Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 331: Relevance Of The Human Race!
"W-Who’s that?" Seth’s voice echoed into the emptiness of the void...
Feeling cold, weak, and all alone, he simply didn’t know how to express the relevance of life... he didn’t even know how to begin defending the relevance of his own race.
"What’s so bad about losing?" the voice, ignoring Seth’s call, whispered again, its words like swords carving into the very identity of Seth.
Seth’s consciousness remained silent as the absorption of the human fortune continued unimpeded, the feel of defeat sinking into his very psyche.
Struggling against the tide of his own shrinking mass, and his own negative emotions exploding out of proportion, his voice or thought boomed back in a low growl, showing more anger than fear... "WHO ARE YOU..."
Silence reigned as the draconic fortune continued to feed, leaving Seth paralysed in the absence of his own race’s relevance.
"I am the Golden Dragon King!" The voice finally replied with a low rumble!
To this Seth didn’t even know how to reply, was he supposed to be aware of who this being was?
"Don’t blame yourself, ignorant child! Your kind simply can’t fathom my existence!" the regal voice made his consciousness quake.
"To think your kind branched off to such an existence, fragile yet you have come so far..." The voice commended, all while Seth remained silent, hoping to figure out a way out of his current situation quickly.
Because if he didn’t do something quickly, one of two things might happen: humans replacing the existence of dragons, or escaping with so little fortune the human race simply wouldn’t be able to prosper any further.
"Fuck! Why the hell wasn’t someone more capable chosen to represent humans in this fight? Maybe someone like Cain? Or I don’t know, the literal first human, ADAM!" Seth hissed in frustration at his situation.
He simply felt he didn’t have enough experience, or hadn’t lived long enough to determine the relevance of the human race.
How was he supposed to contest what he couldn’t oppose?
"I remember, back then your race was so weak and insignificant, your people simply couldn’t be valuable as anything other than slaves..." the voice continued, its words aiming to dismantle Seth’s morale even further.
"I wonder how your kind even grew to be this powerful or even have a fortune so thick and abundant... what a marvel!" the voice chuckled in disbelief as the gold dragon fortune continued to siphon off the human race fortune.
The primordial clouds roiled in a spiral, humanity’s fortune literally on its last legs. This wasn’t even a challenge — the humans simply didn’t hold enough relevance to contest.
In the grand scheme of things, before the broadness of the universe, before the broadness of their world Earth, of what value did they hold?
What is the relevance? What principle?
"Evolution..." Seth suddenly whispered.
His whisper was low, almost too silent in comparison to the vastness of it all yet it was enough...
Everything abruptly came to a halt, the void of nothing spiraling to a pause...
"What?" the voice of the Golden Dragon King choked in confusion at what was happening, the ancient existence simply couldn’t begin to understand what played out next!
The roles suddenly flipped, as the weakened flow of the human fortune suddenly began to feed off the dragon. The once-dimming glow of bronze started to simmer bright once more, and Seth’s consciousness immersed itself deep into the sudden trickle of epiphany that came upon it, holding onto this sudden lifeline.
Seth didn’t want to awaken and find out he was permanently trapped in the body of a gold dragon...
Though these creatures were powerful, they were titan-class lifeforms, regal and majestic, he still wouldn’t trade this human form for that — not now, not ever!
Cause why would he abandon infinite adaptation for flame embodiment?
Why would he abandon the possibility of infinite evolution to become the incarnate of destruction and creation?
Seth finally understood the relevance of the human race... Evolution...
They represented the pinnacle of evolution, yes!
The greatest lifeforms Earth ever gave birth to weren’t dragons or beasts...
It wasn’t the mere men, nor was it the Avians!
It was the humans...
Beings born with nothing, born in weakness and slavery, yet rose to be hegemons...
Humanity represented what it meant to evolve, the constant adaptation of life, THE PERFECT LIFE!
The moment that concept was hammered into reality itself, the reversal quaked through the void, the human fortune began to swell beyond the dragon’s ability to keep up, their fortune siphoning off the gold dragon’s fortune without restraint!
Who said Creation and Destruction could thrive without evolution?
Well, it could, but humanity could also evolve and adapt to embody this role!
"W-What are you doing?" the panicked growl of the gold dragon king echoed in a flurry, as it struggled to resist the pull of the human race’s fortune but it was futile...
Seth’s consciousness grew stable, and the plague of weighty negative emotion evaporated into nothing. Now in full control, he suddenly realized he had far more liberty being on the winning side.
With no effort at all he quickly locked onto the vast ancient mind that proclaimed itself to be the Golden Dragon King, and Seth realized that this consciousness was but a mere imprint of whatever this ancient being once was.
Which made sense after all this answered the mystery of where the gold dragons found a mind to stir their fortune...
"Don’t worry, old lizards, my people will make sure to occupy the role of the gold dragons without a hitch, we are humans and we can do anything!" Seth’s voice echoed mockingly into the ancient mind of the gold dragon.
The poor consciousness snapping back in erupting fury, "Impossible! Humans can’t replace us. This is a mistake, you’re too small, too weak, too insignificant!" its voice resounding like a wave of turbulence.
But its predicament never improved, Seth holding tight to his belief in humanity’s relevance, he believed... No! He knew the relevance of evolution trumped the gold dragons!
Humans represented not only that but also the infinite potential of life, whatever could be achieved, they could achieve!
[Congratulations! You have won the duel of relevance!]
"NO! NO! NO! This can’t be happening!" the Golden Dragon King wailed weakly, his voice dwindling into nothing but a receding echo, fading into nothing as the human race devoured what was left of the gold dragons...
