Chapter 1034 The oldest in the family
[Eon’s POV: ]
The Bullions were powerful creatures. It was quite difficult beating them in a game of strength.
‘I thought they would simply be as strong as Rein, but I didn’t think the addition of Spirits would make so much difference.’
Those creatures were quite different from many other spirits using creatures I’ve fought. Unlike the normal creatures that share their energy with the spirits so that they can materialise into the physical world and help them, they harnessed the powers of the spirits itself.
‘Much like an Elementalist, they had a unique bond with the spirits.’
They can use the (Spirit connection) to connect with the spirits and use their Mana to channel the powers that they have throughout their body.
The way they channel the energy of the spirits through their bodies is also unique… instead of just passing it through their physical bodies, they use their understanding of the element, earth, and channel the energy throughout their entire mental body as well.
‘Doing that, they achieve a special synchrony with the element and this special synchrony grants them greater powers.’
They are no simple creatures. They are strong but they are mostly calm and self centred.
They don’t pick fights themselves unless it’s a fight with a different male over a female’s attention. It’s a common thing in nature and they are susceptible to it as well.
‘This time as well, they fought me after I defeated them first.’
They don’t like losing at least in front of their spouses, so they fought back and ultimately, we ended up creating a mess in the garden.
‘Anna scolded me, aunt Haze also scolded me since we practically destroyed the entire area where we had fought.
And even though I had put up a barrier to block any harm spreading out, we still destroyed a lot of things.
‘Aunt Haze did not like it and I had to spend a few hours cleaning up things in that area.’
Thanks to that, I got late and my schedule was messed up.
“Haaa…”
And even though it’s night time already, we are still packing up our stuff and finishing all the leftover stuff.
“Don’t waste time signing like that. Keep going. Only after we’re done with this shit, will we get to sleep or do something else.”
Rein wanted to go and sleep.
We will be leaving in five hours, and though we will be taking a private airship, the travel time won’t be more than a few hours as well.
So, by tomorrow afternoon, we should be at our destination, but that also means we will have no time to sleep before that if we don’t finish this quickly.
“I know I know. I’m doing this as fast as I can.”
The packing itself wasn’t an issue, what we had to do first was to finish all the paperwork that was left.
‘This paperwork, including some assignments from our mentors and teachers at the academy to the reports form the various shops that we have around the world needed to be completed before we depart.’
I was going as fast as I could without using ZONE to minimise exhaustion, but this was still going to take one more hour.
“You can just go ahead and-.”
“Like hell I’m sleeping alone. You asked me to tell you about my time at the sea during the war days! I have to tell you that! We can sleep when we’re flying anyway!”
“Yes yes, jeez! Why are you shouting? I can hear you just fine.”
She had lived longer than me and at one point, she had fought the wars at sea as well.
She was on the empire’s side, of course, and at that time, she was in the same section as her grandfather that was posted in the north at that time.
‘Back then, grandpa and grandma were together but Mom and dad weren’t around.’
Grandpa and grandma got married way later as well so, by the time she had joined the battles at the lowest posts as a mercenary, her own ‘grandfather’ was her highest superior while my grandpa was an ally force that was rising in power.
‘Grandpa was no noble till this day. He had no noble title aside from the Honoured position of a [Guardian] that only the exceptional knights of the empire possessed.’
He was allied with the empire but it did not mean he was a subject of the emperor, and similarly, even though the house of Heliox possessed the title of Marquis, we weren’t a subject of the empire.
Technically, we were in an allied relationship that was as close to a formal subject-monarch contract as it could be.
‘The Atraxia family was a direct blood relative of the Roxanna crown, her actual mother, the former Duchess of Atraxia being a cousin sister of the former Emperor. And yet, the Dukedom was a separate entity that didn’t directly follow the Roxanna empire.’
Yes they were subjects of the empire, but having the third highest authority and a distinct autonomy from the rest of the empire, the caretakers of the Fertile south were also independent individuals.
‘The crown cannot order them to do just anything, but back in the times of turbulence, things were different.’
She was a soldier in a battle where her alley was my grandpa, her superior was her own grandpa, the previous emperor was the one in command of the crown and the current emperor was simply an toddler .
‘Though, the three partners of that toddler were also around at that time, and they were much older than him as well, including Lady Madeleine. So at least, Rein and my relationship isn’t actually that weird.’
Rein is older than the current emperor, emperor August, and this makes things quite interesting for most of us.
‘She’s technically the oldest member in this house that’s older than our grandparents, Sir Zhen, and even the oldest mage in our house is younger than her.’
She had seen things that most of our parents have not, so she knew things that I was still learning from her. The history of the empire and what has happened in the past hundred years was a history that we weren’t going to find in history books that has glorified most of the things.
‘She likes telling me about the past, especially things that are related to the rare good times she has spent during her time away from home.’
I’ve not been to the north, I’ve also never seen the sea from a coastal city. But, our grandparents had lived there most of their lives.
They had been a part of the sea or the town that was connected with the sea and they had lived their lives in that place.
‘We were going to their hometown as well as to the place where my mom was born. It was the place where my grandparents met as well, so our First home as they call it… this was the first time I was going there.’
But it wasn’t the case for Rein.
She had been there many times, she had fought in the sea of the Heliox and defended the place with our grandparents. She was fighting in wars even before they were born as well, so she knew about history better than anyone else in this house.
So…
“I’m almost done. Just a little more…”
“Yawn… I’ll finish… this soon as well…”
She was sleepy, but she wasn’t going to sleep. She was stubborn and she was going to help me until we were done with this and she told me the story that she wanted.
‘I was the one that asked her to tell me about that, but we don’t necessarily have to do that right now.’
When I finish this, I’m going to go and listen to her story and make her fall asleep so that she can have a good morning, and hopefully, a good time at the airship as well.
‘Of course we can sleep then as well, but it will be better to observe the view in the sky with the others instead.’
Anna has been to an airship, but the two of us had never been on one together. And now that we have this chance, I wanted to show her things that she might have missed previously.

Sleep… well we can do that.
But, even I had never been to a dockyard by the ocean.
The view of the vast blue from a high point, with my family by my side, seeing the grand city of Heliox that I’ve only heard and read about…
‘I know this is going to be a fun experience.’
And the person that is looking after the city, grandpa’s brother and another [King] ranked knight that had only recently joined the ranks of these superhumans… Lord Luthor is going to be there as well.
‘We couldn’t meet during the grand conference properly.’
But he saw me there. And I saw him as well…
He looked just like grandmother. He even had brown eyes like her and blue hair longer than Rein’s.
He was different from the other Knight kings that I’ve met. He also didn’t have a permanent position on the Prism table either.
He was a knight king, but unlike the others who were much more experienced than them, he seemed more like Sir Mel. Someone who had yet to step into the realm of a king.
He did not yet have the experience of a knight that possessed the authority of the world, so… I also wanted to have a duel with him.
‘I’ve fought with knights like Sid Mel and I’ve fought the Experienced ones like grandpa but, ones like uncle Luthor were rare.’
Perhaps, I’ll earn something new while fighting them.
“Alright. Finally done…”
She was almost sleepy.
Well, she’s going to be completely sleeping in a little bit as well.
‘Let’s home we don’t get beaten up like usual when she wakes up though.’
I know it’s inevitable, but… world runs on hope, doesn’t it?
