Marriage Contract with my Cursed Alien Mate
Chapter 208
Chapter 208: Chapter 208
Dron feigned forward but the warrior in front of him took a step back. He wasn’t just some simple fighter, this warrior was trained.
Dron put a hand to side and prayed that Tempest would see him. He didn’t want her trying to help him. Dron would have to take this man out on his own.
He noticed that while he was sizing up the man in front of him the other warriors have stopped fighting. They were all staring at Dron and the large warrior in front of him.
Whoever won this fight would win the battle.
It made what Dron was about to do even more important. He had to make sure his people came out on top.
Dron dashed to the side, rolling to the ground to pick up one of the discarded metal weapons. He wasn’t foolish enough to think that he would be able to to take this man on using just his fists. He may have to end with that but to start Dron would need to weaken the man in front of him.
Dron pulled the weapon to the side, and sliced it through the air in the direction of the man. The warrior ducked and spun unsheathing his own weapon and bringing it across in a wide arc toward Dron.
Dron had to jump back in order to get away from the blade. There wasn’t much time for him to reset. He balanced on one foot and jerked his own blade toward the man, upwards. The warrior pulled his midsection back but it forced his head forward.
Dron saw the opening and took it with a severe uppercut to the mans chin. The blow barely shook the man in front of him.
The warrior grinned and continued to come forward.
He sliced and slashed at the air with a quickness that had Dron on full retreat. There were no more freebies.
He wasn’t aware of his surroundings any more. All of his attention had to stay on the man in front of him or there was no way that he would make it out of this battle in tact.
He cursed the second he felt the side of his foot make contact with the small bit of debris on the ground. Dron tripped backward at the same second the warrior in front of him brought the edge of his sword toward his head.
It was only due to his instincts that he was able to twist his body just enough. The blade missed the side of his neck but the edge of the blade caught him on the shoulder.
Dron screamed out in pain as the sharp metal slid in further.
"Dron!" Tempest yelled from behind him. He could feel her through the mate bond. Feel her need to help him.
"No! Don’t!" He screamed back.
"You should let the little one come to your rescue, you need all the help you can get." The warrior spoke in his native tongue. For some reason Dron could understand it.
"Yeah keep talking. I hope you’re enjoying your last moments alive." Dron tried to stay strong, tried to project his alpha pheromones out into the area as much as he could. Unfortunately, it didn’t look as if it worked on the warrior.
Dron initial assessment was right, this alpha was stronger than him.
Whatever Dron attempted to do the Alpha in front of him would be able to counter. The only thing that Dron had that the man in front of him didn’t was the love of his fated mate.
That was what was keeping Dron up and not in the dirt where his body was demanding he go.
"You can take him! Do it Dron!" Tempest shouted from the side. He was glad to see that she wasn’t trying to come any closer.
Dron shoved the debris he’d tripped over out of the way and steadied himself yet again. The blood pouring from his shoulder was going to be a problem.
Dron noticed the warrior in front of him staring at the wound. A look of confusion on his face.
Dron chanced a glance down to the wound and noticed that it was already starting to stitch up.
He guessed it wouldn’t be as much of a problem as he thought.
His eyes jerked up to the warrior in front of her.
"What kind of magic do you weild?" The man asked.
"It’s not magic, it’s my fated mate. And the reason I’m going to be able to come out victorious. I’ll take your surrender now, though watching you bleed out into the dirt is preferable." Dron smirked.
This only caused the warrior in front of him to grow more furious.
He banged at his chest before he rushed Dron again.
Dron moved slower but it gave him the perspective he needed to see where the warrior was lacking in skill. His footwork.
Dron did his best to be more light on his feet, dash and shuffling from side to side, trying his best to knock the warrior off balance.
It started to work. Dron was finally on the offensive. He swung his blade over his head and brought it down hard in the direction of the warrior.
The enemy dodged out of the way but he was clearly at a loss. Dron kept on slashing at the man.
He was getting a little too cocky.
Dron brough the weapon down again but this time he left his midsection open. The warrior ducked and kicked forward. The weapon in Dron’s hand was knocked out and skittered across the arid sand on the ground.
Before Dron could reset, the warrior rushed him and wrapped him up in the strongest of holds. The two steel like arms wrapped around his midsection.
