Carol didn’t hold back. She shoved Daniel with tremendous force, even adding a burst of energy blast behind the push, and half-conscious, Daniel tumbled straight into the Sun’s core.

This was the true heart of the Sun, an unimaginably violent furnace, a colossal bomb that released unimaginable amounts of energy every second, where countless nuclear fusion reactions occurred every moment, generating the power that sustained the entire solar system.

Gradually, Daniel felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over him, then he fell asleep.

The Vibranium suit covering his body continued absorbing the surrounding energy, and thanks to Vibranium’s unique properties, it could absorb nearly any form of energy and store it within its molecular bonds.

One minute passed, ten minutes, an hour.... time continued to slip by, and outside the Sun, Carol was starting to lose her patience.

’Why hasn’t Daniel come out yet?’

She wasn’t worried about his safety in the slightest. If anything, she figured he was either messing with her... or he’d fallen asleep.

She remembered seeing him sleep inside the Sun before, and the more she thought about it, the more convinced she became that he’d simply dozed off, otherwise there was no reason he’d stay inside for this long.

There was no chance anything had happened to him, and she wasn’t about to stand around waiting forever.

What if he decided to sleep through the entire night?

"Those Skrulls are still lying in the cafe."

Only then did Carol remember.

"I’m done waiting. Time to head back."

She decided to return to Earth instead. Although she’d recovered her memories, many questions still remained unanswered.

For example... Why were both the Kree and the Skrulls after the Light-Speed Engine? What roles had each side played in all of this?

Were the Skrulls really the villains? And were the Kree truly as righteous as they claimed?

Carol felt she needed to uncover the truth.

Thinking back to how the Kree had deceived her for years, she found herself questioning the very nature of their civilization.

Why had the Kree Empire always been at war? Was it really just to defend their own worlds? She doubted it.

She decided to return to Earth first, find the Skrulls, uncover the truth, and only then travel to the coordinates Dr. Lawson had entrusted to her before her death.

The coordinates were technically much closer than Earth, located in outer space, but with the Skrulls still on Earth, and with no idea whether they were friend or foe, Earth had to come first.

When Carol arrived back at the cafe, the entire area had already been sealed off with police tape.

She stepped inside, and fortunately, the unconscious Skrull was still lying exactly where she’d left him. Fury and Coulson were sitting nearby, waiting, after all, someone had to clean up the mess Daniel and Carol had made.

Normally, there was a highly classified department jointly supported by several governments that specialized in covering up incidents involving Daniel but today was different.

Fury and Coulson had witnessed everything firsthand, and as intelligence agents with high security clearance who also happened to be the closest responders, they’d been assigned to handle the scene.

Not that Fury minded, in fact, he was delighted. He hadn’t touched anything, instead, he’d secured the perimeter and waited patiently inside the cafe for Daniel and Carol to return.

Now, one of them had.

"Hello." Seeing Carol walk in, Nick greeted her warmly.

"What are you doing here?" Carol asked.

"Someone had to secure the scene," Nick answered casually before smiling.

"Mind if we talk?"

As he spoke, he gave Coulson a subtle look, signaling him to leave.

At the moment, Coulson was still only a trainee agent. Under normal circumstances, someone of his clearance level wouldn’t have been allowed to know about extraterrestrials at all, and the only reason he was involved was because he’d happened to witness Daniel flying in earlier.

To be fair, today was also Fury’s first real encounter with aliens.

Carol seemed easy to talk to, and since she didn’t appear particularly guarded or suspicious, maybe... he could get quite a bit of information out of her.

"So, this green guy is the Skrull you mentioned?" Nick pointed towards the unconscious alien.

"Yeah."

Carol glanced at the Skrull, who wasn’t dead, just unconscious.

"Are there many of these aliens on Earth?"

Carol thought for a moment.

"Six or seven, I think."

When she’d flown back to Earth in the escape pod, she’d seen several more ships following behind.

Nick nodded thoughtfully before continuing.

"So... are you human?"

"Why did these aliens come to Earth, and how strong are they?"

Once he realized Carol was willing to answer, Nick kept the questions coming. He even carefully steered the conversation towards Daniel.

How strong was he? Where had the two of them gone just now, and what exactly had happened?

Nick handled the conversation masterfully, constantly watching Carol’s expressions while asking questions, and whenever she showed even the slightest hesitation or discomfort, he’d immediately drop the subject, switch to casual conversation, crack a joke, or ask something harmless instead.

Little by little, he managed to learn an astonishing amount. If Daniel had been there, he probably would’ve been surprised.

The future director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who always seemed inscrutable and intimidating, wasn’t nearly that imposing yet.

Looking at him now, he was an excellent conversationalist, effortlessly guiding discussions and building rapport. In terms of communication skills, he wasn’t any worse than the future Phil Coulson.

Of course, if Daniel had been present, Nick probably wouldn’t have dared ask nearly as many questions, as Daniel’s first impression was simply, not someone easy to chat with.

Meanwhile, Carol unknowingly continued revealing information. Nick even had Coulson bring her a change of clothes since the Kree combat suit she was wearing was far too eye catching.

With Nick intentionally keeping the atmosphere friendly and relaxed, Carol gradually developed a favorable impression of him, and the two chatted pleasantly for quite some time.

Eventually, she even agreed to let Nick accompany her in tracking down the remaining Skrulls on Earth.

Deep inside the Sun.

After absorbing energy nonstop for several hours, Daniel’s Vibranium suit had finally reached its limit. It was overloaded and at any moment, it could explode, and before long...

Boom!

The suit finally burst apart. The explosion unleashed a powerful shockwave, triggering another massive solar storm.

Yet Daniel didn’t react in the slightest. Still fast asleep, he merely felt his body suddenly become lighter, as though something restraining him had disappeared, then he lazily rolled over and continued sleeping.

Completely naked, right in the middle of the Sun, and only after an entire Earth Day passed did Daniel finally begin showing signs of waking up.

It was hot... incredibly hot. Every cell in his body was frantically absorbing the Sun’s energy, and the area from which he drew power continued expanding farther and farther.

"So hot..."

"So... hot..."

Daniel mumbled in his sleep. He still wasn’t fully awake, tossing and turning restlessly.

Finally, the heat became unbearable, and his eyes slowly opened, but the instant Daniel opened them, the entire solar system fell into darkness as every planet and every sky went black in an instant.

At that very moment... Daniel was absorbing almost all of the Sun’s light, leaving nothing behind for other planets.

Golden light beams erupted from his eyes, shooting into the depths of space. No one knew where they ended, but everything in their path was instantly reduced to ash.

His entire body glowed with a radiance even brighter than the Sun itself as every muscle in his body swelled dramatically, and his frame expanded, becoming noticeably larger and more imposing.

On Earth.

The moment darkness blanketed the world, the Ancient One turned her gaze towards the Sun, and a faint smile appeared on her face.

’I suppose... I shouldn’t provoke that little one anymore.’

In Asgard.

Heimdall, standing watch over the Bifrost, immediately looked towards the distant solar system.

Within the palace, Odin sensed it as well, a being of extraordinary power... had emerged.

Inside the Sun, Daniel continued venting the overwhelming energy surging through his body, and with a casual wave of his hand, he unintentionally created an enormous solar flare.

He felt so full of energy that he desperately wanted to punch something, and only after finally calming down did Daniel notice something as he looked down.

"...Huh?"

He blinked, then reached down to check.

"Wait..."

"Where’d my suit go?"
