Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress
Chapter 334 - 334: Ch 334: More About Magus Organisations
The next dish that Elise brought out, it was four types of crispy fried dishes. The fat of a monster had been used for the frying process instead of oil and several spices had been mixed with flour.
So it was an extremely tasty and flavourful dish even though this was not really good for health. But knight's have no need to worry about things like that and Weiss guessed that the same was true for the magi too.
And it looked like Weiss was correct. Seeing the fried foods, Sera looked even more satisfied and happier than the previous dishes. It looked like this was definitely her favorite so far.
And with her good mood, her mouth also became loose. Next she started to explain the Starlight Institution, specifically Starlight Institution of Rek-aira.
According to her, there were actually several organisations with the name of Starlight Institution. The most famous one among them was founded by a rank 7 legendary magus. But people like Sera and even the rank 2 magus Allain had only heard about this and had no way to visit this legendary place.
The Starlight Institution that was sponsoring this trip, they had nothing to do with this legendary organisation. Instead they were related to another Starlight Institution that was founded by a rank 5 grand magus.
Among the three organisations who were relevant to Weiss right now, the Starlight Institution was the youngest. It was created only 300 or so years ago. And for the world of the magus, this was extremely young for an organisation.
The founder was a rank 4 grand magus and this fact alone was enough to make this organisation more valuable. That was because neither Shadow Crevice Mountain or the Kremsaw Society had a rank 4 at the current moment.
But that did not mean Starlight Institution had better magic study material than the other two. As both Shadow Crevice Mountain and the Kremsaw Society also had rank 4 magi in the past, their foundation was not lacking at all.
And this rank 4 magi was not really going to teach the apprentice level students. So for newbies like Weiss and the others, the most important magi were the rank 1 ones because they would be the ones who were going to actually teach them.
And in this section, Starlight Institution was lacking very badly. As a new organisation, they had very small amount of highly stabilised magi. So far, they had managed to manage with the prestige and connection of the rank 4 magi but now that he himself was unable to make any serious moves because of an incident, the Starlight Institution had lost most of their advantages.
They still had some connections with the other Starlight Institution with the rank 5 magus in charge but they had quite a few organisation like this under them. So the help they provided was not really very useful.
As Sera told this much, she devoured the last bite of the fried dish. But instead of stopping, while Elise served her the next one, she continued talking. This was a good sign and it meant that Sera was confident about the food here.
So as the well cooked river fish dish with some rice appeared beside her, Sera continued talking. Next she explained what kind of magic the Starlight Institution was good at.
The rank four grand magus of the Starlight Institution was an expert of earth element. So obviously this organisation was an expert in this too. Other than the earth, they had a good collection for the ice element too.
But for anything else, they were extremely mediocre. Especially for the elements like fire, lightning, light and darkness, they did not even have a rank 1 magi, which was not really a good look.
So according to Sera, Weiss should think about joining the Starlight Institution if and only if she had affinity for earth or the ice element. Or it was not worth it.
Weiss had no idea what elements were but for the time being, she felt like revealing that to Sera was not a good thing. And with what Sera was saying, she was able to kind of guess what this was about. So Weiss did not interrupt Sera as she continued speaking.
...
She had already told Weiss everything about the Starlight Institution, so now, only the Kremsaw Society was left, which was her own organisation.
According to her, Kremsaw Society was not the oldest among the three but it was currently most stable. And this was the only organisation among the three which was not founded by a single person.
Instead Kremsaw Society was created by a group of 7 magi who were being oppressed by a large organisation. They had created this new organisation as a form for protest.
Obviously this was something that the large organisation did not like. So the earliest days of the Kremsaw Society was filled with conflicts and war.
But at the end of this mighty conflict, it was the Kremsaw Society who had managed to get the last laugh.
One of the founding magi was able to step into the rank of four and had used a forbidden spell to kill the leader of the enemy, thus bringing an end to this conflict.
And after that, the Kremsaw Society had thrived with several more rank 4 powerhouses being born here. And because they had so many versatile rank 4 magi, they had the most complete collection of magical knowledge.
Currently, Kremsaw Society also had the highest number of rank 3 magi which was 6. It was really a high number and definitely was very impressive.
As for any factions, there were none. This organisation acted as a massive family. So the internal bond was very powerful. And most importantly, because of their bloody background, they were most combat oriented among the three.
So this was how Sera described her own organisation and mentioned little to no flaws. Weiss was definitely going to ask for a second opinion on this but so far, Kremsaw Society did look like the best option if Sera was not fooling her truth detection abilities.
