Marvel: Infinite Stat Points
Chapter 347: Plan B
After hastily leaving Lucas Bookstore and taking a spaceship out of 404 Universe and into the Superflow, a sudden sense of unease arose in 1610 Mister Fantastic's heart.
However, he pondered for a long time but could not find the source of this unease.
Helpless, he had to start his Plan B first.
He revealed the news of Galactus to the Earth-616 Ultimates, who had initially transformed Galactus into the Lifebringer, asking them to find a way to transform Galactus back into the Lifebringer.
Afterward, he would reveal the whereabouts of Logos and others to the Lifebringer, guiding the Lifebringer into battle with Logos and the Dark Celestials, and taking the opportunity to obtain information fragments of another Universe within the Dark Celestials.
Only...
"The Lifebringer is no match for Logos, I must find a way to get him more help."
Sighing, 1610 Mister Fantastic thought, 'I hope the Lifebringer himself understands this and actively seeks assistance.'
1610 Mister Fantastic's spaceship sped through the Superflow, and soon disappeared into a bubble-shaped object.
An orbital station in outer space of Earth-616.
"Captain Carol, we've received an anonymous message. The Lifebringer was attacked and re-transformed into Galactus. He is currently causing widespread destruction at coordinates (443, 1557, 2200, 2800, 4396, 888484)."
"Can you find the person who provided the message?" Carol asked.
"No, their technology is superior to ours."
Carol frowned. She smelled a conspiracy, but she was a fearless warrior.
"Ultimates, move out!"
— — —
"Hehehehe, Sorcerer Lucas, you..."
Slap!
"Hello, Sorcerer Lucas, say something, hello?"
Looking at the darkhold in his hand, Chthon fell silent.
Suddenly, he turned and asked the succubus beside him, "Is my laughter very unpleasant?"
"Lord, your laughter is like an echo from the abyss, full of charm and a different kind of allure, drilling straight into people's hearts, lingering, making them..."
As she spoke, the succubus looked at Chthon, unable to resist licking her lips.
Chthon ignored the lustful succubus and merely asked, "Then why did he hang up on me?"
The succubus replied, "Perhaps, he doesn't know how to appreciate it."
Chthon nodded, a wicked smile appearing on his lips. "You said my voice is charming and alluring, and I am pleased, but you just said my friend doesn't know how to appreciate it, and I don't like that."
As Chthon's words sounded, the succubus's seductive expression vanished, her face instantly turning pale, as if drained of blood.
"What are you afraid of? I didn't say I was going to eat you."
Casually flicking the succubus away, Chthon waved his hand, losing interest. "Go back to wherever you came from."
The succubus, having narrowly escaped death, thanked him profusely and fled in a panic.
Chthon paid no attention, merely pulled another succubus closer and said, "Continue the music, continue the dance."
He was merely inherently evil, not cruel and foolish. If he killed this succubus in front of the entire dance troupe, what would the other succubi think, and would they still be able to relax and play?
While listening to the music and enjoying the dance, Chthon urged the darkhold in his hand to contact Lucas.
A moment later, the call connected, and a solemn and majestic voice came from the other end.
"Arise, ye wretched of the Earth! Arise, ye prisoners of starvation!"
Chthon frowned, muttering a complaint to himself, but he merely listened quietly.
After the song ended, Lucas's voice sounded. "Chthon, I'm sorry, I was just listening to a song, kept you waiting."
Chthon said with a forced smile, "No matter, I think this song is quite good."
"Really? It seems we truly have a tacit understanding, then let's listen to another one."
Before Chthon could respond, the sound of chanting came from the darkhold again.
"Sorcerer Lucas, do we need to harm each other?" Chthon's voice echoed faintly.
"Chthon, you don't like it? I thought we would be like-minded individuals who could cooperate with each other?"
"I really like this song." Chthon's tone suddenly shifted.
"Actually, I don't like it."
"I suddenly don't like it either." Chthon immediately changed his mind.
"Chthon, if you change your stance so casually, won't you betray me in the future? How can I trust you to cooperate?" Lucas accused first.
Chthon fell silent, speechless. After a moment, he said faintly, "Sorcerer Lucas, I'm not afraid of you betraying me or tricking me to death when I cooperate with you, so what are you afraid of?"
