Gandhari smiled at the sight of her children.

She understood their excitement better than anyone.

For four years, they had grown without their father beside them.

Some of the younger ones barely remembered the day he had left, while the older children had spent countless evenings listening to stories about him from their mothers and Satyavati.

Now they were finally going to see him again.

Bhishma arrived shortly afterward, walking toward the palace entrance with his usual calm dignity.

Karna and Ashwatthama were beside him, both looking toward the road with unmistakable anticipation.

Karna had known Devara for years, but even he was curious about what four years of training under Vishnu had done to his friend.

Ashwatthama folded his arms.

"I wonder what he looks like now."

Karna smiled.

"Probably the same."

Bhishma glanced toward them.

"Do you really believe that?"

Karna laughed.

"No."

Ashwatthama gave a faint smile.

"Neither do I."

The three warriors continued looking toward the distant road.

Gandhari eventually stepped forward and stood beside them.

Her eyes remained fixed on the horizon, and for a moment the queen who had ruled an entire kingdom with confidence seemed less like a ruler and more like a wife waiting for the person she had missed for four long years.

Satyavati noticed her expression and walked over.

"He will be here soon."

Gandhari smiled softly.

"I know."

She placed one hand over her heart.

"I just didn’t realize how much I missed him until today."

Satyavati gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"That is what happens when someone becomes part of your life. Even when you are busy, even when you are surrounded by people, there is still one particular absence you notice."

Gandhari nodded.

Before she could answer, another roar suddenly echoed through the streets.

The four divine sabertooths were getting closer.

The crowd following behind them could now be heard as well, their cheers gradually growing louder as they approached the palace.

The children immediately became excited.

"He’s coming!"

"Father is coming!"

Several of them rushed toward the palace gates, only stopping when their mothers called them back.

Gandhari looked toward the approaching sound, and a smile slowly appeared across her face.

After four years, she could finally hear the sound she had been waiting for.

Her husband was coming home.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the shore beyond the borders of Devara’s kingdom, a brilliant golden light suddenly appeared above the ground.

The light grew brighter for a few seconds before slowly fading, revealing Devara standing alone upon the shoreline.

His feet touched the earth once again after years spent away from Bhulok, and for a moment he simply stood there without moving.

The wind coming from the sea brushed against his face.

Devara took a slow breath.

He was home.

He turned his gaze toward the kingdom that stood beyond the distant shoreline.

The massive walls were clearly visible from where he stood, rising proudly above the surrounding landscape.

The sight immediately brought back countless memories.

He remembered the first time he had entered those gates, the days when the kingdom had still been taking shape, How it grew, the festivals held within its streets and the countless ordinary moments he had shared with his family.

It had been years since he had last stood there.

Four years.

Four years since he had left Bhulok with Lord Vishnu.

Four years of training beneath his father, of learning the secrets of Maya, of mastering the Gada and of being pushed beyond limits he had once believed were impossible to cross.

Devara looked down at himself for a moment.

He could still remember the young man who had left this place four years earlier.

He had already possessed tremendous power then, but he had relied heavily on instinct and raw strength.

He had known how to fight, but there had still been much he did not understand about himself or the abilities he carried.

Now he could feel the difference.

His movements were more controlled.

His mind was calmer.

His understanding of Maya had completely changed.

Even the way he held his Gada was different.

Devara smiled faintly.

"Four years..."

He looked toward the kingdom once again.

"I finally made it back."

For a few moments he simply stood there, allowing the feeling of returning home to settle within him.

He had travelled through countless places, fought enemies that could have destroyed entire armies and experienced things that most people would never even believe existed, yet standing on the shore and seeing his own kingdom again brought him a strange sense of peace that none of those experiences could provide.

Then he heard something.

A distant sound carried by the wind.

A roar.

Devara raised an eyebrow.

Another roar followed.

Then another.

He immediately recognized them.

The four divine sabertooths.

A smile spread across his face.

"So they sensed me already."

He looked toward the kingdom walls and could faintly hear something else beyond the distance.

Voices.

Cheers.

Thousands of them.

The people knew.

His arrival had already been announced by the creatures that had been waiting for him.

Devara slowly began walking toward the kingdom.

Each step brought him closer to the place he had left four years ago.

His family was waiting.

His children were waiting.

His friends were waiting.

His people were waiting.

And somewhere beyond those walls, Gandhari was waiting for her husband to finally come home.

Devara tightened his grip around his Gada and smiled.

The long journey was over.

He had returned to his kingdom.

The sound of the four divine sabertooths grew louder with every passing second.

Devara could now hear the heavy pounding of their paws against the massive stone bridge that connected the two shores, the bridge itself forming part of the kingdom’s main gate.

The structure had been designed not only as an entrance into the kingdom but also as a passage across the water, allowing travellers to cross directly from the opposite shore into Devara’s territory.

Normally, guards would be stationed along both sides of the bridge, carefully controlling everyone who entered and left the kingdom.

Today, however, those guards were barely paying attention to their duties.

They were watching the four enormous beasts charging toward the other end of the bridge.

The sabertooths did not slow down.

The moment they crossed the main gate, they continued racing toward Devara with their enormous bodies moving at astonishing speed.

Their roars echoed across the water as the people following behind them cheered loudly, while several guards hurried to the sides to give the divine beasts enough room.

Devara stood waiting on the shore, a smile already spreading across his face.

He barely had time to prepare himself.

The first sabertooth reached him and immediately leapt.

"Whoa!"

Devara instinctively raised his arms as the enormous beast crashed into him, nearly knocking him backward.

Before he could regain his balance, another came from the side, followed by the third and fourth, until all four divine beasts were surrounding him.

Their tails were moving wildly.

Their ears were raised.

Their enormous mouths were open as they released excited growls and roars.

And then they began licking him.

One swept its tongue across his cheek.

Another licked the side of his face.

The third pushed its enormous head against his chest while the fourth repeatedly nudged him with its nose, clearly demanding his attention.

Devara burst out laughing.

"All right! All right! I know! I’m back!"

The four sabertooths ignored his attempt to calm them down and continued showing their excitement, licking his face and rubbing their enormous heads against him as though they were trying to make up for four years of missed affection in a single moment.

Devara struggled to remain standing beneath the attention of four divine beasts.

"You could at least give me some space."

One of them immediately licked his face again.

Devara wiped his cheek and stared at it.

"You haven’t changed at all."

The sabertooth gave a deep, satisfied growl.

Devara placed both hands against its enormous head and rubbed its mane.

"I missed you too."

The words were simple, but the warmth in his voice made the beasts settle slightly.

One by one, they lowered their heads around him, remaining close as though they had no intention of allowing him to disappear again.

The citizens who had followed them across the bridge erupted into cheers at the sight.

Their king was finally home.

The four divine sabertooths had reached him before anyone else, and their greeting made it impossible for anyone to doubt how much they had missed their master.

Devara looked past the beasts toward the kingdom gates.

Beyond the bridge, thousands of people had gathered

He could see the palace in the distance.

He could see familiar faces waiting for him.

And somewhere among them were his wife, his children and the people he had left behind four years ago.

Devara’s smile slowly widened.

He gently scratched the largest sabertooth beneath its chin.

"Come on."

The beast lifted its head.

"Let’s go home."

The four divine sabertooths immediately moved alongside him as Devara began walking across the bridge toward his kingdom, while the citizens followed behind in a growing wave of cheers.

After four years, their king had finally returned.
