Chapter 87: Caught Red Handed [Bonus]

"Vivian, Max try to charm him and keep him occupied. Ritsu, gather as much intelligence in this room as you can while we defend ourselves and try to knock him out."

Nyx changed forms and blocked the spells for them.

"Dark magic?!" She exclaimed. "What the hell professor!"

"You two should have never come here. You will not leave this place," He snarled, his appearance started to change.

"Werewolf Nyx, be careful!" Tyler said while linking with Leviathan.

"This is a strange sensation Tyler. Why me? Do you really want this room to get wet?"

"Need to wash away that pentagram and get used to using your link."

"Indeed. He’s using forbidden magic that comes with a hefty price."

"What price?!" Shadow asked in a panic.

"He loses part of his soul to the darkness with each spell."

"Tyler, your face... you look like a serpent!" Nyx gasped while teleporting behind the Professor. He took a swipe at her reinforced with QI but she requiped into her defensive form, easily protecting herself with her own Qi infused defenses.

Tyler opened his mouth and shot a ferocious water blast at the Pentagram. It didn’t change anything, so he decided to try another water shot but this time, he charged it with Ash’s white flame.

"Tyler, look out!" Nyx screamed.

The werewolf threw a giant black orb at Tyler with red currents running through it. Tyler’s staff appeared and he used it to block the attack.

"Thanks Nyx!"

The Professor looked confused but still evaded Nyx’s thrusts with her Qi infused blade. She tried using her vampiric blood abilities, but they barely scratched him. They quickly healed and Mr. VanHorn started laughing hysterically.

"You pathetic students stand no chance against me!"

[Ping! New Quest. Defeat but do not kill the Professor. Reward: ??? Failure: Death.]

’Well, he was planning on killing us anyway, so that doesn’t change things.’

The pentagram was slowly burning until the Professor opened a weird dimensional portal Tyler and Nyx had never seen before.

"What the hell is that and why the hell are you doing this?" Tyler demanded.

Vivian and Max couldn’t get in a position to make eye contact with him. He was too fast, aware they were around him and despite it being 4v1 the moment, it didn’t seem to bother the teacher. It just made him angrier.

’Open a portal to the Land of Summoned Monsters.’

Tyler sprinted and tackled the teacher through the portal as Nyx teleported to them quickly so they’d all end up in the same area.

Ritsu continued to look through all the notebooks, journals and things written on the chalk and dry erase boards remembering it with ease. She noticed the Pentagram barely took any damage, so she switched into her Gaia form.

"Collapse," She chanted in the Eidolon language in the area where the pentagram sat. It immediately started crumbling apart, causing sinister laughs, screams and cries to echo throughout the smaller room.

The spirits charged at Ritsu, who teleported away back inside of Tyler, who immediately felt her surge in power in the Eidolon realm.

"Tyler, your aura grew and looks more alive." Ritsu exhaled, trying to calm herself.

"Are you ok? What was with that room?" He asked calmly.

"Pentagram is destroyed and all the evil spirits locked within it are probably trapped in that room. We need to destroy that room."

"Can you go back and do it?"

"I can take care of it for you buddy," Ash chirped.

"Ok, but won’t I lose a ton of power without you in me?"

"Yes, but you’ll be fine. You’re on a different level here and you have my brother and the rest of us."

"Thanks Ash!"

Nyx continued switching between her offensive and defensive forms while sending countless attacks at the professor.

"Tyler! Your serpent head is much more defined here. Your aura looks larger and more alive. Make sure you don’t hurt yourself!" Nyx screamed while deflecting another dark spell.

"Thanks! Ritsu just told me the same thing, I should grab a potion."

Tyler created a mini portal to the refrigerator at his apartment, opened it, grabbed a mana potion and drank it as quickly as he could.

’Disable link with Leviathan. Enable link with Shadow.’

Tyler howled in pain as his body underwent a drastic change from a serpent to a well defined werewolf with one minor exception. His head was the same as his human body.

"Leviathan, I am going to summon you. We CANNOT kill him, we can only knock him unconscious. If we kill him, I think my system quest kills me."

"Very well. I am ready."

"Nyx, please go home! I love you babe!" Tyler shouted while opening a portal to his apartment below her.

"Why?!" Nyx cried out but disappeared, landing softly on Tyler’s bed.

"What an ass!" She laughed.

Back at school, Sophie, Amanda and Adam were looking for Tyler in their dueling class when Professor Atwood appeared. Master Sanju excused himself and encouraged the class to practice infusing Qi into their martial arts.

"What is going on? Shouldn’t he be back by now?" Sophie whispered to Adam and Amanda.

"If he was in danger he would teleport to us. Maybe Professor VanHorn is really strong or something? I’m not sure." Amanda said quietly.

"My snake is back. He said the pentagram is crushed and Tyler tackled the Professor into a portal. I’m guessing he went there to fight him. Nyx went through as well."

"Speak of the devil and she shall appear!" Nyx giggled.

"He’s fine, the Professor uses dark magic. He was in Leviathan’s form and had a serpent head, it was crazy!" She continued.

"So, he’s going to summon Leviathan?" Sophie grinned.
