Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 332: Mass Evolution Upgrade
The storm raged across the body of water, with waves crashing heavy and the sea churning wildly.
Lightning streaked and thunder boomed, all while the clouds lay thick like carpets blanketing the night skies...
Deep within this unstable part of the sea Brandon could be seen in the dark depths, swimming against the current seeking to resist the pressure with all his might, while holding tight to the unconscious body of Seth.
By this point his lungs, despite how massive and dense they had evolved to be due to evolution, were still beginning to feel the hyperventilation caused by the lack of oxygen in his system climbing through the roof.
His eyes bulged as it took every strand of his will to resist thrashing and succumbing to his instincts and drowning, his legs paddled furiously, as he locked onto the direction he believed led to the surface.
Unlike Seth and members of his division, Brandon and other members of the apex crew were still a bit short of getting to the bronze human stage, so there was no possible way he could adapt to the sea.
Deep in his chest his lungs began to spasm, while his brain lacking oxygen began to slow in processing speed, his thoughts slowly becoming foggy.
Brandon didn’t want to but despite how he fought against it his grip over Seth slowly loosened, as his mind drifted into a misty phase, all four of his limbs beginning to thrash.
In the depths of total terrifying darkness, Brandon didn’t know where the others were, he couldn’t even muster the mental capacity to worry about their wellbeing.
’To think I survived all horrors imaginable, from dragons to aliens only to die... by drow...ning,’ Brandon could barely complete this thought when his organs began to fail one after another, his consciousness like a dwindling ember on a candle’s wick moments away from snuffing out.
And at the very moment he assumed it was all over, when his mind was moments away from embracing darkness eternally, something flickered brilliantly in the corner of his vision.
A system message, a race-wide broadcast!
[Requirements Have been met!]
[Rewards will be allocated immediately...]
[A New Binding Trait Has Been Installed!]
[Congratulations! Humanity has been allocated a new stat Stamina!]
[Congratulations! Humanity has been bound to the stat Stamina!]
[Congratulations! Humanity will be elevated to a new baseline... Racial evolution will begin in...8...7...6....5...4....3...2...1]
[Brace yourselves! A new racial grade base has been set: Bronze!]
Now Brandon had long become unconscious, but that didn’t mean he was exempt from the changes happening across the entire race of humans.
All around the world, no matter what they were doing, some were engaged in battles, others just going about their day, some in escape as their foes hunted them down...
It didn’t matter, the system never cared for courtesy, it never delayed till everyone was ready, that same moment all at once the entire race of humans were pushed into evolution.
Bronze cells began to appear and divide, rendering all humans incapacitated, their veins bulging thick, as a renewed flow pumped through their veins.
Their muscle fibers grew thicker as the baseline was elevated, even humans already at the bronze state weren’t exempt, pushed into the state of racial upgrade — even the unconscious Seth drifting in the waves, his division soldiers struggling for their lives, Kylie facing a colossal charm beast monster, all were forced into the evolution state.
Now while not all bronze humans automatically became silver, as the gap between bronze humans and silver was more abysmal than the gap between the humans’ previous base and bronze.
But for someone like Seth who was already on the very brink of the bronze, it was a different story...
This event was a global spectacle as it affected both humans and their foes, enemies seeing their foes becoming incapacitated didn’t waste time in butchering the defenseless humans, blood flowing wild on battlefields as humans were slaughtered like pigs.
Those behind the warfront still not safe, as some humans in critical underground activities still joined the casualty list...
Millions died all to a mass upgrade in race, something no one could control or resist, and the system didn’t care, it simply did its job, delivered, and left.
By the time humans began to awaken all as bronze humans, feeling the new level of power thrumming within their veins, they couldn’t feel glad, plus the majority were still in the dark as to why such a thing had happened.
To most of them, they received the system message broadcast about rewards, blanked out, and now they were awakening to changes in not only their bodies but also their status.
Now there wasn’t a single ordinary human in existence anymore... all bearing the status as bronze humans.
Which meant automatically they all acquired the racial skill: Universal Adaptation...
That aside all their stats’ efficiency had shot through the roof, the conversion of stat to physical might ratio had increased and this was even more evident for stats they were bound to, both intelligence and the newly unlocked unique stat Stamina!
By the time humans all around the world came to, their comrades might have died but those left unleashed a level of power that sent their attackers reeling.
A human barely able to face a single merman soldier previously was now handling two to three with great ease, butchering through their ranks like the ancient races’ soldiers were meat bags.
Tides shifted, and powers unseen dawned into the world, the enemies struck only to see their foes, the humans, seemed countless times more resilient than they were meant to be.
Overseeing these changes from all four cardinal points were the monarchs, at that same moment the system broadcast came in they realized what had happened... one of them had succeeded in pushing a race to extinction.
So soon? So fast? They didn’t know who among them had succeeded, at least only three among them didn’t... but it just showed them the possibility of benefits they could gain from this war.
Their eyes sparkled brighter with greed, sinister smiles curling on their lips...
Meanwhile, Cain, remaining silent, rose from his desk, staring down at his hands, he could feel the colossal shift in power from the roots of his very being, and he understood.
"It must be because the flame dragons had evolved further, making our reward greater... that boy, whether he did this intentionally or not, really is a genius."
