Chapter 383: Calling Him Shameless

He hadn’t been scared a moment ago because he hadn’t seen Nathan Fawcett. But the instant he saw Nathan, he didn’t want to stay a second longer.

"Leaving so soon?" Nathan asked. "You’re really not staying a little longer?"

"No, no!" Sean Sutton said, quickly leaving with his family.

Once they left, the show was over, and the other customers dispersed.

Anne Sutton looked at Nathan and said, "I can’t believe how effective you are just by showing up!"

Nathan’s gaze fell on Anne. "Sorry, I’m late."

"I’m just glad you’re here," Anne said. "It’s pretty funny, though. He acts so fearless, but the second he saw you, he couldn’t get away fast enough."

’He must be one of those types who bullies the weak and fears the strong.’

Nathan said, "My reputation precedes me. Nothing to be done about it. Let’s go inside. How’s your mother?"

His gaze fell on Mrs. Sutton.

Mrs. Sutton said, "I’m fine."

Anna Linden glanced at her and said to Mrs. Sutton, "Let’s go inside first."

Anne and Nathan followed behind. She looked at him and asked, "How did it go at the company today?"

"It went smoothly."

"That’s great!"

Nathan glanced at her and said gently, "What, were you worried about me?"

"I was just checking in. If I didn’t, you’d accuse me of not caring!"

The two walked inside, and Nathan secretly reached out to take Anne’s hand.

Anne glanced at him. ’His mother and my mother are right in front of us!’

She quickly pulled her hand back.

Nathan looked at her. "Why are you pulling away?"

"Don’t you go too far," Anne said with a stern look.

Nathan gave her a helpless look.

Inside the private room, the food had already been served.

Everyone sat down.

Anna looked at Nathan and asked about some company matters, and Nathan gave her an update.

Anna said, "I can rest easy with you handling the company’s affairs. About the Shields family..."

Seeing his mother bring up the Shields family again, Nathan’s expression darkened.

Anna glanced at him and said, "You get upset the moment I mention the Shields family?"

"I’m not," Nathan denied.

’But he really couldn’t stand the Shields family!’

’And to make matters worse, his mother trusted Stella Shields completely.’

Anna said, "I’ve already spoken to Stella Shields. I told her not to come looking for me anymore! I had dinner with the Shields family yesterday and saw what kind of people they are. No wonder you despise them so much."

Anne and Nathan were both very surprised to hear Anna say this.

Anne looked at Anna in astonishment. ’I can’t believe it...’

’She actually told Stella not to come see her anymore!’

’That doesn’t sound like something Anna would say at all!’

Anna said, "Thinking about it now, I was indeed too good to the Shields family! I never took the time to truly understand them. I only gave Stella preferential treatment because she was always by my side. From now on, you can handle their family’s affairs. I won’t get involved anymore."

Hearing Anna’s words, Nathan said, "Thank you, Mom."

’He never thought the day would come when Anna would actually cut ties with the Shields family.’

’It was because his mother backed them that the Shields family got more and more audacious, to the point where they thought they could walk all over him.’

After they finished eating, Anne looked at Nathan. "Are you heading back to the office?"

Nathan said, "Yeah, I have some things to take care of back there. I’ll get going then!"

"Okay."

"Bye-bye, Daddy." Ian, sitting beside Anne, waved at Nathan.

Nathan glanced at him, ruffled his son’s hair, and walked out the door.

Seeing Nathan leave, Anna also breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Now that he’s back, no one will bother me with company business anymore!"

’She was only interested in matters at the hospital.’

’She truly had no interest in business.’

’The Linden Group’s assets might be the envy of everyone, but she simply didn’t have the heart for it.’

Anne looked at Anna and smiled. "I never knew Dr. Linden was afraid of something too."

Anna, trying to save face, glared at her, then stood up. "I’m leaving!"

Not long after Anna left, Anne and Ian stayed behind to help her mother finish balancing the accounts before leaving the restaurant.

Sean Sutton took his family, found another restaurant, and sat down to eat.

Maya Evans looked at Sean Sutton and asked, "What are you going to do?"

"What do you mean, ’what am I going to do’?" Sean looked at her.

Maya said, "About your ex-wife! She’s opened a restaurant now. Are you just going to let it go? She’s sure good at squandering your money!"

Sean said, "The money’s with her. How she wants to spend it is none of my business."

"She’s trying to run a business, right? Let’s go to her restaurant every day and see how she manages that."

"Don’t even think about it!" Sean said. "It’s not that I’m scared of her, but if I go too far, Anne will get angry! How much money does Mina Ford even have? The Fawcett Group is the real prize! Don’t you get it? I want to ask Anne to set me up with a job at the Fawcett Group. I’m still young; I don’t want to be idle just yet."

"I don’t think she’ll agree!" Yvonne Evans said. "Dad, she’s not the least bit polite to you."

Sean said, full of confidence, "Why wouldn’t she? She’s my daughter! She has to listen to me! No matter what, I’m the one who brought her into this world. She’s just a little mad at me right now because of her mother. She’ll get over it in a few days."

’Anne wants to ignore me?’

’Not a chance!’

Maya said, "Exactly. That damn girl, would she have grown up without you? Could she have married into the Fawcett Family without you? Now that she’s made something of herself, she thinks she can just be ungrateful? It’s not that simple!"

Hearing her words, Sean nodded. "You’re right."

Just then, someone walked over and said, "Are you Sean Sutton?"

Sean looked at the person. "I am..."

"Get the hell out of here, right now! We don’t welcome men who abandon their wife and daughter!"

"What do you mean?" The person was clearly an employee of the restaurant. Sean was completely thrown off.

Maya also stood up. "We’re here to eat. What’s with your attitude?"

"You have even less right to talk, you homewrecker!"

After saying that, the person threw them out.

Kicked out halfway through their meal, Sean and his family were completely bewildered.

Yvonne was on the verge of tears from anger.

Passersby were pointing at her and cursing, calling her a homewrecker’s daughter, saying her mother was a homewrecker...

She had no idea what was going on.

When they returned to their hotel, even people there recognized them.

People were cursing them the entire way.

Sean was very confused, but Yvonne was the first to figure out what was happening. "Dad, look."

She brought her phone over and handed it to Sean. When he looked, he saw that a video of them causing a scene at Mrs. Sutton’s place earlier that day had been posted online. It was now going viral. His personal information had been dug up, and people were saying he cheated on his wife, had an illegitimate daughter and son, and to top it all off, he was shameless enough to go to Mrs. Sutton’s restaurant to cause trouble...
