Infinite Snake Evolution: But My System is a Total Menace
Chapter 46: Suzy vs king
Meanwhile in the palace King Gregory stood right at the main entrance of the capital wall. He was a holding a sword that was glowing with power. His energy was running completely high, filling the open road as his soldiers lined up behind him with their spears ready.
Suzy stood on the upper wall path, her hand gripping the handle of her sword tightly. Her two thousand guards were standing behind the barriers, their faces colourless and their hands shaking as they looked at the enemy numbers. Barry was away at the camp, leaving her completely alone to face a veteran border king.
"Surrender the city, girl!" King Gregory shouted. "The Prince is dead, and your tiny guard force cannot stop my army! Step down before we break this place down!"
Suzy looked down at his front line, her face turning serious. "The old king is gone, Gregory. If you want to take this building, you will have to pay for it."
Gregory let out a loud laugh, raising his sword. "Then we will finish you right now! Charge!"
His horsemen rushed forward all at once. The guards on the wall released their bows, but Gregory didn’t care. He leaped straight up into the air, his sword flashing with light as he swung it in a wide circle. The force of his attack smashed all the incoming arrows into tiny pieces before they could even touch his men.
In one quick movement, Gregory landed on the upper wall path right in front of Suzy.
"Let’s see your strength, little girl!" Gregory said, bringing his sword down in a brutal strike.
Suzy raised her weapon with both hands, blocking the blow. The force of his attack was completely overwhelming. The impact drove her knees straight into the wall, Her arm wound from yesterday flared with pain, and her breath was caught in her throat.
Gregory was simply too strong for her current level. He was a veteran who had spent years absorbing dark cores, and she was still very weak compared to him. Her body felt completely small and weak against his muscle power.
With a quick twist of his wrist, Gregory kicked her in the chest, sending her sliding backward across the path until she hit the tower wall. Her sword slipped from her fingers, falling near her.
"Is that all you have?" Gregory mocked, stepping closer. "You are just a weak child playing with a dead man’s toys."
Suzy sat there, clutching her bleeding wrist as the guards rushed forward to protect her, only to be swiped away by his sword. She looked at her trembling hands, a wave of deep frustration hitting her soul.
’I’m too weak, she thought, her teeth grinding together. Even after ten years of planning... I still don’t have enough power to protect anyone.’
As Gregory raised his sword to finish her, her mind suddenly flashed back to her childhood home in the capital city. She remembered sitting right next to her father’s desk while he checked the trade books and talking to Suzy then he looked down at her small hands, and tapped the crescent-moon shape on his sword.
"Suzy," her father’s calm voice come in her head. "Our family technique isn’t about physical muscle. It is called [The Ancestral Severance]. It lets you use thin strings of energy to cut off the link between an opponent’s mind and their physical muscles, making their body parts drop like useless person. But you can only unlock it once you reach the Ascendant stage. Until then, keep the numbers hidden."
The memory opened up in her brain perfectly.
"I am not giving up this branch," Suzy whispered, her black eyes suddenly glowing with a light.
She forced her body up from the floor, ignoring the pain in her body, and stood right in front of the incoming strike. She didn’t reach for her sword. She extended her bare hands, her fingers moving in quick geometric patterns through the air and her aura getting stronger around her body, it feels like she was forcing it and she remembered every word her father said to her.
A massive surge of raw magic exploded out of her core. The energy inside her veins boiled completely, her soul breaking through its limitations as she achieved a major breakthrough straight into the mid-stage of the Ascendant tier right in the middle of the fight.
The light from Gregory’s sword stopped in the air. glowing purple strings of raw magic shot out from Suzy’s fingers, wrapping tightly around the King’s wrists and ankles.
The strings didn’t just hold him—they sank straight through his skin, activating [The Ancestral Severance] instantly. The connection between his mind and his muscles was completely cut off.
Gregory’s eyes went wide with pure shock as he felt half of his physical power get cut off from his body in a single second. His sword became way too heavy to hold, the tip dropping straight down onto the floor with a loud noise as his body feel the power of Suzy technique.
"What... what is this?!" Gregory said, his face turning completely weak as he tried to pull his arms back, but his muscles refused to listen to his brain. "What did you do to my strength?!"
Suzy stood on the wall path, her clothes moving from the new mid-stage pressure coming off her skin. She reached down, picked up her father’s sword , and looked straight at his shaking face.
"This is the technique my father used to teach me," Suzy said, her voice deep and steady. "And now you are finally going to pay for what you did to innocent people’s."
Suzy moved forward without a word. Her weapon cut down through the space between them, slicing deep into the left side of Gregory’s chest. The sword went right through his leather vest, leaving a long, red gash that stained his tunic instantly.
Gregory let out a cry of pain, stumbling backward. Even with the injury, the technique was keeping his muscles completely locked, his body refusing to lift a finger to defend himself.
"Finish him!" one of the wall guards shouted from behind the barrier.
But before Suzy could bring her weapon down for a second strike, five of the King’s elite soldiers leaped over the outer parapet. They threw their bodies straight into the walkway, thrusting their long spears forward in a messy circle to force her away from their master.
Suzy had to step back as she swiped the spear tips aside.
"Get the King out of here!" the enemy captain yelled, coming toward Suzy to keep her busy.
"Pull back to the main road!"
Gregory didn’t hesitate. Feeling the grip on his veins loosen slightly as Suzy shifted her focus to his men, he dragged his bleeding body toward the rear ladder. He scrambled down the wall like a terrified animal, shouting to his horsemen below. "Retreat! Pull the front ranks back into the woods! Move!"
The remaining cavalrymen turned their horses around in a chaotic rush, following their wounded master as he fled back toward the western valley.
Suzy’s face stayed completely calm, but her movements grew faster. She spun away from a spear thrust, stepped behind the enemy captain, and drove her weapon straight through his side. She dealt with the remaining four soldiers in less than a minute, defeating them onto the walkway until none of them were left standing.
