The Governor welcomed the Vice President while Miya continued giving Luis a mocking smile.

No matter how furious Luis became, he could only stand there, grinding his teeth.

Even he, who could be considered a tiger among men, still had to think twice before trying to snatch meat from a lioness’s mouth.

Meanwhile, Enzo, who had intended to beat Oliver up from the very beginning, stood up shortly after spotting him.

Oliver’s expression suddenly darkened when he heard the Governor explaining the situation to the Vice President.

Miya had mentioned Giant corpses earlier, so it was easy for anyone to figure out what she had taken from Luis.

As far as Oliver was concerned, those corpses were valuable resources that could significantly increase the size of his zombie army.

Where else could he possibly obtain so many?

Now that they had all fallen into Miya’s hands, there was no chance he could take them back.

If he threatened to detonate a few Giants in City Z, he would naturally incur the wrath of everyone present.

Nobody supported acts of terrorism.

They were merely looking forward to his research and tolerating his mistakes because he couldn’t be restrained and his research was something they eagerly anticipated. However, the resulting destruction could cause losses for everyone.

“Vice President,” Oliver said to the elderly man.

Without waiting for him to say anything more, the old man actually took a step toward Miya.

Enzo, who had been about to act, was forced to postpone his plans, curious about what the old man intended to do.

Even Miya turned her attention toward him.

The Governor and the others followed the Vice President as well.

“Mr. Roger…” Miya greeted him.

The Vice President’s name was Zion Roger.

Other people always addressed him as the Vice President or General. Calling him by his surname was a rather bold move.

“Little Miya, I believe I used to call you that when I met your grandfather,” the Vice President said, surprising everyone.

Just hearing that made them want to laugh, though they had to hold it in.

At last, someone older than her could actually make a joke about this woman.

“Mr. Roger, I didn’t know you could joke around, too. I thought you were just an old man who frightened everyone,” Miya replied without showing any anger.

“So, what do you want from me?” she asked.

“You shouldn’t block someone else’s path. People want to rise up and become as strong as you. Their paths are already more difficult than yours was, but if you obstruct them as well, then no one else will have any hope,” the old man replied calmly.

“Mr. Roger, you should understand why I’m doing all this,” Miya answered.

“They’re simply too enthusiastic. I’ll make sure they learn to behave.”

“But their enthusiasm has already provoked my anger. No one should do that, not even you.”

“How dare you! Where are your manners toward the Vice President?” one of the senior military officials accompanying him shouted angrily.

He was bald and looked rather hot-tempered.

Naturally, he couldn’t tolerate being treated with such disrespect.

BANG!

Suddenly, something struck him, sending him crashing face-first onto the floor. A long, beautiful leg then stepped onto his back.

“You’ve got quite the nerve to shout at Lady. Don’t you know that no one in this world has the right to demand that Lady Stanley show them respect?” the owner of the leg said.

It was none other than Gracie Torres.

She had appeared again with her hair tied up, probably because it would have looked messy if she had left it loose after Dilan had touched it.

The others were even more shocked by her appearance, especially the vast and imposing aura she radiated. Even ordinary people could tell that she was far too powerful among Cultivators.

“A Giant…” the Cultivators present murmured, immediately identifying Gracie’s cultivation level.

That was precisely why they were so astonished.

Gracie was a well-known figure. The upper circles of City Z and the Southeast American State knew her well because she was the wife of the Solace Family Head.

She also managed numerous Solace Family businesses, so many prominent figures had interacted with her before.

It was no secret that she was an untalented Cultivator. Everyone knew it.

Of course, even an untalented Cultivator could make those who couldn’t cultivate at all jealous.

Nevertheless, ordinary people tended to mock those who lacked talent, assuming they were simply lucky but had failed to make proper use of that luck.

“Since when did Lady Torres become a Giant?” someone wondered aloud.

“Since when? As far as I know, she was stuck at Level 5. She even used rare resources before but still failed to advance to Level 6.”

“There’s no way a resource could directly raise her cultivation all the way to Level 10, right?”

“Impossible. Nothing like that has ever existed. Everyone can only advance one level at a time.”

“….”

The Giant realm was a level at which someone could walk with their chin held high wherever they went.

Gracie smiled broadly when she saw everyone’s astonished expressions.

“Sister-in-law, how is this possible?” someone suddenly asked her directly. He was a man who appeared to be under thirty.

“Ohhh, Arthur, you’re here too?” Gracie exclaimed in surprise, only just noticing his presence.

The man smiled wryly.

He was Arthur Solace, the younger brother of the Solace Family Head and, naturally, Eva’s uncle.

“I’ve been here from the beginning. You’re just the one who didn’t notice me,” he replied.

“Ohhh, sorry,” Gracie said with a chuckle.

“But I was able to reach this level thanks to Lady Stanley’s help. She possesses a puppet technique that allows her to grant power to something, and it works on living beings as well. You could say this is merely borrowed power, just like Oliver’s zombies. Of course, the best part is that there are no risks or side effects. There’s also no time limit on how long I can use it,” she explained.
