The path was completely clear now, and the enemy army was running away. Suzy took two quick steps forward, intending to chase after the them to ensure they didn’t regroup with the other two Kings. But the moment she lifted her step to run, her entire body went completely weak.

A burning heat exploded outward from her core, rushing straight up her throat.

’Cough.’

blood burst from her mouth, spilling over her lips and dripping onto her shirt. Her vision went blurry for a second, and the energy lines coming from her fingers snapped apart like thin thread.

She lost all the strength in her legs, dropping onto her left knee. She had to press her bare hand against the ground just to keep herself from collapsing face-first into the mess.

The cost of forcing her soul into the mid-stage of the Ascendant tier without proper preparation was hitting her body all at once. Her energy pathways felt like they were filled with liquid fire, and her lungs were completely starved for air.

She looked down where the enemy numbers were disappearing into the trees. She tried to lift her sword again, but her fingers couldn’t even close around the handle.

"I’m completely tired," Suzy thought, her head dropping as she closed her eyes, her breathing ragged. "I can’t take another step... My part is done."

She leaned her shoulder against the frame of the tower, a small image of a snake coming inside her mind.

"The rest is up to you now, Barry," she said letting her eyes close as she rested in the quiet.

—————

" Nobody can save you this time !" Malakor sneered, raising his black iron sword as his red aura flared upward. "You are completely alone in this camp!"

"I am alone and I am alone enough for old guys like you gentlemen, Let’s start the final round."

"Today you two are going to get defeated by me," Barry said, looking straight at the two men standing in front of him.

Malakor laughed, lifting his long weapon high above his shoulder. His energy rose around his legs as he took a step forward, his eyes full of anger. "You talk a lot for someone who is about to get buried in this camp. Brandon, take his left flank. Do not let him move away from the center space."

Brandon did not speak a single word. He moved fast, circling around the tents to block the path on my left side, his two weapons ready to strike. Both of them were strong, their energy filling the open area where the wagons used to be. They closed the distance quickly, swinging their weapons from two different sides at the exact same time, aiming straight for my neck .

Before their weapons could even reach my clothes, I did not try to run or block with my hands. I used my internal mind link to trigger my transformation instantly.

With a quick movement, my human suit completely vanished, and my body expanded into my big snake form. My long, dark reptile frame slammed onto the ground, filling the entire center area. Because I changed my size and shape so fast, their combined strikes hit nothing but empty air, their weapons crashing directly into the ground where my feet had just been standing a second before.

"What the hell?!" Brandon shouted, his eyes shocked as he looked up at my massive form towering over the tents.

I did not give them a single second to think or change their stance. I whipped my long tail across the ground, using my huge weight to sweep their legs. The force of my tail strike was massive. It caught Malakor and Brandon right around their knees, knocking both kings completely off balance and throwing them backward into the white canvas tents, tearing the ropes apart.

The soldiers around the camp screamed in panic, running away from my huge size as tents collapsed into piles of cloth.

Malakor scrambled up from the ruined tent, his face bright red with rage as he spat some debris from his mouth. He lifted his hand, channeling his red energy straight into the air to call for his archers. "Bring the large weapons! Pin his body down to the ground! Do not let him move!"

The surrounding soldiers tried to use their range magic to lock my massive frame in place, but I did not stay in my large form. Before their spells could touch my scales, I quickly shifted back into my human form, my clothes appearing perfectly clean as I stood up on my two legs. Moving twice as fast now in my smaller frame, I went straight through the dust toward Brandon, who was still trying to stand up from the ground.

"your account is closed!" I roared, my active skill bursting out of my chest with absolute authority.

While he was completely frozen, I reached out my right palm and grabbed his bone weapon, activating my skill to turn the structure straight into cash.

The bone melted instantly into a stream of bright coins that hit the ground with a quick clinking sound.

"You trickster!" Malakor roared from behind, recovering his footing. He charged forward with his red energy flaring twice as big, swinging his main weapon in a wide circle to cut me off before I could finish Brandon.

I had to drop my grip and leap backward, my human boots sliding along the ground as his weapon grazed the fabric of my jacket. The sheer force of his energy wave sent a vibration through my chest, making my breathing short. But i can see his movements clearly, but dealing with his raw physical power head-on was still an intense challenge.

Brandon broke free from the verbal freeze, looking down at his empty hand in pure fury. "My weapon! He turned it into pieces!"

"Get back and use your range magic!" Malakor yelled, stepping in front of him to block my path. "I will hold his front line!"

The two kings quickly adjusted their strategy, realizing they couldn’t catch me if I kept changing size. Brandon retreated five paces, his hands glowing with a green energy as he prepared to launch a barrage of magic projectiles straight at my head, while Malakor kept his weapon leveled to pin me down.

Right at that exact second, a pain shot straight through my internal mind link. The connection to Suzy suddenly weakened, dropping fast as I felt her energy fade back at the city walls.

"The defense line is cracking," I realized, my fangs tightening inside my mouth as I looked back toward the direction of the capital gates. "She is completely out of power and she is hurt. I need to end this meeting right now and get back to the city."