The warrior lifted Dron up of the floor and squeezed tightly.
Dron couldn’t breath. His vision started to go blurry as he fought to get his arms out from the monster of a man’s grip.
The roar of the crowd around them grew louder. Dron could hear a few of the soldiers he was with calling out for him. Begging him to fight harder and not give up.
It wasn’t as if Dron wanted to give up. He wasn’t given much of a choice.
Dron’s eyes rolled to the back of his head. Unconsciousness felt so good.
"Dron! Please, no!" Tempest cried for him.
That bond. His heart fluttered as hard as it could in his compressed chest.
It wasn’t much but it gave him just enough strength to focus on what was happening to him.
Dron couldn’t move his arms but he could move his legs.
He pulled back one of his legs as far as he could and jammed his knee into the warriors midsection. A puff of air exploded against Dron’s face. The smell made him want to throw up.
Thankfully it forcedthe warrior to release Dron just enough.
Dron pulled up his arm and used it as a club in very center of the warriors skull. His horns cut into Dron’s skin but it wasn’t enough to get him to stop.
Dron beat on the man over and over until he was forced to let go.
Dron fell to the ground sucking in as much breath as he could. The roar of the crowd changed from the opposing side yelling in prospective victory to the soldiers on Dron’s side screaming in renewed hope.
Dron didn’t hesitate. He knew that it was only a short amount of time before his enemy would be at his full strength again. Dron didn’t try to look for another weapon. Instead he simply wailed on him with all the strength he had. Punching and clawing at the warrior. Screaming in rage and primal bloodlust.
The warrior fell to his knee. Dron knew that he could stop. Could ask the man to yield. He couldn’t.
Something inside of Dron demanded that the man in front of him pay for the sins of all the other opposers.
Dron kneed him once and the warrior fell flat on his back, blood dripping from every orifice on his face.
Dron kicked at the man over and over until he was sure that he wouldn’t get back up.
"Wait! Wait! Don’t ...kill me. We can help you. We’re only doing what was right. She killed... our leader." The man gasped and wheezed.
Dron subtly looked over to Tempest. Her face had fallen. If there was any doubt that what she had done caused this, what the warrior had just said cleared it up.
"She did what she had to do, and now so will I?" Dron reached down for the weapon that was previously kicked out of his hand before walking back to the alpha who laid on the ground in front of him.
"Wait...wait..." The alien tried to speak again but Dron had already heard all he was going to listen to.
Dron brought the weapon down in the center of the warriors chest before yanking it to the left where the heart lie.
The warrior gurgled for a second before he released his last breath.
The roar of approval and victory raced through the settlement.
Dron looked up, expecting someone from the opposing side to rush forward and take the place of the leader he’d just killed.
Dron got back into his fighting stance.
Waiting.
Waiting.
He looked around, confused as to why no one was rushing him.
The rest of the people in his group looked around also. The enemy was littered in between everyone, yet, no one was fighting.
Dron couldn’t understand what was going on.
Then he saw it happen.
It was unbelievable for a second.
Dron blinked a few times just to be sure that he was seeing what he thought he was seeing.
The first weapon hit the dirt. Then another and another.
Soon all the weapons of the alphas that had just broken down the settlement doors owned were in the dirt and they all fell to their knees.
Dron was even more confused than he’d been a second ago.
"What are you doing? Is this some kind of trick."
Gerax slowly made his way in Dron direction, he was limping and a little bloody. It seemed the beta didn’t just hide away while the alpha’s did all the fighting.
"What is going on?" Dron asked Gerax.
Gerax looked around at the warriors who were kneeling reverently in the dirt.
"They are paying respect."
Dron looked down at the warrior he’d just killed, "Oh, right." He tried to back away but Gerax reached forward and held him still.
"No, not to him. Once a leader has fallen, he is no longer viewed as revered. They are paying respect to their new leader."
"What?" Dron asked looking around.
"You’ve defeated their strongest alpha. They all answer to you now."
Dron was in a state of shock. He hadn’t expected that.
He started the day with a little more than a hundred people not including the children, now he had more than two. Most of them trained fighters.
Dron didn’t want to jinx it but with these new additions, it was starting to seem like this war against the high royals was going to turn in his favor.
