Chapter 339 - 339: Running All Over the Planet with the Starship!

Iron Man had already safely escorted the starship away.

Karl looked at the massive wave of Skrulls surging toward him.

Tothwanwell had already issued an absolute order.

If they failed to recover the starship, their entire plan would collapse, and neither their ambitions nor their ultimate objective would ever be realized!

None of the Skrulls dared lower their guard.

As more and more of them rushed forward, Karl once again saw the familiar infrared security beams appear around him.

At that moment, Tothwanwell approached wearing an enormous cloak, his sharp eyes filled with hatred.

"You and I had nothing to do with each other!"

"Why did you insist on interfering in this matter?"

"Damn you!"

"My greatest mistake was not dragging you completely into this mess earlier!"

Karl merely rolled his shoulders and stretched his neck.

He found Tothwanwell's words utterly ridiculous.

Besides, everything had already happened.

No matter how much Tothwanwell regretted it now, there was nothing he could do to change it.

"I never deliberately set out to oppose you."

"We simply stand on different sides, so there was never any reason for us to work together."

"I'm only fulfilling my responsibilities."

"Protecting the lives on Earth is part of that responsibility."

"Although I'll admit that figuring out how to crack the defenses on your starship is going to take some effort."

"But instead of worrying about me, you should probably be worrying about Dotilt and Ultron."

Karl's sudden words left Tothwanwell confused.

Dotilt was one of his most capable subordinates.

And Ultron's strength should have been more than enough to eliminate Eric O'Grady!

"I should have known that was a trap…"

"You're clever."

"You took advantage of how desperately I wanted to obtain the ultimate weapon and dangled exactly the right bait in front of me."

"Well played."

"Even I'm impressed."

Tothwanwell shifted his shoulders, disbelief filling his eyes.

Karl, however, knew that this was only the beginning.

Could such a small setback really be enough to make Tothwanwell crack under pressure?

Surely not.

"You don't need to worry so much."

"I simply want you to understand one thing."

"Even if you manage to collect every ultimate weapon you're searching for, you still won't be able to destroy Earth!"

"That is the duty of a sorcerer."

Karl immediately unleashed the Phoenix Force.

A brilliant crimson radiance erupted around him.

Tothwanwell was instantly shocked!

"How is that possible?"

"How could this brat have fused with the Phoenix Force so perfectly?"

"The Phoenix Force I've wanted for so long has actually appeared in his body!"

"With power like that, he'll inevitably become an enormous threat in the future!"

Tothwanwell couldn't help marveling inwardly.

At the same time, his determination not to let Karl escape became even stronger.

If Karl really escaped from this place, dealing with him in the future would only become harder and harder.

"What are you standing around for?"

"Form up!"

"Whatever happens, don't let him escape!"

At Tothwanwell's command, the Skrulls immediately tightened their formation.

Since Karl had already come this far, he certainly had no intention of leaving without causing some serious damage first!

After all, they had gone to such lengths to construct such an enormous headquarters.

Even Karl had to admit that it was impressive.

"Come on."

"I was even planning to stay for a meal."

"Is this how you welcome a guest?"

"You attack me the moment I arrive?"

Karl sent a surge of Phoenix Force blasting toward Tothwanwell.

Unexpectedly, Tothwanwell twisted aside and dodged it.

The Skrulls below were even more alarmed.

They had no idea just how powerful Karl had become or how devastating that Phoenix Force would be if it struck them directly.

"What's wrong?"

"Afraid to take the hit?"

Karl's provocation worked extremely well.

Under repeated taunting, Tothwanwell was finally forced to confront the attacks directly.

But Karl had never intended to determine a winner between the two of them.

Since he was already here, his real objective was to destroy as much of their critical equipment as possible!

Karl's attacks were never meant to carve out an escape route.

Every strike was aimed directly at the base's most sophisticated machinery.

These machines represented years of the Skrulls' work.

Their advanced technological equipment would be essential to their plans for conquering Earth.

"This is terrible!"

"He's destroying our base!"

"Stop him!"

"Attack!"

Only now did Tothwanwell realize what Karl was actually doing.

Karl had deliberately made it look as though he were simply fighting back against their attacks.

But every one of his strikes had actually been directed toward important equipment whenever an opening appeared.

It was infuriating!

"Look at these beautiful machines."

"It really is a shame to destroy them."

"You people certainly are intelligent."

"But when that intelligence is used for something like this, all it does is create endless disaster."

"So I can't exactly allow you to continue running wild here!"

Every palm strike Karl unleashed carried tremendous power, far exceeding what the Skrulls had expected.

The entire situation rapidly descended into chaos.

The Skrulls attacked with growing desperation.

Karl fired a powerful energy wave, blasting the surrounding attackers several meters backward.

The enemy quickly reorganized and launched another assault.

But in that brief interval, Karl turned around and destroyed two more genetic devices.

These were machines that Tothwanwell and numerous Skrulls had developed specifically to create copies of superheroes.

All the DNA they collected had to pass through these devices for processing, transfer, and enhancement.

Among the equipment was also machinery Ultron had been using for his own self-upgrades.

Once Karl had wrecked enough of the facility, he looked around at the results with considerable satisfaction.

"Not bad!"

"This place looks much cleaner now."

"The only problem is that there are still a few pests standing around."

Karl once again unleashed the Phoenix Force.

Crimson radiance swept across the entire base.

In an instant, the entire area seemed to become a sea of red.

Karl glanced dismissively at the infrared security grid overhead.

Now that he had mastered the Law of Time, even trapping him inside this space would accomplish nothing!

The dazzling crimson light left Tothwanwell barely able to open his eyes.

He waved an arm to clear his vision.

By the time he could see again, Karl had already vanished.

Tothwanwell could only grit his teeth and hammer his fist against the throne beside him.

"Damn it!"

"He escaped again!"

"My entire base has been destroyed!"

"If I don't avenge this humiliation, then what meaning does my ultimate objective even have?"

"This is a disgrace!"

"An absolute disgrace!"

Tothwanwell continued roaring in fury.

Meanwhile, inside Karl's protective shell, Eric O'Grady finally received the message confirming that Karl had withdrawn safely.

Eric immediately jumped to his feet and brushed himself off.

He looked over at Ultron and Dotilt, who were still enthusiastically fighting among themselves, and felt utterly speechless.

"My mission is complete!"

"I'm not sticking around to play with you anymore."

"See you!"

Eric immediately turned around and vanished from the area.

Dotilt stared at Ultron, who was still repeatedly attacking her, and could hardly believe what she was seeing.

"The target is already gone!"

"Look behind you!"

"You're awfully impressive when you're attacking your own allies, so how did you manage to let some unknown guy escape right in front of you?"

Ultron launched another strike.

But this time, his attack hit nothing but empty air.

Humiliation and fury filled him.

After everything that had happened, Eric O'Grady had still escaped.

Now there was only one question left.

How were they supposed to explain this failure?
