Chapter 2951. Doing The Same

Chapter 2951: 2951. Doing The Same

"Ignus, you did well." The sudden voice from Ignus’s shadow made everyone frown slightly.

Not because it was Mordant surprising them by moving through the shadows, but because they did not sense him. Even Walker barely caught a hold of the feeling and simply believed it was one of the younger serpents looking for Onyx or doing their jobs.

This alone proved that Mordant had made some form of advancement in his understanding of traveling in shadow using dark mana. Being able to lessen his presence and appear to not be there or be a weaker presence was amazing for anyone trying to remain lowkey.

Where it also helped was scouting and the educational uses it had once people were learning to go in to dangerous areas out in the wilderness or in dungeons. Mordant would be able to pass the knowledge on very well.

"You seem to have learned some tricks." Ventus hummed softly while looking at Mordant who had just stepped from the shadows like it was a natural common every day thing to do for anyone. But what kept everyone focused was that the features of his face and body were taller and slimmer. He has certainly advanced more than he let on.

He might still rival what Ignus had done while growing and even taken a slight step ahead. The only thing being that Ignus would still win in a fight, Ignus had a better overall understanding of what fire was as a whole than Mordant who focused on specific aspects of Dark mana.

"I say that it is a good choice because I have managed to come in to contact with the pitch scale dragons. A species in the dark elemental plane currently working and serving a race called the hollow eyed race, a species that look like demi-humans with mole traits that are known for their unfair contracts."

The revelation that Mordant’s work had been in contacting other dragons was massive. It meant that Ignus was not the only one who had some contact but this was also proof that there were other dragons hearing about Genesis.

This not only meant dragons would be looking at the world, but all of the elemental planes were beginning to share the information. It was most likely the work of the leading forces like the true sages who had been asking for assistance here and there. Not to mention those who had been helped.

Just the fact that Walker had assisted various times in issues related to chaotically moving manas and damaging additions to the elemental planes was enough. Anyone would gossip about that.

"The contact that the pitch scale dragons made was to assist in defending the hollow eyed race while they received materials from resources that the hollow eyed race farms and processes. Over time, more contracts were made and now the pitch dragons can not stay there unless they work constantly. They are a deterrent factor taken advantage of. The dark contracts used tie them to the hollow eyed race. They can’t do anything to harm them. And it is well known."

It sounded like they had made themselves slaves by accident. It was the hollow eyed race that just took advantage of the situation. Then again, that was not unfamiliar. Many merchants with weaker or smaller hearts would utilize whatever they could to make a better deal. If they could get someone to work for free they wouldn’t bat an eye at that.

"You chose the perfect time to tell us too." Terron’s understanding was all too clear. Mordant had come here to ask for assistance, not to share information. He had just waited to see if it was the opportune moment to do so.

"He wants help with it? But I have to watch over that piece of trouble who doesn’t know a thing about helping others or even living well with others. I will let you handle this." Ignus didn’t hesitate and moved away. He also clearly had Remey in mind since he would be able to work better with her. Not to mention Midnight had gone along too. So it was just Walker, Ventus, and Terron left.

He could hope that Onyx might find interest in this, but Onyx could be business somewhere else and this was nothing of the same sort.

"They like contracts, right? And they want protection?" Walker smirked. He knew how they could play this and Ventus seemed to understand that the expression he wore was one that came with some mischief.

"I take it that the reason you even managed to contact them was because they were sent to negotiate some trade by the hollow eyed race with the world and Genesis?" Walker knew he hit the nail on the head with this. It made sense that there would be even more benefits to this race if they could contact the world easily.

Mordant nodded, but they all knew he had not accepted or entertained one of their contracts. It was why he had investigated the situation of the dragons that came looking for him through the ambassadors sent to meet other races. Most likely those emissaries were sent away from the hollow eyed race territory because they were unfamiliar and the true dark sage was not going to force any changes to happen.

"Since I assume this to be the case, we just see if the contracts with the pitch dragons can be transferred to us. In return, we will allow the hollow eyed race a contract to trade with the Genesis alliance. It doesn’t sound like much, until we tell them about our deals with other races in other elemental planes. And we show off the unity we have here. They won’t be able to hold back from trying to sue their contracts to get in to business here."

"They are a race of merchants after all. They thrive on deals and contracts. They would fit better with those who have the class of contract maker or oath maker. They seem to primarily use such things as currency too so trading contracts to us would be easily done. I just need them to take us more seriously. To see us instead of the pitch dragons who are made to be their guards and liaisons."

It was most likely the case that Mordant was seen as another dark dragon and not given the proper respect he was owed. But Walker, Terron, and Ventus with him? Now that could make waves and the three of them joining Mordant would not be an issue since they had strong enough resistance to manage the dark mana within the dark elemental plane.

"This should give me a little more testing chances with teleporting through the bridges to the elemental planes too. Perfect chance." All three looked at Walker wondering just what he thought space mana was and how he thought teleportation practice was so easy. They could wonder for days and not have a clear idea of how his thinking worked.

"You have learned space mana that fast?" Terron’s stubborn stone like face moved slightly in surprise that Walker could easily speak of teleportation now.

"I have been working on it and the multidimensional storage spaces I have. I realized I can advance it all more if I can get back to the outer elemental planes area. I just have been spending time with the people I love more than experimenting lately." He stuffed and wrapped them all in mana before the three royal dragons found themselves partially through the bridge to the elemental plane.

Not the nearest bridge either. One further away and currently attached to the dark elemental plane. The exact one Mordant had been at recently.

"You still shock me. I will work harder to understand movement through the darkness of shadows." Regardless of Mordant mumbling to himself, Walker did feel the pressure from showing off like that. He knew he went overboard but took a deep breath and started moving forward.

Ventus used wind mana to boost their speed allowing them all to progress faster. But they soon found their way blocked by a wall of dark mana. It was within the last portion of the bridge too.

"They are making sure we can’t easily walk in to their territory. That’s a smart way to deal with the bridges and their movement as the planes shift naturally." Walker’s praise came with a smirk as he tapped in to the dark mana and it shifted back dramatically.

How could he easily let the mana be used to block him? He had strength enough to do what he wished in a non violent way.

Not to mention it being easier for him to do this than stand and wait for someone to arrive who may just reject him. He was strong enough to travel as he wished no matter what. And he had been recognized by the liberal dark king and true dark sage.

He could do this without any worries of deprecations to himself or others.