"Heh heh, what you said makes a lot of sense too." Lucas chuckled, then he said seriously, "Chthon, before we officially cooperate, I have a few questions for you."
"What questions?" Chthon straightened his expression, pushing away the succubus in his arms.
"First question, who imprisoned Eternity?"
Chthon frowned.
The information he obtained from eavesdropping on Galactus did not contain information about the identity of the person who imprisoned Eternity.
Naturally, the information he revealed to Lucas would also not involve the person who imprisoned Eternity, but Lucas specifically asked this question.
"Chthon, you should know." Lucas's voice came through, making Chthon's brows furrow even tighter.
What did he mean, he should know? Did he know or hear of the person who imprisoned Eternity?
Suddenly, Chthon had a flash of inspiration, and a guess almost escaped his lips.
"First..."
"First Firmament." Lucas's voice preempted him.
"The one who imprisoned Eternity is the First Firmament. I didn't expect you, Chthon, not to know even this information."
Faced with Lucas's taunt, Chthon was speechless.
"Second question, is Eternity really imprisoned?"
"Naturally, Eternity himself told Galactus, and I overheard it." Chthon replied.
Realizing that Lucas had other sources of information and possibly knew more than him, he no longer hid anything.
Chthon had clearly realized that in this cooperation, he needed Lucas, not Lucas needing him.
"Just because Eternity said it himself, does that make it true? Or could Eternity not detect your methods?" Lucas countered.
Hearing this, Chthon's expression was somewhat unsightly, but after a moment of thought, he said, "Eternity is the embodiment of the Multiverse. His every word and action represent the Multiverse, he would not lie easily."
Lucas said calmly, "Profound lies are composed of truths. Let's not discuss this question for now, I don't have an accurate answer either."
After a pause, Lucas asked the third and final question.
"Last question, your father, my other ally, the Creator's true stance. Is he Eternity's man, or the First Firmament's man?"
Chthon pondered, recalling the scene a few years ago when he, the Creator, Lucas, and Set visited Galactus together.
At that time, after Lucas left, Galactus kept the Creator alone to discuss important matters, revealing to the Creator that Eternity was imprisoned and requesting the Creator's help.
In front of Galactus, the Creator showed a surprised expression, but after leaving Galactus's warship, his demeanor immediately returned to normal.
This discrepancy was noticed by Chthon, who was monitoring Galactus, which indicated that the Creator most likely already knew about Eternity's imprisonment and was merely putting on a show for Galactus.
"First Firmament."
A sharp glint flashed in Chthon's eyes, a smile appearing on his lips, and he leaned back into the arms of the succubus beside him.
Chthon understood.
The question itself was a form of information. Rather than Lucas asking three questions, it was more like Lucas sharing information with him.
As the recipient of the sharing, providing emotional value was more important than giving a correct answer.
Chthon's demeanor relaxed, showing a hint of laziness, but his tone was firm and resolute. "First Firmament. Previously, when Celestials and Dark Celestials were at war, he used the name of revenge to make Set and me ambush Celestials during the chaos."
"Heh, not necessarily."
On the other side of darkhold, Lucas couldn't see Chthon's expression.
He explained, "I'm not sure of the answer to this question either, but based on the information I've gathered, the Creator is more likely to be Eternity's person."
Chthon raised an eyebrow, thinking of the second question Lucas had asked. His relaxed expression became solemn again, even a bit grim.
"If things are as Sorcerer Lucas says, then... Eternity is fishing? If we act now, we might be held accountable afterward."
"What? Chthon, are you still afraid of this? Where's your determination to even be Eternity's son?"
"That was then, this is now. If we can choose the right side, that's naturally better."
After a pause, Chthon asked, "Does Sorcerer Lucas mean we should help Eternity?"
"No, we don't help anyone. Or rather, we help whoever wins."
Upon hearing this, Chthon's brows furrowed, and they deepened further.
Previously, when Eternity was imprisoned, he thought it was an internal matter of the Multiverse, and he wanted to fish in troubled waters to hunt and replace a cosmic entity.
But the actual situation was not like that. This was a cosmic war between Eternity and First Firmament. If Eternity was defeated, the entire Multiverse might be destroyed.
When the nest is overturned, no egg remains intact. If the Multiverse is destroyed, the beings residing in the Multiverse will also face catastrophe.
This was not what Chthon wanted to see. He only craved greater power, but he had no resolve to die.
