Chapter 33: Ava: I can’t absolutely tell him!

At the top floor of the Blue Company, Kares was sitting in her office looking troubled as she looked at the report in her hand.

"How can some of our employees disappear just like that without a warning? Just to be found dead in the next day! This is absolutely ridiculous to me." Her cold voice tore through the room as the secretary that was standing before her was freezing from her aura. She was annoyed by that.

Her brain worked hard, setting different scenarios and possibilities about the existence of someone in the company working behind the scenes.

"Did you prepare all the CCTVs recordings of the day they disappeared?" She asked again.

"Yes Ma’am, and what we found was weird."

"How so?"

"We found that during the working hours, they got a phone call from someone before they went to the HR department to ask for a leave and surprisingly, the HR department didn’t refuse the leave, despite the numbers of the employees asking for it." The secretary replied with a confused expression on his face as he truly didn’t understand why the HR department accepted the leave for several employees in a single day?!

Even more, how could those employees answer a phone call during working hours which was prohibited according to the company’s policies.

"What was their reasons for the leave?" Kares asked again as the more she heard, the more questions appeared.

"They varied. Some said that their wives had an accident and needed to go to see them, others said their only grandparent was going through a cardiac arrest and needed to be there for him/her immediately. There was no single reason for their leave but several and they were varied." The man said, his voice getting more confused.

To this, Kares thought more about it. The strange phone call, the HR department that accepted the leave of several employees.

’Someone is targeting my people and he is doing it without leaving a trace behind. No, wait a seocnd—’

"Did you notice on the CCTV records any weird expressions on their faces after the phone call, or any weird behavior?"

The secretary went into deep thought for a moment trying to remember the records.

Kares waited patiently without any interrupting, her expression was cold while her eyes hid deep blood thirst, barely concealed.

Then after few seconds in silence.

"Now that I remember, while reviewing the CCTV records, I noticed that those who got the phone call, they massaged the bridge between their eyes for a moment before they went to the HR department." As he said so, Kares’s eyes gleamed for a moment.

"I don’t know if that is something helpful though—"

"No, that’s enough, you can go and do your work." Kares didn’t let him continue before she dismissed him.

The secretary nodded before excusing himself and left.

While Kares leaned back against her chair sighing softly, then a lazy smile adorned her face as her blue eyes turned to red like pools of blood.

"Playing tricks like that on me isn’t good, Mr. Mastermind~" Though her voice appeared with a hint of tease or playfulness, it contained coldness that could freeze a person instantly.

Meanwhile, Arthur was in his office in his mansion dealing with work regarding his company and handling some documents that were left untouched through the days he had been absent, while Ava was on his lap sucking his blood from his neck that made her shiver in pleasure from just the taste as if she was going through orgasm.

Arthur smiled before leaning forward to her now red ears before saying in a husky deep voice.

Immediately, her eyes turned blood-red glowing intensely with heavy emotions.

It was coming from Ava’s phone that was on the office.

And although she tried to ignore it, the sound was just too annoying that she almost thought of throwing the phone away.

Arthur looked at the caller ID and noticed that it was Kares.

"I think you should accept this call, Ava." Hearing her husband’s deep yet serious voice, she pulled back and adjusted her postuer on his lap making her back rest against his hard chest.

Then she picked up the phone and accepted the call.

"Why are you calling? You interrupted my precious time!" Ava said once she accepted the call in an irritated voice.

"My, you are still suffering from that foul mouth of yours~?" The voice on the other end sounded teasing and slightly playful making veins appear on her forhead.

"I think you are really a wast my time by calling me at this hour, and this minute you bitch! I’m hanging up!"

"Hold up here, if you are thinking that this call is a waste of time, then you should listen to what I want to say."

Ava looked more irritated but still decided to listen.

"Go on then."

"Someone or some people are impersonating your family’s special ability."

As Ava heard this, she immediately calmed down and a serious expression appeared on her face. What Kares said was something really dangerous.

"You think something like my family’s bloodline’s ability is easy to copy?"

"I don’t, but similar abilities with similar effects could, especially when it looks completely the same as yours."

Ava stayed silent for a moment as her mind was going through different things at the same time. Though she appeared to be crazy and like an obsessive lover whose brain was only thinking about Arthur, she still could think normally if the situation asked for it.

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely."

"Send the evidence, right now." Ava demanded with a heavy tone.

"Figured. See you~" As Kares said so, she hung up and right after that, she sent her all the evidence along with the CCTV records via email to Ava.

And once she received it, she immediately looked at the records along with Arthur who was watching too.

She saw certain employees who suddenly received a phone call during the working hours and without hesitation they answered.

And after that, they massage the bridge of their noses almost at the time time before going to the HR department to ask for leave.

From the beginning to end, everything looked weird.

Just the fact they answered during the working hours was strange enough, but more than that, the simple and almost coordinated move they did after the phone call.

It looked mostly perfect.

And Arthur noticed this too.

The first came to his mind was mind control. As someone who enjoyed his free time reading, he accidentally came across a web novel where he saw a mind controlling ability that could make people do whatever you wanted with just a single command.

"This looks similar but my family’s bloodline ability isn’t the same at all. The fundamentals are different."

"What’s your family’s bloodline ability?" Arthur asked as he till this point still didn’t know Ava’s bloodline ability. He didn’t even know any of the bloodline abilities that Kares or any other vampire he had met at all.

And hearing his question, Ava had an expression of realization.

"Oh, I didn’t tell you?"

Arthur looked at her with a deadpan expression as if telling her ’Do you think so?’

And this made her smile awkwardly before replying.

"A bloodline ability is an ability that is inherited from generation to generation with each one improving it and making it stronger than before, but in some cases the ability itself weakens due to the inability to improve it. However, the bloodline ability is so rare and something that can’t be found anywhere. Only the strongest vampire clans have it."

"Mine is one of them. And the ability’s name is Absolute Command. We could force our will on others to do whatever we desire."

Arthur listened and looked at Ava with an intrigued expression mixed with a hint of doubt.

And she caught on it and looked away while sweating bullets.

She didn’t want to tell him about the crazy things she did when she was young. It’s a secret that must be kept hidden from the world.

She would take it to her grave!
