League of Legends: The Bastard Prince of Demacia
Chapter 509 - 509: You Darkin Are All Trash
"This is a trade, not some act of mercy. Returning her power is only what you should have done in the first place. Those so-called restrictions exist for no reason other than preserving your dignity."
Luke had never held much respect for the Aspects, so naturally, he had no reason to watch his words. He simply said exactly what he thought.
"If I remember correctly, Morgana is your daughter. She isn't one of those Aspects who descended from the Celestial Realm. Her power belongs to her. If you can't even manage something this simple, then there's no point discussing our deal."
By exposing the truth so openly, Luke actually silenced Mihira.
She hadn't expected a human to know so much.
Who had told him all of this?
Luke was right. Morgana shouldn't actually have been bound by Mount Targon's restrictions in the first place.
She wasn't truly an Aspect.
Those so-called restrictions existed only because Mihira wanted to preserve her own authority, because she was the one who had established the rules.
If she couldn't even govern her own daughter, how could she call herself the Aspect of Justice?
Kayle glanced at her mother before turning toward Luke.
"Why don't you first tell us what you're capable of doing? I'm curious how exactly you intend to help us."
Luke smiled slightly.
"The mastermind behind the Void's actions this time is Malzahar, a mage corrupted by the will of the Void. And I know where he is."
Kayle asked with interest, "And how exactly do you know his location? If I remember correctly, he escaped into the Void. Don't tell me you can actually track him there."
"That's exactly what I can do."
Luke met her cold, beautiful eyes and smiled.
"But that's all I'm telling you. Right now, all you need to decide is whether you're willing to accept the deal."
Mihira spoke coldly. "You are merely a mortal. Why should we believe anything you say?"
"Then don't."
Luke shrugged indifferently.
"I'm not the one in a hurry."
His attitude immediately made Mihira's eyelid twitch.
She found it difficult to understand why her daughter would ever choose to follow such a shameless human.
"Mother, I think we can trust him this once."
Kayle looked toward Mihira as she spoke.
Mihira glanced at her daughter, seemingly wanting to ask why, but then remembered that they truly had no time to waste.
In the end, she remained silent.
"As you can see, we've accepted your deal."
Kayle turned toward Luke and raised one hand.
A pillar of sacred light immediately descended over Morgana.
It resembled blazing fire, yet Morgana felt no pain whatsoever.
She only felt the power she had lost gradually returning.
Divine energy flowed back into her blood as though it had never left.
She remembered what Luke had said.
This power had always been hers.
She had never belonged to those Aspects.
Gradually, Morgana accepted the returning power instead of resisting it.
As a pair of wings spread behind her, her strength was completely restored.
"Now it's your turn to fulfill your end of the deal."
Kayle looked at Luke.
The reason she had agreed so readily was actually quite simple.
She believed that someone her sister had chosen couldn't possibly be ordinary.
So in truth, the person she trusted most right now wasn't Luke.
It was Morgana.
Luke didn't waste any time.
He tossed the Void teleportation crystal toward them.
"This can open a gate into the Void for you. As for the location..."
Before coming here, Luke had already confirmed that Malzahar had stopped moving.
His position hadn't changed for quite some time, so he had most likely returned to his base.
All Luke needed to do now was tell the Aspects where that base was, and five powerful reinforcements would immediately be in place.
But Luke had no intention of stopping there.
Watching the Aspects rapidly depart into the distance, Morgana turned toward him.
"What now?"
Luke smiled.
"Now? Naturally, we go find even more reinforcements."
The Aspects made no attempt to conceal their auras.
They streaked across the sky at high speed, the tremendous power radiating from them leaving the mortals below stunned.
Before long, they descended into a barren wasteland devoid of human habitation.
This place had once been fertile land.
But as its vitality faded, even the enormous crystal-clear lake that had once existed here had long since dried up.
Forget humans, there wasn't even an animal in sight.
After landing, the Aspects instinctively began to doubt Luke's information.
Were there really traces of the Void here?
No one spoke.
Kayle stepped forward, took out the Void teleportation crystal, and released all of the energy stored within it.
Purple energy surged wildly.
The crystal flew from her hand.
Space itself appeared to be sliced open, and an enormous portal suddenly emerged before them.
At that point, their doubts disappeared.
