Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 64: Not the Only One
Without any security escort, the car traveled along the highway with no one knowing who was inside. It merged into traffic whenever the roads were congested and moved slowly through crowded areas.
It was not exactly appropriate, but Miya herself needed the extra time.
An hour later, Enzo finally saw a skyscraper that rose so high that even the clouds seemed to fall below its height.
It stood in the middle of a vast area surrounded by gardens, with its own elevated road leading directly to the building.
Stellaris Company was truly that grand as a corporation.
"Little sister, are you finished with your preparations?" Aaron asked.
"Yes," Miya replied briefly.
"Mr. Joe, go straight to the entrance!" Miya ordered.
"Alright!"
Mr. Joe smiled before driving onto the road leading to the building, traveling alongside countless employee cars.
As long as a vehicle did not look suspicious, it seemed that any car was free to enter.
But unlike the other cars that headed toward the parking area, their car stopped directly in front of the enormous entrance.
It attracted a great deal of attention, as this seemed to be something that rarely happened.
Mr. Joe immediately got out and quickly moved to open both rear doors.
He truly treated Enzo exactly the same as Miya.
Aaron, on the other hand, had to open his own door.
Enzo immediately stepped out of the car.
He was not particularly bothered by the attention because, from the beginning, everyone’s attention was drawn to Miya, who was the only woman among them.
As a woman whose photos were almost nonexistent on the internet despite her famous name, the ordinary employees did not recognize her at all.
But they knew that she was extraordinary.
Miya had not even taken a step when the enormous building suddenly emitted a light that appeared to form a glass-like wall, completely resembling a wall without actually blocking anyone.
"This formation is quite sensitive," Miya said with a chuckle.
It had activated automatically because of the arrival of a powerful Cultivator.
If it were only a Giant, the formation might not even activate, because even if a Giant entered the building and caused trouble, the formation could immediately expel them.
But a Lord of Earth was a different story.
Aaron sneered when he saw this.
This formation had indeed left him helpless, as it was even capable of withstanding the power of Lords of Earth.
However, Miya could not be compared to ordinary Lords of Earth.
"Are you Lady Stanley?"
Suddenly, a reporter carrying a large camera approached and asked, staring at Miya with intense curiosity.
Naturally, there were many reporters around the building. They gathered news about the company for business reports.
"Bastard, turn off the camera."
Aaron’s eyes immediately turned cold, making the reporter tremble.
He did not merely speak.
He forcibly snatched the camera.
BANG!
It immediately shattered into pieces.
The reporter turned pale.
These were not people he could simply yell at about freedom and human rights.
"Fourth brother, don’t be so rough," Miya suddenly said.
She was surprisingly friendly.
The other reporters, who were beginning to realize that this really was her, could not help approaching as well, though they did not dare turn on their cameras.
"Lady, what brings you here?" a female reporter wearing glasses asked.
"Are you here to conduct business?" another asked, earning a foolish look from the other reporters.
Why would someone like Miya come somewhere to conduct business?
It simply made no sense.
She probably would not care even if she were offered all the money in the world.
The only things she valued were top-grade cultivation resources that could not be bought with money.
"Everyone, I’m here to investigate the origin of the zombies that have been troubling the city lately. I suspect that Oliver Green is behind them," Miya answered calmly.
Not only were the reporters shocked, but the employees who heard her were also stunned.
This issue had already become headline news.
City Z was simply too vast compared to the number of cases, so it had not yet become a terrifying place to live. However, everyone was naturally on alert because if they happened to encounter one of those zombies, they could become victims themselves.
Without realizing it, they looked toward the top of the building, where Oliver’s residence was located, wondering whether Miya’s suspicion was correct.
These were not the words of some random person.
They came from the unofficial ruler of City Z.
Wee-ow! Woe-woe! Wee-ow! Woe-woe!
Suddenly, a large number of sirens sounded.
Dozens of police cars came speeding around a large corner.
And as it turned out, they also entered the elevated road leading to the building.
"They’re fast," Aaron said in surprise.
The cars also headed toward the entrance of the building.
As soon as they stopped, dozens of fully armed police officers got out of the vehicles.
Enzo narrowed his eyes slightly when he realized that the person leading them was none other than Erick Perez, the head of the CIA’s City Z branch.
He was wearing the same flexible, thin steel armor as before, holding his helmet while smiling at Miya.
"Lady Stanley."
He greeted her politely.
"It’s quite surprising to see you here," Miya said.
"What? Are you planning to stop me? Have you received enough from Oliver?"
"Isn’t it obvious that there’s no way I could do that?" Erick replied.
"Besides, who could stop you now other than Old Martin? I was fortunate enough to witness your power because, by coincidence, one of the satellites I control happened to be monitoring that area," he added.
"Because you know."
"Not exactly. But you know, the entire city is currently unsafe because there are people who can explode themselves."
"So are you saying that I don’t care about this city even though I was born and raised here?"
Right after Miya said that, a formally dressed man wearing glasses suddenly approached them.
He looked somewhat nerdy, but there was a great deal of confidence in his demeanor.
Miya furrowed her brows, as if she recognized him.
"Jose, is that you?" Erick asked.
