Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 330: Duel of Relevance!
In the vastness of space drifting in the clouds of primordial glitter, a space not bound by reality, but manifested by the presence of life.
The space where fortune and karma thrived, it was never meant to birth consciousness, so today it welcomed the presence of a human mind.
Chosen by the status of the World Saint to represent humans, Seth embodied the fortune idol of the human race; MAN!
His frame glowing with an ethereal hue, see-through and most noticeably massive, Seth rose to his feet, his form naked and see-through as it was never made up of matter, taking foothold on nothing itself.
He really didn’t know what to think at this point, as his focus was mainly trained on his foe, a glistening form of the golden dragon king.
Its form majestic and grand, the idol simmering with the regality of gold, its horns coiling in defiance to the heavens, behind it seemed to be a halo that represented the sun itself.
The beast snarled violently, its phantom frame rising high in defiance to Seth- no the human race...
"What am I supposed to do? Fight?" Seth muttered in confusion, how the fuck was he supposed to know how to wield the power of fortune? The very same force he had rejected?
His sight trailed away from the looming phantom of the golden dragon for a moment, staring down at his own spectral arms, he clenched and unclenched and the hands before his eyes responded to action.
Seth wasn’t assailed by the wrongness of being in another body.
No, his consciousness melded perfectly with the spectral human idol, the feeling of power absent yet there at the same time, he couldn’t activate his gene skill even if he wanted to yet he could sense their presence among the myriad of things he embodied at the moment.
"Wait, if I am the one embodying the human idol for this duel, then who is stirring the dragons?" He wondered, his gaze rising back to meet the hulking spectral mass of the gold dragon incarnation.
Myriad questions swam in his head at the moment, but answers remained elusive, leaving him to remain perplexed watching as the dragon loomed helplessly.
Somehow his gut feeling told him that this wasn’t going to be the type of duel he was used to, the dragon’s wings continued to flap, drawing closer than Seth was comfortable with.
"What is it trying to do?" He muttered in confusion, the dragon wasn’t gearing or charging for an attack, at least from what Seth could read of it, he came to the conclusion it wasn’t.
Leaving Seth even more confused he didn’t know whether to retreat or advance, and after a brief moment of consideration...
"Fine, what’s there to be scared about an already extinct species!" The moment he had this thought, his spectral form glowed brilliantly, carrying a thick luminescence of bronze, his towering frame took a step forward, its first step.
Beneath his feet nothingness solidified into a path, and above his head a glistening regal crown adorned itself, signifying humanity’s status as the hegemon of Earth!
Ancient symbols and glyphs flickering into existence, as he made his way forward, he began to feel the vastness of humanity’s fortune building with each step.
His courage rose even higher, as the halo around him responded to the glow of bronze growing even more bold, his phantom form becoming even more solid.
In this vast void there was nothing, and the rules of reality remained null here, which was why even as both towering bodies of fortune representing two different races moved, there was no response from their environment.
The void remained still as both hulking frames of dragon and man clashed, Seth stretching the arms of the construct to hold his foe, and the dragon letting out a roar of rage the moment its opponent got close.
Both parties met, and the clash was unlike anything Seth expected, in this plane of fortune neither physical might nor strength mattered.
They simply carried no weight, all that mattered was relevance...
If Seth’s eyes were present they would have widened in realization that this was never going to be a clash of physical might but one of relevance!
Both spectral forms merged into one, their frames deforming into formless raging tides of opposing streams meeting in a creek.
Seth’s mind going blank immediately after enlightenment, his consciousness flooded with memories and principles...
Principles of what the gold dragon race represented, the law of nature they embodied...
Seth was enlightened it seemed all life on earth was the birth of manifestation of a principle, and the gold dragons? They represented the dawn of the sun, the embodiment of light, the destruction as well as the creation it provided.
The humans didn’t just eradicate the dragons, they drove to extinction beings that embody both life and destruction.
Necessities that the earth needed to thrive, order and chaos melded into law, that governed life itself!
The moment this enlightenment was established, the dragon race fortune peaked, feeding off the human race’s fortune.
Seth would have screamed if he could, the feeling of being devoured alive washing over him, his mass shrinking in real time as the relevance of the dragons was being hammered into his being.
It was at this moment that another realization hit, the gravity of this duel. The duel of relevance wasn’t just to determine the human reward, but also if it went wrong and the human fortune was devoured.
All humans on earth would become replacements of this extinct race, morphing into beasts. A terrifying outcome to say the least.
But therein lay the problem, the vital relevance of the dragons was simply too bold, too... relevant!
What right did the humans have to eradicate such a species?
On what grounds did the humans have to remove the equilibrium of life on the planet, beings that represented a necessary destruction for creation to take place?
What right?
This question echoed, branding itself into Seth’s very soul as the feeling of inferiority began to take root!
His form weakened, as the mass fortune of the human race shrank even more rapidly the moment this emotion took hold.
This wasn’t a battle Seth was prepared for, it wasn’t even a battle one could prepare for as without relevance there was no way the human race was winning this...
"You simply have to accept your fate!" a cold voice whispered into Seth’s sea of consciousness...
