The magic from Brandon’s hands shot straight toward my chest like three fast streaks of light. At the same exact time, Malakor charged from the center, swinging his weapon down to split my focus.

I didn’t try to change my size this time. I stood my ground, my jacket rippling as I gathered all my mid-stage energy into my bare arms.

"your request is completely denied!" I shouted, my verbal skill bursting out to meet them.

The manager authority hit the incoming magic projectiles mid-air, slowing them down for a split second. I used that tiny gap to slide my body to the right, my step moving fast across the grass as Malakor’s weapon came down.

I didn’t use a blade to block. I raised my left forearm, letting my hidden black scales absorb the raw impact of his strike. The force of his tier sent a vibration straight through my bone, pushing my shoes two inches into the dirt, but my muscles held firm. I grabbed his weapon shaft with my right hand, my fingers tightening like metal clamps.

"Let’s settle your account, Malakor," I muttered, my yellow eyes flashing with intense power.

I activated my main conversion skill through my palm. The top section of his heavy weapon began to melt instantly, turning into a fast stream of bright coins that splashed onto the ground.

"My weapon, you—!" Malakor shrieked, his face turning a furious as he get backward, holding nothing but a broken wooden stick.

Before Brandon could launch another magic strike to help him, a loud, panicked shout came from the edge of the camp near the forest path. A bleeding scout came running through the ruined tents, his clothes torn and his face covered in dark stains. He fell flat onto his knees right in front of the two kings.

"What happened, tell me quickly!" Malakor roared, shaking the broken stick in his hand. "What is happening at the capital gates? Did we won the capital?!"

"King Gregory... King Gregory has been completely defeated!" the scout gasped out, his breathing ragged and thin. "The girl on the wall... she used a forbidden family technique to cut off his power and defeat the king Gregory, now he is badly wounded and our many soldiers are already defeated and , and he is currently going back to the hills with the remaining cavalry!"

Hearing this news, Malakor and Brandon froze completely, their jaws dropping in total shock.they didn’t expect this happened , They looked at each other, then looked back at me, their eyes filling with an intense wave of pure fear.

"Gregory ran away? That useless man !" Brandon stammered, his hands shaking as his green aura vanished completely. "If his ten thousand horsemen couldn’t breach the gate, we have no backup left. Our entire supply line is already gone!"

"This meeting is officially adjourned," I said, stepping through the smoke toward them, my bare fists ready to strike again.

"Retreat!" Malakor screamed to the remaining soldiers, his voice panicked. "Pull all the units back into the outer valley! Move now , we can’t win here, we need to prepare again!"

The two border kings didn’t waste another second. They turned around and ran like absolute cowards, scrambling through the dark camp tracks with their remaining guards following right behind them in a chaotic rush.

I didn’t chase after them. My internal mind link with Suzy was turning thinner by the second, and I could feel her energy fading completely back at the city walls.

"Victor!" I shouted toward the tree line.

Victor shot out from the brush, his short sword covered in enemy blood as he ran up to my side. He was breathing hard, but his face was completely steady. "Sir! The enemy camp is clearing out! They are in full retreat what should we do now ?"

"Forget the camp, Victor," I said, my voice turning serious. "The queen is hurt. We need to get back to the palace right now, the situation there is critical"

Without waiting, I triggered my transformation, shifting back into my invisible snake form to move through the thick brush at maximum speed. Victor ran right next to me, his peak Genesis speed keeping pace as we sprinted back up the steep mountain tracks toward the capital city gates.

By the time the morning light broke over the walls, we reached the top walkway of the central defense tower.

The path was a complete mess of broken arrows and fallen spears. Suzy was laying against the base of the wooden tower frame, her sword resting loosely in the ground next to her leg. Her long dark hair was messy, falling over her face.

Cough.

A small drop of blood ran down the corner of her lips, staining her wet shirt. Her eyes were half-closed, her face looking completely pale and drained of all her regular tough boss energy. She had forced her breakthrough too hard, and her entire energy was completely spent.

I instantly shifted back into my human form, as I knelt straight down in right in front of her. I reached out, my long arms wrapping gently around her waist to pull her back against my chest, lifting her chin with my thumb so I could see her face.

"Suzy," I said, my deep voice full of an actual, raw emotion that I couldn’t hide. "Open your eyes, manager. The audit is over. We drove them all out."

Suzy slowly lifted her eyelids, her deep eyes locking onto my face through her hair. A weak smile showed on her lips, and her fingers curled slightly into my jacket, her heart racing frantically.

"Barry..." she whispered, her voice incredibly soft, and raspy. "You... you came back. I defeated that king, but...but he ran away before i could kill him."

"You did your job perfectly, Suzy," I murmured, holding her a little tighter against my chest to keep her warm as Victor stepped up behind us with a worried look. "This kingdom is ours now. Just rest. We have everything under control. leave the rest to me "
