Lord: I Grind EXP with Warband Panel
Chapter 463 - 211: Plan of Attack
Chapter 463: Chapter 211: Plan of Attack
For the Gray Dwarves, rebellion was now a matter of great urgency.
’They couldn’t possibly stop the rebellion halfway, could they?’
But given the current situation, they expected few to answer the call. Once the Beastman Imperial Court reacted, the Gray Dwarves would be the first to be dealt with.
The Beastman Royal Family’s hatred for the Gray Dwarves, those backstabbers, probably ran deeper than their hatred for humans.
The Gray Dwarves had already prepared to go it alone. But then, unexpectedly, news arrived that the Centaur Royal Court had been annihilated...
To the anti-Emperor faction, the Centaur Royal Court was known as the Beast Emperor’s top lackey! They were a sharp tool used to keep the Gray Dwarves in check!
And now, the Centaurs were gone!
Robson himself probably had no idea what a massive shock his actions had sent throughout the entire Beastman Empire.
Originally, only a handful of supporters were willing to follow Monroe’s rebellion, and most of them were so closely tied to the Gray Dwarves that they had no choice but to rebel.
But after what happened to the Centaur Clan, many of the Beast Races who had been ambiguous before now began to declare their stance.
Monroe understood. It wasn’t that these people didn’t want to rebel; they just wouldn’t act without a sure thing.
After much consideration, Monroe finally decided to meet with the human general.
"Oh? Something I want?"
"The path through the Demon Beast Mountain Range that leads to the Dwarf Kingdom...
General, I wonder if you’re interested in this information. Perhaps the Fengman Clan’s curse..." Monroe said with a smile.
Hearing this, Robson’s heart jolted.
The Dwarf Kingdom!
Trade with the Dwarf Kingdom was the very reason for the Fengman Clan’s rise to power!
Moreover, according to the Fengman Clan’s historical records, the family’s curse was not entirely unrelated to the Dwarves.
This was also why the Fengman Clan had been unable to solve the problem of their curse for so many years.
’If I could reopen this trade route...’
Robson had to admit he was tempted.
Setting aside the immense benefits that reopening the Ancient Trade Route would bring to the entire region beyond the pass...
The matter of the Fengman Clan’s curse alone was enough to entice Robson.
He was now deeply tied to the Fengman Clan. According to the date set during their engagement, he and Valentino would be married one month after the war ended.
After that would naturally come marriage and children. If he could break the curse on the Fengman Clan, the two of them could have more heirs in the future.
Although the Fengman Clan had excellent bloodlines and each generation’s Patriarch was quite capable, who would dare to gamble on something like an heir? Having more choices allowed one to select the best of the best.
And all this would only require Robson to deviate his attack plan slightly.
To be honest, Monroe’s proposed attack plan wasn’t too different from what Robson had been considering.
"Heh, think about it, General. I will naturally block the Centaurs for you.
What happens afterward will depend on your sincerity, General."
...
After his conversation with Monroe, Robson rode Everton back to the human camp.
This time, Robson didn’t enter through the front gate. Instead, he flew a circle over the Tiger Race People’s encampment.
It seemed the Tiger Race was already showing signs of wanting to retreat.
Then, Robson landed at the human main command tent.
A crowd of nobles had been waiting there for some time. Seeing Robson arrive, they all rushed forward to ask questions.
Robson dismissed the others with a few casual words but gave a detailed account to Valentino.
After hearing the news, Valentino also fell silent for a moment.
"How about we report this to the Kingdom first?" Valentino asked.
Robson nodded. That was what he was thinking as well.
’Better to tell them beforehand.’
Louis III certainly wouldn’t object to Robson’s actions now, but there was no guarantee that Noah wouldn’t rake up old coals when he took the throne in the future.
Navigating the Kingdom’s politics was a long game. Who knew which misstep might become a fatal blow?
Since Louis III was demanding a swift attack on the Tiger Race Royal Court, he probably wouldn’t fuss over such minor details.
"Regardless, let’s deal with the Tigermen first."
...
After the two spoke for a while, they returned to the main command tent to find it packed with people.
However, this meeting was very different from the previous ones.
Most crucially, several out-of-place non-humans were present!
A few Gnolls, or leaders of some other races, stood clustered together on one side, while the humans stood on the other.
Although they had somewhat accepted fighting alongside the Gnolls, that didn’t mean the human lords were ready to be chummy with them.
The chasm between races was, after all, a massive mountain that was difficult to cross.
Robson didn’t have any particular thoughts on the matter.
’After the war ends, we’ll all go our separate ways anyway.’
Even if Robson needed these Gnolls in the future, he couldn’t possibly use humans to manage them.
"Everyone, you’ve all arrived.
Let’s begin then."
Robson walked over to a map in the center of the room.
This map had been drawn recently and was much better than the one Chief Mole had provided.
"Recently, we’ve made rapid progress on the Eastern Front, and His Majesty has issued new orders."
Robson gestured over the map with his hand.
"We need to set out from here and conquer the Tiger Race Royal Court."
As he spoke, a guard at his side laid out another map next to it.
It was a map of the entire central front.
Compared to the Eastern Front, the humans were already very familiar with the central front—perhaps even more so than the Beastmen themselves.
The human army was a regular on the central front, paying a visit every thirty years.
"Our mission is to break through here and then intercept the Beastman Emperor on his likely retreat path," Robson said.
Intercept the Beastman Emperor!
The words sent a shockwave through the room.
If Robson wasn’t standing right there, the noble lords would have surely erupted into a chorus of chatter.
Intercept the Beastman Emperor! The political significance of this in the Frank Kingdom was immense. If they could capture the Beastman Emperor, everyone present would be promoted by at least one noble rank!
This even applied to Robson. He was already a Court Count, and the territory under his command was the size one would expect of a high noble family.
Louis III had already made it clear! As long as Lord Robson could take down Kemal, he would be directly promoted to Count!
With the Fengman Clan as his springboard, it was much easier for Robson to advance into the ranks of the high nobility than it was for others.
"However, before that, our first objective is to trap this entire Tiger Race army right here," Robson continued.
To conquer the Tiger Race Royal City, they couldn’t let the army before them escape back to it.
The Tiger Race was different from the Centaurs; they had a Defense Army in their Royal City. If they failed to pin down this army here, taking the Tiger Race Royal City would be much more difficult.