The aura of the Void was already spilling through the portal.
The Void Hive.
The place resembled an impossibly vast ant colony, enlarged countless times over and filled with an intricate network of passages.
All kinds of Voidborn traveled through it, along with many humanoid Void warriors.
This was also the place where those Void warriors were born.
When an enormous rift suddenly opened in the sky, every Void creature in the area immediately noticed.
One after another, they raised their heads.
"This is..."
Standing before an enormous purple egg, Malzahar also looked upward.
Five Aspects slowly emerged from the Void rift.
They stood high above, gazing down at everything below like gods.
"They actually have a way to open a rift. Who is helping them from the shadows?"
Suspicion rose in Malzahar's heart.
He had already found it strange that Luke had somehow escaped from the Void, then later managed to enter it again.
Clearly, something had happened outside Malzahar's knowledge.
Worse, because of Luke's existence, his divinations and prophecies had long since become unreliable.
He couldn't predict anything involving him properly.
The fact that the Aspects had found this place so quickly completely exceeded Malzahar's expectations.
Now he could only accelerate the plan.
Malzahar suppressed his aura and moved forward.
Soon, he sat cross-legged between several enormous purple eggs.
As his magic began circulating, purple energy spread outward in every direction.
At this point, his only option was to force these Void eggs to hatch early and use whatever emerged as reinforcements.
Cracks appeared across one of the eggs.
A purple arm suddenly punched through its shell.
"Stop those Aspects."
Malzahar gave the command in the language of the Void.
A humanoid Void creature emerged from the egg.
It muttered a few words in Void speech as dense black armor rapidly grew across its body.
Then it departed to carry out the order.
Malzahar couldn't help regretting it.
These creatures were supposed to become perfect Void warriors.
They should have been far stronger.
But right now, he had no choice but to force their development.
"So this really is the place."
Mihira had already sensed the aura of the planetary core.
It was faint, but she was certain the Voidborn that had stolen it were here.
Below them, Void creatures began piling over one another like mountains as they surged toward the Aspects.
The Aspects drew their weapons one after another.
Powerful waves of energy erupted from their bodies as they fearlessly charged forward to meet them.
At the same time, Luke was moving at tremendous speed and had nearly reached the target he'd locked onto.
"The Void's aura and the Aspects' auras are overlapping now. Looks like they've already started fighting. I need to hurry on this end too."
Through Aura Lock, Luke could sense that the Aspects' presences had already converged with the Void's.
The battle had probably begun.
Considering Malzahar's cunning personality, even the Aspects might not be able to recover the planetary core easily.
Naturally, Luke had no intention of simply standing aside and watching.
No matter what happened, he intended to take part in this fight.
Before long, he stopped and looked down.
Below him, Aatrox and the other Darkin were already looking up.
The instant Aatrox saw Luke, excitement surged through him uncontrollably.
He hadn't expected the human to come looking for him voluntarily.
Luke lowered his altitude and looked over the Darkin gathered ahead.
His gaze swept from side to side.
"Where's the dog? Did you cook her for dinner?"
Naafiri, who was following farther back, immediately bristled with rage.
This damned human!
Why did he humiliate her every single time they met?
"What's so good about eating dog meat?" Aatrox grinned. "Why don't we finish the battle we left unfinished instead? I've been looking forward to seeing you again for quite some time!"
His aura surged dramatically.
Sensing the change in Aatrox's presence, the Darkin commanders around him all turned toward Luke.
They immediately understood.
This was the human Aatrox had been searching for!
None of them had expected him to deliver himself straight to their doorstep.
"Unfortunately, there's nothing about you worth looking forward to."
Luke's voice was indifferent.
"From what I saw, you're not that impressive. The famous Darkin Blade is mostly reputation."
"Oh?"
Aatrox's voice rose in pitch.
Rather than becoming angry, Luke's arrogance only ignited his fighting spirit even further.
Even more arrogant than before!
Now this was the human he'd chosen!
Only an opponent like this could give Aatrox an overwhelming sense of satisfaction when he finally defeated him.
And once he took this body for himself, using it would be even more enjoyable.
His subordinates, however, couldn't tolerate Luke's words nearly as well.
The giant-like Ibaaros stepped forward and glared furiously at Luke.
"A mere mortal insect dares stand here spouting such arrogance? What right do you have to judge the general's strength?"
