form and allowed for his full dominator dragon form to show.

He knew that the force of a dominator dragon was a path that came as an anchor. Someone who would hold an area of the elemental plane they were in together and in balance. Yet, for the world, he was an anchor for it too.

He did not have a territory and did not follow the same rules as the elemental plane dragons. He did not follow them because he was not from them. He would maintain their balance because of the relationships his people built and the alliances he was in.

This did not mean he would be sidetracked in to anything else though. He had his standards and promises to keep.

What he did not fully say was that he felt he was at an edge.

Ignus had grown further than what a dominator dragon to their knowledge, should grow. He felt that he and Remey had already gone beyond a standard of what strength should look like by bonding. He had felt that some time ago and so had Remey.

He had offered her part of his mana and the very core of who he was because he believed she was able to go further and gave his full trust.

Even when he had first met her, he saw her more closely to a fire dragon than even some of the fire dragons he had seen born within his own villages. She had the personality to match and she did not look down or away from a fight.

In their bond they had shared a great deal and she had fused her very soul and body to one. She had become a true spirit dragon that had a physical human form and could manifest her mana to become a dragon in form as well. Made of flames. Standing tall. Showing that something that would exist within the elemental planes could be brion of the world and live within the world.

He had needed to share mana with her at the beginning for her health and she had ventured in to the elemental planes for her health as well. Now, that was less of a problem or risk. She had grown and understood her body, now he was at that point too.

They had fought out of ritual and position to show their bond and such, but he had also seen the small changes in his strength and body.

The scales that had fallen off and grown again tougher and better suited for the fire mana he was always immersed in. He had felt the changes in the various forms of fire mana he encountered that dwelled within him. Alchemy flames, flames carrying some light mana, and even flames that carry a hint of water mana.

While he had not spoken allowed these things, he knew them. They were all parts of fire, even those met with other manas and burned those other manas.

He felt that he was right there waiting for a chance to take another step.

Whether it was a step toward something truly unknown for a dragon, or a step toward something known only to dragons he had never met. Neither mattered. It was a step forward toward more strength. And he embraced that as these blue flames focused on heat anmd quick burning moved around him. That blue flame mana was different from his but it fit itself right in to his body easily while his towering figures arrived surrounded by flames of blue and even pants that also burned blue.

He had arrived in the blue flame elemental plane within the greater fire elemental planes.

And in front of him stood a larger blue scaled dragon wreathed in sharp pointed blue flames. Its wings are aerodynamic and heated, ready to dart off using the fastest flames it could muster. But its sharp burning eyes focused on Ignus showing a hint of terror that only Ignus could grasp.

When it had made these claims of knowing a fire dragon thrown in to the fire elemental planes. When it made claims of knowing experimental aspects from when the demon king was testing magic to obtain his goal. It had not known Ignus’s proper strength.

Now that Ignus stepped in to the elemental planes, the mana knew that a dominator dragon arrived and shifted. And the blue flame dragon knew as well.

Ignus was a force of nature right now.

Not a weak leader to be manipulated.

"You called me. You made claims. You wished to show your strength and power. So here I am. I am Ignus, the royal dragon of fire. A leader of the Genesis alliance and protector of balance within the world and even outside of it. I protect those around myself. I stand for those who need my power. You seem to need my power too, don’t you?"

It was like rain washing away chalk.

The arrogance that the blue fire dragon possessed was being washed away and showing the truth. Claims of rumors and information about this or that which were untrue were left out. Now, the true flames were shown, the pressure from Ignus taking ownership of the blue fire mana easily around him was enough to cut away the fabric and bring the truth out.

"You desire strength. You wish to grow territory. You even believe that you can manipulate to get what you desire. That may be true for some, but for you? It is far from the truth the moment you called for me. So tell me, what do you have to offer that may allow you to visit Genesis temporarily? What do you have to show that will allow me to escort you, a child, to my protected territory within an alliance founded by more races than you have ever met?"

The force crashed down on the blue fire dragon, stamping out the jet like blue flames on its body. Ignus did not hold back too much, just enough so that he did not harm this dragon. But his eyes showed that he was ready to crush it if need be.

With some internal urging, the arrogance of the blue flame dragon returned, but in a different way. They knew they had failed to get their desires. They knew that they had made an error. But that didn’t mean it would be an entirely clean cut failure, right?

There was a chance still.

"I can tell you of the fire dragon Beatrice that came to the fire elemental planes through an unknown path of fire after being used as an experiment by a king of the world."

"Not the demon king?"

"N-no, I just heard a king. I made up that part."

"Then honesty will show me if you are worth the time." Ignus growled out and waited to hear more.
