Chapter 1233 - 1233: It’s work, after all
[Eon’s POV: ]
The competition was going to be tomorrow so we were preparing the innermost area in the academy castle.
The task was not given to the student council members this time but to the House captains of the academy. There was a deeper meaning behind this as well, but before that…
“Tia! How many times do I have to tell you! Your left! Not mine!” Eula screamed at our little fairy once again. This is becoming a game now.
“Haaa…”
We weren’t the ones who decided on this. The vice headmaster, the one who suggested the competition, was the one who asked the house captain to do the preparations so right now, we were preparing the stage for tomorrow.
‘There wasn’t much work, but no one was tense about these guidance duels at all.’
We gathered the students of the different houses. The wisdom phoenix was strictly instructed to do as we tell them, though there was more to those instructions.
While all the house captains did it differently, there were only a few things that all of us students needed to keep in mind for tomorrow.
“You know how this is going to be an important event, right? Why are you playing around like that, Tia?” Rein was also upset she was being so childish right now.
I know the work is almost finished and we don’t really have anything else to do for the time being, but the fact that she’s teasing Eula like this isn’t a fun sight.
“Captain, you don’t want us to start the meeting again, right? Isn’t that the reason you’re doing this? To waste everyone’s time?” Luna couldn’t stay silent anymore.
This was not fun anymore. She had been playing around for too long now.
“That’s right, yes!” Frustrated, she didn’t deny it anymore.
Her expression also changed from the playful one to a grumpy one.
“We have already gone through this three times! And every time we sit down to talk about this competition, you all stretch it unnecessarily! Do you know how boringgggg it is?!” She was complaining in an angry tone now.
I mean… she wasn’t wrong either. Whenever we have met over the last few days to talk about this competition, we had to discuss all kinds of strategies that we can teach to our house members.
We did a few meetings in the presence of the house members as well, so essentially the entire student body was a part of that discussion one time.
We went through how the teachers might call out the students. We considered possibilities of how the marks would be distributed to both sides. And we even went through scenario practice.
We did that, and we were able to get a good idea about what might happen in this competition. Knowing the vice headmaster, we also know there are things that she would do in order to have fun herself.
‘Looking back, talking like that also gave us some good ideas.’
We were pretty much prepared for the event, for the Guidance duels of the teachers, so we had been looking forward to the big day.
However, since the house captains were here today anyway, we all agreed to go through some of the things once again.
We weren’t going to make it long, but Tia knew even if we don’t stretch things, it would still take us a few hours. The earlier we finish this work, the longer we will be stuck on things.
“Tia, I know how you feel but don’t you want to be prepared for tomorrow as well? I was thinking what to do when one of us is called by the teachers.
I don’t know how the teachers will do things, but if we are called, there are a few things wwe can use to our advantage by setting the rules in a way that would advantage us.” My voice was a little low since I was also tired from all the things going on recently.
We were working for a while now and I wanted to take a break as well… not that we needed it, but after a short break, we would be able to finish this quicker.
“You know what, Lucifer? You’re wrong! What do you mean-.” She seemed to be frustrated right now.
She didn’t want to be stuck with us, going through the same technical things that we have been doing since the last few days. She was tired of all that, and we know that as well.
“Alright alright now, little fairy. Let’s finish the work and then start arguing, alright?” But only Hide was foolish and daring enough to grab her without her permission and put her down with his magic.
He may be her vice captain, but the fact that he did that and not one of the ladies also made him the prime target of her anger.
And oh my she was angry…
“You dare!” She did not care about her work anymore and dashed towards him on the other side of the arena.
She was pretty enraged right now, but before she could get to him, Hide used a (Blink) spell and vanished from the place.
He then started jumping from one place to the other, laughing at her for being so slow.
[{ “Alright he’s good at this.” }]
But this impressed Rein and a few others present.
[{ “He seems to have obtained some experience in running around from his time in the desert, haha.” }]
We already knew what crazy adventure he had during his holidays. He had been through something I didn’t expect he would go through anytime soon.
Living in that place without the luxuries that he enjoyed as the prince was nothing less than a trial for him which he ended up passing.
‘And with his newfound skills, he was able to annoy our red fairy while at the same time keeping her away from the things that we were doing.’
He made sure she didn’t interfere with our work for a few minutes, showing a kind of endurance and mental stamina that surprised even me.
“You’re so dumb, Tia.” By the time the rest of us were done with all the work, the two of them were almost on the verge of fainting from exhaustion.
The dumb fairy did not use any of the techniques that she might have to deal with an opponent as simple as him, while despite his great strategy, Hide could not properly maintain the pace and ended up using more stamina than what he should have.
“And you… there was no need for all that in the first place. No one asked you to do any of that.” Lizzy did not like how the two of them did this.
There was no unity within the house captains of the same house so how are we gonna go against the teachers as a singler, united entity tomorrow.
“This just shows how much we need this one final talk, no?” Lizzy helped the two of them recover a little and I gave them some potions that helped them a little as well. Nееd сhаrасtеr shееts аnd glоssаriеs? Visit МV^LЕМ^РYR.
We shouldn’t fight among ourselves, and yet here we were, handling two childish house captains with such tremendous potential.
“We are going to have the meeting now. And thanks to you two dummies, I have a better idea than just talking with words.”
I wasn’t the only one who thought this after seeing the two of them go at one another. Including me, captain Alpha and even Prince Alph had the same thought.
“You’re gonna suggest we talk with our fiest, aren’t you~!?” The one who was the happiest to see my expression and understand our intentions immediately was my dear sister Carla.
She didn’t want to talk about the same stuff over again. She would endure it but all of us know even if we know the future that will be taking place tomorrow, what we predict might not happen at all.
Even if we are the house captains of the great academy, even if we are some of the best youngsters of the era, the people we will be up against are masters and grandmasters of their fields.
People famous in not just their field for many of their works, but also people who had been in our position at one point in time.
Some of them were the stars of their own generation. We were also considering the possibility that some of us would have to go against the vice headmaster.
‘If we are doing that, then there’s no way we would be able to predict what comes at us.’
As long as they decide they want to teach us something, even under the conditions that we set, those people will somehow take their point across.
To deal with them, to not get pushed back too far, the house captains and us representatives will have to be the spearheads that give hope to our fellow students.
‘It was also our duty as the student council presidents to deliver the best to the teaching bodies. Disappointing them right at the beginning of our term wasn’t going to look good, right?’
Thus, we set up the parameter first.
The arena was so big that a few dozen matches could go in it at a time.
The students and teachers who weren’t participating at the moment would be sitting in the seats with the big magical screen in the center above us delivering everything that will be going on in the arenas.
The students only had to face one teacher so it would be up to the teachers who they were going to take up.
‘That’s why many of us are looking forward to the matchups that will happen tomorrow.’
Who will they fight against? Who will some certain teachers call up?
Will some of the famous teachers even participate?
There were a lot of questions…
“Let’s go then~!”
But we will find the answers to them pretty soon.