Luke looked toward him, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
"Don't misunderstand. I'm not singling anyone out."
He paused.
"I'm saying all you Darkin are trash."
The moment those words left his mouth, the auras of every Darkin present became restless.
Every single one of them was furious.
How many years had it even been?
What the hell had happened?
Had the Darkin truly lost that much prestige?
Now some random human dared come straight to their faces and talk to them like this?
"General, forgive me for interrupting your enjoyment."
Ibaaros stepped forward with a deep voice.
"But I must personally punish this arrogant human."
A tremendous aura erupted from his body.
He violently hurled the harpoon in his hand toward Luke.
The enormous weapon tore through the air with a piercing shriek and arrived before Luke in an instant.
Aatrox made no attempt to stop him.
He merely watched and gave the two enough space to fight.
If Luke couldn't even handle an attack like this, then he wasn't the human Aatrox had chosen.
The other Darkin felt the same way.
They believed Ibaaros alone would be more than enough to deal with Luke.
Luke merely tilted his body slightly and avoided the incoming harpoon.
A thick iron chain was attached to the weapon, linking it back to Ibaaros.
Ibaaros abruptly yanked the chain.
The harpoon immediately reversed direction and came flying toward Luke's back without losing any speed.
Luke's figure flickered.
He vanished from where he stood.
Even faster than the returning harpoon, Luke appeared directly in front of Ibaaros.
Snowglance was already descending.
Shock flashed through Ibaaros's eyes, but his reactions were fast.
He immediately raised his other arm to block.
A layer of hardened armor resembling a turtle shell covered his entire body.
Luke's sword strike only left a slash mark across it.
But in the next instant, Luke unleashed several more strikes.
Every single one landed on exactly the same spot.
Crack!
The hardened shell was forcibly split open.
Blood sprayed from the wound.
Only then did Ibaaros's harpoon finally return.
He caught it in one hand and roared, swinging the weapon at Luke.
Despite his enormous size, Ibaaros's attacks weren't slow in the slightest.
Luke moved his sword at the same time, blocking every attack while countering with even faster slashes.
Within only a few seconds, numerous cracks and openings had appeared across Ibaaros's hardened armor.
Blood seeped from the wounds.
Luke, meanwhile, remained completely unharmed.
The sight made the surrounding Darkin narrow their eyes and begin examining the human much more seriously.
Ibaaros was an extremely experienced warrior.
Although he served under Aatrox, he was also one of Aatrox's friends.
Yet now, he was actually losing in a direct fight against Luke.
Realizing this, Ibaaros became even more furious.
All he felt was humiliation.
With a roar, violent blood energy suddenly surged from his body.
At that moment, Luke abruptly flashed backward and opened the distance between them.
"I'm done. You're too weak. This isn't fun."
He looked across the group.
"Why don't all of you come at me together?"
Those words immediately pushed the already humiliated Ibaaros over the edge.
His entire body practically radiated rage as his aura approached a frenzy.
Even the surrounding Darkin were becoming irritated by Luke's arrogance.
Fine, maybe he really was strong.
But talking this much trash right in front of them was treating the Darkin with a little too much contempt.
"Human, you won't stay arrogant for long!"
Just as Ibaaros prepared to explode forward and attack Luke again, Aatrox suddenly spoke.
"Enough, Ibaaros. Stand down."
Ibaaros forcibly stopped himself and looked toward Aatrox.
Aatrox had already stepped forward with his greatsword in hand, his entire body overflowing with battle lust.
"I'll handle the rest of this fight."
Simply watching Luke fight Ibaaros had already left Aatrox desperate to join in.
Naturally, he knew Luke hadn't been fighting at full strength at all.
Ibaaros had once been extraordinarily powerful, but having only recently awakened from his imprisonment, he was nowhere near his former strength.
"Yes, General."
Ibaaros stepped back.
His loyalty to Aatrox outweighed even his fury toward the arrogant human.
"Human, come!"
Aatrox advanced, his eyes locked firmly onto Luke.
"It's time we finished the battle we started last time!"
"Sure."
Luke hovered calmly in midair and smiled.
"But this isn't a good place for a fight. If you've got the nerve, follow me."
With that, he turned around and shot toward the distance at tremendous speed.
